I can testify to Japan's white worship, I was looking at some shrine in Asakusa, and I was literally pulled away by this guy who wanted to take a picture of me, and this couple, a guy in his 40s and his girlfriend in her 20s kept following me around Enoshima insisting they'd show me around, I had to pretend I was going home, get on the train, then ride one stop, got off, went back to shake them off. Also they seemed very eager to engage with me, but when they realized I wasn't American, they quickly lost interest for some reason.
