    Why couldn't most of the wood be reclaimed ? What a waste.

    • @PriestlyDemolitionInc
      @PriestlyDemolitionInc  6 лет назад +1

      We salvage what we can, but the sea air rotted the wood making it hard to reclaim. We do separate our materials and recycle.

      I have a great idea. I can reclaim the wood from Priestly. Once done I can sell it to you directly as flooring for $9 per sq ft. Please tell me how you intend to pay me.

    This was one of the coolest abandoned places I've explored. Its such a shame they decided to tear down a piece of history like this. What a waste.

    • @DJFoxyOfficial
      @DJFoxyOfficial 4 года назад +1

      Well said. I was hoping to go there someday and photograph that lighthouse.
      I wish they didn’t do this. Historic buildings like this shouldn’t be demolished, they should be preserved and restored!
      And the reason for this demolition makes legit no sense. “Restoring an Island” should not involve this. The lighthouse was a VITAL part of the island’s history.

    • @someone28
      @someone28 4 года назад +1

      @@DJFoxyOfficial It served its purpose then it was a safety hazard. There are plenty of lighthouses on the great lakes that you can photograph. The land was returned to its rightful owners and it was returned in the original condition. Pun intended.

    • @DJFoxyOfficial
      @DJFoxyOfficial 4 года назад

      someone28 a SAFETY HAZARD?! How on earth could a frickin lighthouse be a hazard to safety? I disagree. The lighthouse should not have been demolished. The lighthouse was an important part of the history of Georgian Bay.

    • @DJFoxyOfficial
      @DJFoxyOfficial 3 года назад

      @Stormtrooper1488 Nope.
      1. How could they have made it less of an eyesore? RESTORING THE BUILDING ITSELF RATHER THAN DEMOLISHING IT.
      2. There was no maintenance being done to it, so it wasn’t exactly a liability. Maintenance would have been done if people were actually stepping up to restore it.

    • @DJFoxyOfficial
      @DJFoxyOfficial 3 года назад

      @Stormtrooper1488 I just disagree with the decision to demolish the lighthouse. It was an important part of Georgian Bay history. That's all I'm saying. I was hoping to cruise out by the island and photograph the lighthouse someday. And I have seen other people in the comments here who also disagreed with the demolition.

    • @DJFoxyOfficial
      @DJFoxyOfficial 4 года назад +1

      Roy Schreyer exactly my point, and the reason they demolished it wasn’t good at all. Restoration? THATS NOT HOW YOU RESTORE A HISTORIC ISLAND SUCH AS THIS ONE. I was hoping someday to photograph that lighthouse, it’s very sad.
