@@eastonwashere Yeah, even small ones. They give you that sudden blast of power that’s always fun. A 50 gives you a little blast. A 250 gives you a big blast. I can only imagine the blast from a 500 GP 2 stroke.
As someone who's almost 60 and grew up on Yamaha RD's and still owns a '76 RD400 I'd have to say those guard rails look a little intimidating. Reminds me of going from Willow Springs( where you have desert to run off in) to Riverside Raceway (where they had guard rails and concrete walls). This also reminds me of knee dragging my YSR 50 through Griffith Park and on Mulholland Dr. What fun times. Nice video.
I got my riding experience not in Willow Springs but being 10 years your junior I enjoyed my riding up and down west coast of Thailand and Malaysia from the underbone 100cc Yamaha sports to the RGV250 complete with Pepsi livery. ( Just a wannabe 500cc😁 ) ... I enjoy the 2 stroke more than a ZXR750cc which I bought later. All I know and see is that no matter where u ride, the enjoyment is the same ..... except we don't have snow to content with.✌️
@@princesssolace4337 My YSR50 was probably the funnest bike I ever owned. I could do knee dragging, stoppies, wheelies, etc. all at low speeds. I accidently did a Flying W in front of the Chinese Theater and it sure looked like I did it on purpose, lol.
@@RedBud315 I learned to wheelie on a Yamaha Pasolla. It's a 2 stroke 50cc scooter from mid 80s. I'm not sure if Yamaha market it in North America. 1 unit of YSR 50 can get u 3 Pasolla. We seems to owe Yamaha in some way or another being thousands mile apart on a different continent.😁✌️

Sudco Intl. which is Mikuni distributor took my bike for a couple of months to make a D&D expansion chamber for it and changed out stock 16mm carb for a 22mm with a K&N filter and changed gearing. It went up from 50 MPH to 60 MPH and could wheelie 2nd gear as long as I wanted it to. Stock it barely lifted the front wheel off the ground for a second or two in 2nd gear.

This just wouldn't be possible today. Someone would call the cops and the punishment for getting caught would be insane (at least here in Germay) Not to mention they banned 2 strokes and tax motorcycles and fuel like crazy. People just can't let people enjoy anything anymore

i wonder what these people would think if they saw someone riding in the style they ride now instead of body center on the bike almost and head high as i can see many are adopting that position but you can see a couple getting their body off the bike more just like the new riding style

Nothing better than going through the gears on a 2 stroke (rz350). Today, people keep it in 2nd or 3rd on their 600 - 1000 which is boring and utterly lump.
