      When we believe in Christ and what he did on the cross for us, He justifies us (declares us not guilty; but holy) and he sanctifies us (makes us holy and righteous) This is our assurance of salvation. Read the book of Romans for more about this. Then the Holy Spirit seals our salvation until Jesus comes again, and we are adopted as God's children. Look up these words and they will give you assurance. God Bless.

      In 2 Peter 1 Peter tells us that all things that pertain to life and godliness have been given to us through the knowledge of Christ. And in verses 10&11 he says that if you do these things (the attributes of Divine Nature: verses 5-7) you shall NEVER FALL. And by doing this and not falling then an entrance in to the kingdom will be abundantly ministered unto you. So be faithful to your covenant with God and you have nothing to worry about!

    I wonder if the Translators of the KJV and The Geneva bible ever thought about the difficulty we may have interpreting the scriptures and how so many can reach different conclusions EVEN AFTER deep study and thorough Exegesis..
    You gotta know.......
    The context . WHO is saying it..WAS they Roman or Jewish..Where was it being taught..Why are they saying it..What is the whole meaning and theme of the chapter . What the words meant back then in The Hebrew and Greek vs Modern 16 and17 th century English and then the difference in words from the kings english till now..UGH..

    • @robraver
      @robraver 4 года назад +2

      its quite simple. Do you believe in what Christ accomplished on the Cross? And have you responded personally to this? people complicate things far too much. They go on about the KJV versus all the other versions and blah blah blah. If the KJV is that important then really we should all be learning Greek and Hebrew for a more authentic feel to Scripture reading. How do you think people, over the centuries, being illiterate (because most were) fared if they couldnt actually read Scripture...which would have been in Latin too. there is a saying 'the devil is in the detail' which I mean to say that satan will lead a merry dance of us while we argue over the finer points of everything. Keep the Message simple!

      If you are living according to those things written in first John, like 3:7-10, then you are ready if he returns or if you should die in the state, but, if you start saying that you are in fellowship with Him (legally without sin) while you actually are walking in darkness, then you don’t qualify for eternal life and if you die, you die in your sin. (Ezekiel 18:21-28)

    *ARE* you "saved"? The apostles Paul and Peter said we in this mortal life have "the hope of salvation" and are appointed "to obtain salvation" and "shall be saved" in the future. For example:
    "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
    For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 5:8,9. Did Paul tell them they _had been_ saved?).
    "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they." (Acts 15: 11; Peter, speaking to apostles and elders about future salvation for both themselves and Gentiles.Did Peter tell them they _had been_ saved?)
    Peter and Paul understood that we will not be saved - saved from ever perishing in death - until we actually receive the gift of eternal life. Paul explained (1 Corinthians 15:50-54 and 1 Thess 4:13-17) that we will receive eternal life at our resurrection at Jesus' return. Not until then will we be saved from ever perishing in death.
    ⚫ Meanwhile in this mortal life we are _being_ "saved," in a different sense: we are being saved from slavery to sin. Through a relationship with Him through the spirit we are led out of slavery to sin and led into His righteousness, being made ready, fit, to receive the gift of eternal life. This is sanctification:
    "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." (Jesus, in Revelation 3:19)
    A relationship with Him "yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby" (Hebrews 12:11).
    "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
    For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14)
    "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
    "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
    ⚫ Meanwhile in this mortal life we may _have been_ "saved," in yet another sense: saved from the hopelessness of having to perish as the penalty for past sins. We've all sinned. Our sins have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:1,2) and earned the "wages" of sin: death (Romans 6:23). We are promised God's mercy if we'll do as He instructs us to do. We'll be forgiven and redeemed, by grace, from the death penalty already earned for past sins. Jesus made that redemption possible when He gave His life to create a ransom payment (Matthew 20:28), making His death, His blood, available as a payment of our death penalty.
    We can be "purged" from our "old sins" (2 Peter 1:9). We can have "remission of sins that are past" (Romans 3:25). We can have our past sins "blotted out" and be redeemed from the death penalty earned for those sins. With past sins and their death penalty blotted out we are no longer separated from God. We are now justified or reconciled to God in this mortal life (but not yet "saved" from ever perishing in death). How can we receive this mercy, this grace?
    "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)
    "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30)
    "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV).
    Note that our sins were NOT blotted out when Jesus died on the cross. We must repent for our sins to be blotted out. Then, no longer separated from God, we can begin a "time of refreshing" - a new life - "in the presence of the Lord" through the holy spirit . . . sanctification.
    Note how Paul separated justification from salvation: they are two different things at different times. It is a mistake to confuse justification (now) with being saved (in the future) through an ongoing relationship with Him, continuing in repentance:
    "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Paul, in Romans 5:9)
    ⚫ Without repentance we have no redemption and will surely perish, unredeemed from the death penalty already earned for past sin (Romans 6:23). That's why Jesus warned, *"except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish"* (Luke 13:5).

