    I think a follow up video to this one could be "Getting your RN, via an associates degree vs. a bachelors degree". In my case I chose to get my associates in nursing, work as an RN then go back for my BSN. Which leads me to another video topic idea and that is "how to chose a BSN school". Mainly because I need help with choosing and welcome all advice!

    He was so right - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN EXPENSIVE NURSING DEGREE !!!! I am a nursing student and so many people I know that hire nurses at the top hospitals in the country repeatedly told me they don’t care if you went to Yale or a community college - I took their advice and am in a GREAT INEXPENSIVE program with a SMALL CLASS SIZE with AMAZING PROFESSORS !!! It’s possible guys you can do it and you don’t have to break the bank! Good luck
    (Read this back and I got really amped up but I actually am serious hahaha okay that’s all)

    At my community college program, we have all day classes. Like all of our classes are grouped into one! We go to school from 8-3 once a week with an one hour break!

    Something to add is that NCLEX passing score doesn't mean to over look the passing rate of the school. I went to a school where the passing rate was 98% first try, but the passing rate for the school was 32%. This goes to show that they fail out people who can't take exams, so NCLEX passing rate isn't everything. You can't take the NCLEX if you don't graduate!!!

      Makes a lot of sense some schools will kick students out if they fail one class

    At my nursing orientation, we got to ask the 2nd year students questions, and someone asked why they chose this school over the others. One of the 2nd years said, "because they were the only one that let me in!" I think this video is good as a general guide for where you apply, but as far as really making a decision, wait to see who admits you. I did exclude some schools right off the bat because the tuition was astronomical ($30-40k/yr!) or because their accreditation wasn't as well recognized.
    And as an added bonus, my school uses navy blue scrubs, which is my favorite color.

    This came at a great time! I’m finishing my prerequisites and have applied to schools, but I’m not sure which one I’ll pick! I’ll be happy with any of them because that means the application process is over and I’m smart enough😂 but this was soo helpful!

    I come from Italy and here the situation is different. The university is not so expensive and only 3 years later you can choose a master's degree in a single topic that you prefer. I think your school is better and people appreciate more nursing than here. But I love my job a lot and I hope that one day Italy will understand that nursing school is very important for society😍

    Eeekkk! I’m a nursing advisor. Slight correction: REGIONAL accreditation is better than national! I know it’s counter intuitive but it’s true. UCF and Seminole State and most other public schools are regionally accredited. Plus you want a nursing accreditation which in the US would be ACEN or CCNE.

    • @brianalucas4055
      @brianalucas4055 4 года назад

      What if the program is not ACEN or CCNE. The program I’m looking at is accredited thru the Higher Learning Commissions ? Is this acceptable

    • @Balilibee
      @Balilibee 4 года назад

      @@brianalucas4055 The school may be accredited through the HLC but the nursing program should have a separate ACEN or CCNE accreditation. If the program you are looking at does NOT have either an ACEN or CCNE accreditation, I would pass on it.

      @@dxrksideofthemoon not that I know of. You'd want to look for a community college that's partnered with a university. Fastest way would be to call community colleges in your area and ask the director of the nursing program if they've heard of something like that in your state.

    The college I go to their nursing program is very competitive like you need like a high GPA to get in, but they have a high NCLEX pass rate (I can’t remember if it’s 100% but it’s in the 90’s) and I can’t wait to get into the program next year (hopefully).

    If their teachers just care about getting through the class and going home.. or if they are going to be those rare teachers who will be the ones you will look back at with tremendous gratitude.
    My nursing school had the former.

    What does that mean higher nclex rate?

    • @brieannaperez6848
      @brieannaperez6848 5 лет назад

      Cari it’s the percentage of nursing students that graduated from that specific college that passed the nclex. So that means, if your school has a 90% nclex pass rate, that 90% of the nursing students from that school passed the nclex
