Dual battery USB Fan with Timer - CDRKING

  • A dual battery rechargeable USB fan from CDRKING with built in timer and battery charge indicator.
    I was able to run the fan for 11 hours straight on the lowest setting. A very impressive run time! It also charges much faster than the older single battery version.
    The single battery version would charge at 0.4 - 0.5A. This dual battery version charges at 1.2 - 1.4A. Of course the charge current reduces as the battery becomes closer to it's fully charged state.
    The built-in timer is a useful feature, especially at night when you might only want to run the fan before you drift off to sleep and don't want to wake up to a dead battery. It's not an accurate timer but it gets the job done.
    The battery capacity indicator is extremely useful, allowing you to know the charge state of your batteries when in-use or when charging.
    Available from CDRKING stores in the Philippines for P300. You'll likely find it on eBay and Amazon in other countries, under different brand names.

    I never thought I'd geek out even on the simplest example of tech. My cheap black similar one battery model died after a month and made me do a research. My white one is still running after 3 years. Great to see that someone else is also interested in this, nice video :)

    That trumps my dual battery fan which I bought off the street. Timer and battery level indicator looks great. Wish I had a Portapow to see how well my fan stacks up. Nice. More videos please.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  8 лет назад

      I'm curious, how much did the one on the street cost you? And would you estimate it has a similar run time of 11 hours on the low setting?

    • @makerjason1034
      @makerjason1034 8 лет назад

      I bought mine for Php230 but only had one battery in it at the time I bought it. So the CDRking fan is looking good. One thing that would probably trump the CDRking one is it has a USB out port for charging stuff. It is only now that I've seen a fan like it with 2 batteries and coming from CDRking should be better consider it has some warranty. Even if its 7 days I'll take it. On the runtime I'll have to do some tests. I'll get back to you on that.

      Jason Fama I went on a fan hunt at Greenhills the other day and they have some with the built in USB port to act as a powerbank. I already have some really high quality powerbanks so it's not a feature I'm interested in. But I can understand why other people would want that :) The thing I'm waiting for is an oscillating version of the fan. I've seen one in UP Town Center but the lady is selling it for P400 which seems a bit high to me and it doesn't produce much air flow.

    • @makerjason1034
      @makerjason1034 8 лет назад

      Already tested my fans and both of them just made it a few minutes shy of 5 hours on the lowest setting. with only 5 - 10 mins gap between them dying down. So the batteries that came with the fan and those recycled from some CDR king power banks performed nearly the same. I'd hate to say it but my fans were left in the dust compared to the 11 hours of your CDR king fans. Good job CDR-king. I am now considering buying one of those as there might be something good about those batteries. Thanks for sharing Gadget Addict.

    Did the first version have a smilie face on the grill like this one - did I miss that? Technology with personality :-)

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  8 лет назад +1

      lol nah, the first version didn't have the smile. I'd actually rather it wasn't there, because it has the potential to block some of the air. But I doubt it really makes much of a difference.

    (off this USB fan topic)
    have you ever bought the USB clip fan? it is a generic like you can find at RUclips people review at 'skygenius' clip fan.
    I got 1 same as that but no brand on it,it comes with a 18650 battery with no indication of the capacity(but normally they only provide either 2000 or 2200mah,i think they don't give big capacity battery for a budget gadget)
    on the box written the low setting it can run for 6hrs(this fan only run on low and high 2 speed) but I have tried to run low fan speed non stop (light breeze) it can run up to 8hrs,so I have very happy with that :)
    hope you can review that fan on the next review :)
    btw enjoy your current fan first :)