    He's leaving out one critical word: REPENTANCE one must repent in order to be truly saved. Intellectual acknowledgment isn't salvation, even the demons "believe" and shudder.....

    • @kingterence1598
      @kingterence1598 6 лет назад +4

      Let me start by saying that simply "believing" doesn't equate to regeneration. True faith turns into a "new creation" and the old has passed away...that only comes IMO through hearing the ENTIRE gospel which entails what Andrew has stated with the acknowledgment of ones personal sin and then repenting of such (I didn't hear that in Andrews message). As an evangelist we must always include "sin & repentance" unless we do so the hearer will not know their need for the "cure " which is Christ and Christ alone. Andrew had 99% of the Gospel but not 100%.

    • @BlackOreoCookie
      @BlackOreoCookie 6 лет назад +3

      So the cure is Christ + repentance?

    • @kingterence1598
      @kingterence1598 6 лет назад +8

      No. It' repentance + Christ. If one thinks one can lay hold of Christ and one's sin too then Christ is of no use to such. The NT is crystal clear one must repent of ones sin FIRST however, the prevailing message today is unfortunately you can have Christ and your sin too. Or you can have Christ without repentance. I'm NOT talking about "sinless perfection" but I am talking about "turning" (repenting) by acknowledging your sinfulness and then turning to the Physician the Lord Jesus Christ. Andrew and many many others leave this part off which is not the entire gospel in my opinion. It leads to Antinominiaism and false conversions.

    Please stop taking Revelation 3:20 out of context! When will people understand that Jesus is knocking at the door of the Laodicean Church asking the church to let Him back in? They have pushed Him out and forgotten Him because they are to distracted by the cares of their world. It has nothing to do with asking Jesus into your heart. It is not Biblical to ask Him into your heart for salvation.
    This is the Biblical GOSPEL: 'Acts 16:30b-31: Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.'
    So, believe this and be certain of it and you are saved the moment you have faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at the cross! Just be sure to keep works out of it. Grace and works are mutually exclusive. Romans 11:6 - 'And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.' Romans 3:27 - 'Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.'

    • @48lilyofthevalley
      @48lilyofthevalley 5 лет назад +4

      Hello Light, There are 3 phases of salvation; justification (God declares us innocent because our faith is in His Son) and it is instantaneous, sanctification (growth in Christ), and glorification (at death or the rapture, whichever comes first). It is vitally crucial to keep any kind of work out of justification which happens instantaneously at the moment of faith in Jesus Christ as your only Saviour. You need to understand that His blood washed away ALL of our sins past, present, and future forever, He was buried, and rose again unto the victory on the 3rd day. Most pastors today mix justification and sanctification together making the foundation of salvation on works. Works CANCELS grace and you will not be saved. The final phase of salvation comes at glorification (when we receive our new bodies and our sin nature will be left behind).
      Just take Ephesians 2:8-10 as an example:
      'For by grace (God's unmerited or undeserved favour) are ye saved through faith (in Jesus Christ); and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God (A GIFT IS FREE AND UNCONDITIONAL): NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO good works (this comes AFTER justification), which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.' There are multitudes of scriptures regarding these three stages. People grow at different rates and some come out of a more difficult circumstance. Rates of growth or amount of works performed cannot ever have you lose salvation. God cannot go back on His word once you are justified because God cannot lie. Romans 4:5 - 'But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on Him that justifieth the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness.' I am happy to answer more questions and give more scripture if you do not yet understand. Happy New Year!

      BlueSky , you forgot Romans 10: 8-10 its about the Heart and Mouth ! You state it is not biblical to accept Jesus into your heart for salvation, well i think you are wrong according to the bible !

    • @48lilyofthevalley
      @48lilyofthevalley 5 лет назад +4

      Light - All you have to do is read Ephesians 2:8-9 and let it's meaning really sink in. The whole Protestant Reformation was fought over these 2 verses. Justification is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Then you carry on into verse 10 - 'For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we SHOULD walk in them.' Salvation must come first. Discipleship cannot be squashed together with salvation or you end up with works based salvation. I would also refer you to Titus 3:5, Philippians 3:9, the entire book of Galatians which is Paul's defense of salvation by grace without works, Romans chapter 3 into chapter 4, and many other places. Romans 4:3 - 'For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.' Blessings!

