"We want to see the choreography, we want to see the movement, we want to see martial arts" YES so sick of films rapidly cutting through the fight to hide all the mistakes because they couldn't choreograph it properly, John Wick showed us exactly how it should be done.

3:00 Darrin, the stunt coordinator claimed Keanu Reeves killed 6000 people in the club. We can understand this under two aspects: 1. Darrin was joking about the scene being a bloodbath of Russians and Ricochets, with the kill count being almost endless. 2. He meant it literally. Back in the scene of Francis the Bodyguard during their dialogue, the word “Sixty” out of “over sixty pounds” were marked. This means Francis was informing John of the amounts of security he will have to face once within the vicinity of the club. We also know that Keanu Reeves wanted to shoot this scene perfectly, and won’t stop until that is achieved. Darrin may actually mean that they reshoot the scene 100 times; or at least nearly 100 times. Now do the math: 60 Guards multiplied by 100 equals 6000. Darrin maybe wasn’t lying after all. Tl;dr: The Stunt Coordinator’s claim of getting 6000 guards killed on the club scene can either be dismissed as a joke, or can be understood that they reshooted the scene so many times that when they are finished, the John Wick kill count rose to 6000 on that scene alone.

5:33 Some may say it looks fake but it looks really cool to me, like a stylised shot rather than a sloppy cut. It also makes it look like he fell real hard.
I’m so glad this director flipping gets it!! One of my biggest pet peeves in action movies is when you can’t see the fight choreography clearly, whether because of the camera angles and cuts, poor lighting, or other reasons. I _adore_ good fight (esp hand-to-hand) choreography in movies and tv shows-it’s one of my favorite things about them period! And to have the choreography wasted by being shot in a way where you can’t even see it clearly is extremely frustrating for me. Thank God Almighty that the people working on the Wick films actually get this...and seem to share my love for great action of this kind. It’s also wonderful for Keanu’s sake (and that of the other actors and stuntspeople). As phenomenal a job he did and as hard as he trained, what a shame it would’ve been not to make full use of that and show it off in a wonderful way. ^^
The long takes are what seperates John Wick from the rest🙌🏾

+Sniper Sharp107 The balcony throw was a mash cut.
NovaEnforcer Apart from the dog shit at the start of the movie.
The movie is so good! All three of them! Keanu is just too badass! Keep supporting John Wick saga!
5:33 Some may say it looks fake but it looks really cool to me, like a stylised shot rather than a sloppy cut. It also makes it look like he fell real hard.
It looks badass even when it’s behind the scenes

So Dope.
