Many mainland chinese think they are a true Hong Konger after they get the HKID. But a true HKonger is born in HK and have parents born in HK. You don't sound like one.

China is using Soviet tactics of population replacement to ensure control, not a surprise. The problem is that they tend to give them financial incentive to do so which means they will be financially better off than local population which tends to lead to tensions due to inequality which keeps the populations apart but we will see how it forms in HK.
There's no need of incentives since Hong Kong offers a lot of job opportunities. Which are your sources? I know Chinese people living close to Hong Kong and they don't get incentives.
It was never globally unique. It's a humid densely populated East Asian city like any other. Most of culture is heavily influenced by 80s onward popular Japanese media.