      inga robinson,
      Romans 10:8-10 (KJV)
      8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, THE WORD OF FAITH, which we preach;
      9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE (not 'ask Jesus into your heart') in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
      10 For with the heart man BELIEVETH unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
      I forgot nothing, thank-you. Unfortunately you are twisting the meaning or have a bad translation of the Bible. The emphasis in these verses is faith and believe. No where in the Bible does it say to ask Jesus into your heart for salvation. GOSPEL: 'Acts 16:30b-31: Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.'
      I would encourage you to listen to this testimony of the late Dr. Hank Lindstrom, not because he was a higher authority the Holy scriptures, but because this very issue was his personal testimony. It is not long: ruclips.net/video/Kv97FBaw3SU/видео.html - (It would do you well to stick to the KJV because modern translations are translations of a translation and man in his wickedness has changed the meanings of some essential sections of God's word in very deceitful ways. Only the KJV is the pure word of God.) Thank-you and God bless.

      maybe not the 'asking into the heart' but Scripture talks of Him sending a Helper, who will reside in your life. I went through the 'asking' thing and while I didnt see or feel fireworks...the very next day saw me waking up and not feeling alone anymore.

    Churches of men, also called christians, hear The Truth regarding the matter from your Redeemer Himself whom you call Jesus. He has spoken to our generation, more of His Volumes is found at the bottom of this comment;
    "1/7/10 From YahuShua HaMashiach, Our Lord and Savior
    The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
    For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
    Thus says The Lord: Beloved ones, I am The Answer you search for, The Truth you seek - The Only Way, The Only Truth, The Only Life. Apart from Me there is nothing of any value; apart from Me there is no life. Therefore who you choose, not what you choose, is the answer. For who you choose defines what you do. And whosoever chooses another, and not Me in truth, has chosen themselves, and has done according to their own will.
    Thus those who embrace My words
    Have taken the first steps in the
    Knowledge of how to truly abide in Me...
    Indeed, those who have written
    This wisdom upon their heart
    Have already crossed the threshold...
    I am The Lord."
    ~
    "2/4/10 From YahuShua HaMashiach, Our Lord and Savior
    The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
    For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
    This question was asked of The Lord: Lord, by putting You first, and refusing to take part in the modern holidays of men, are we dishonoring our parents and family who say we should take part?
    Thus says The Lord YahuShua: Beloved, a sincere desire to be free from the iniquity of this world is good and well-pleasing to The Lord. For one who truly loves Me seeks to please Me. And those in whom I dwell will run from these holidays of men, which I hate, despising them. Yet one who remains in disagreement with My Word in the Volumes can in no wise be gathered, for they have denied Me. And any who reject My Word, in favor of the doctrines and traditions of men, embrace that which runs contrary to Me.
    For I tell you the truth, anyone who refuses, disagrees with, or speaks against My Letters or My prophet has rejected Me in favor of their own way. Pride has ensnared them, and arrogance has become their close friend. Behold, they have embraced the world and its evil ways, and seek not the approval of their Father in Heaven, but of men. And all who seek the approval of men must walk through the valley with them; and all who remain friends of the world have made themselves enemies of God, as it is written.[1] Therefore all lovers of the world shall surely be left in it; they shall not escape! For assuredly, I say to you, this world shall be shaken and the glory of men shall be broken down! And in like manner shall all those left in the world be humbled, severely abased - many broken and uplifted, and many more broken and condemned, says The Lord.
    Therefore concerning these holidays
    Of men, which I hate...
    Let all those who have received
    The love of the Truth depart from them;
    Let the division be made clear[2]...
    And let those who say they know Me,
    Yet make no effort to pick up their
    Cross and follow Me,[3] bear the weight
    Of their burden in the Day of The Lord.
    Therefore, concerning the question of breaking one Commandment in favor of another, the answer is this: I AM FIRST, of which The Commandments also testify. For those who truly love Me seek to obey My voice, and those who obey My voice have also fulfilled The Moral Law. For I am, and have always been the goal at which the Torah aims.[4] And all those in whose heart I am foremost serve Me without constraint, seeking always to place Me first, above all else. For these walk in My ways, doing those same things I did. They do not add to the Word which I have commanded them, nor do they take away from it. Behold, they keep The Commandments of God, as He commanded them and as they are written, and not as the churches of men would have them be."

    Jesus said, if you love me, you will obey me.
    John said, he that does not obey Christ's commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
    We must endure to the end, with a love, faithful, obedient relationship with Christ, striving to walk as He did.
    If we claim to be followers of Christ, then we must obey what Jesus commanded us, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Until we understand what it means to obey Jesus literal teachings, we will never understand Paul. We dont start with Paul, then explain away Jesus.
    Building your house on the rock, Jesus, then you might understand the epistals.

      Under the new covenant the commandments are to believe in Jesus and love one another. We are not under the old Law.I John 3;23

      @@carolbattle8010 You're right, we are not under the Mosiak law, we are now under Christ's law, New Covenant, New Testament. What Jesus and His apostles teach us, we obey, we practice in our daily lives. When we do this it becomes written on our hearts and becomes a way of life.
