To know about base shear Simply we treat a building as cantilever beam. Earthquake generates a ground acceleration but due to a mass source of building .. Earthquake force is developed so earthquake force is function of building mass...and distributed as lateral load.. that lateral force is resisted by base shear
Well Explained. Thanks.
I'm doing my final year project on Pushover analysis so after getting the hinge formation in beam columns and walls respectively to get rid of being collapse of the members what will be the solution?
Do capacity design
@Binayak samanta
Me too I m doing final yeat project on pushover analysis
Sir In Dynamic Analysis in Etabs we do the Scaling of Dynamic Base shear, Is this scaling done for the design purpose only... or it is done for analysis also... as We are increasing the Dynamic Base Shear if it's lesser then Static base shear.....
It is done for both analysis and design. Is 1893 says that both the static and dynamic base shear must be equal.
