Do you have a cold today mr narrator? When you speak of the narcissist going silent it sounds like you mean when they discard you. My stepfather did things this way. Virtually every weekend he would bait my mother into an argument. Then he would get angry and a her the silent treatment for the whole weekend. Consequently, i always thought that this is what giving someone the silent treatment meant. Im not sure that discarding someone is the same thing.
