- Last week we began the story of Cho'gall, in which we talked about his time on draenor, running into the shadow council and leaving it all behind to follow the whispers of the old gods. This week we're going to try and figure out what happened next, his plans during the cataclysm and even talk about alternate cho'gall.

Cho'gall is one of my favourite characters in WoW. Mainly for the voice acting. It's totally perfect. Just incredible work. He's such a brilliant character with awesome personalities.

I said this in part one and i'll say it again because a lot of people supported me. Nobbel, we want the story of Lor'themar Teron, The Reagent Lord of Quel'Thalas. Some people said that there weren't much lore to him but i'm sure Nobbel can shed some light on things. Anyways, i know you look to comments and i'll be glad if you would consider this.
Wow. Chogall has been through a lot. He is mainly a leader of the Twilight's Hammer. My favorite one in the game is Feralis. I like it because the forest is so pretty. I have fought ogres many a time in there. I have sumbled on Chogall and his sermon a few times with different alts. Now I see that was a cult meeting for zealots that want the world to end. I have seen Chogall in the game. He has two voices, a low one and a high one. That is distinctive. I wonder why Chogall has eyes on his body. Is that due to Old God curruption? The eyes are not there in the Dranor alternative. I didn't know Chogall was so popular. That is intreaging to see him in other Blizzard games.
Hehe, so funny that Cho'Gall at 23:33 just waves at the player. You see? He's not that bad :P (lol at "we're writing a book")

Definitely an interesting character. After only two separate occasions playing Heroes of the Storm my brother and I have really nailed down Cho'gall. He handles the body while I hit everything I can with magic. Think one match we only died once, had only 6 kills, but helped out team with a whopping 34 assists. For the most part we just single laned since we could hit hard and leave our team to group up in another lane.
Watching this video, it was cool seeing how the voice actors for Cho'Gall improved at their performances as time went on.
You can hear way more power and more distinct emphases in their deliveries.
Guess the Old Gods make for good vocal coaches. :P
Great video Nobbel, Cho'gall is a interesting villain. Looking forward to a full story of Deathwing the Worldbreaker at some point in the future!

Great lore video, but why didn't Garona join in the final fight with Cho'gall? Wasn't he supposed to be her last arch nemesis, the last Shadow Council member alive? With his death she was supposed to finally be free, it feels like she is missing out the great moment of the final heated battle a bit.
@Nobbel87 at 25:04 you mentioned that the Naaru was turned into a voidlord, i belive you ment it was turned into a Void God. The void lords are a completely different species who corrupt worlds using The Old Gods wheras Void Gods are the oposing force to the light. Just thought i should mention this incase people got confused ^^

It refers to Med'an, who is Half Human, a quarter Orc and a quarter Draenie. Three realms in one.

Hey great video. On a different topic I was just wondering if you were going to do a video on the story of Vindicator Maraad and/or Yrel, especially since Maraad's story seems to be over. Also, what is your opinion on Blizzard ignoring any time travel paradox/characters meeting the younger versions of themselves in WOD? Where is alternate Maraad? Where is young Garrosh? How can you go back in time and arrive in a version that is already different from your own past? How does that make any sense? If its different when you get there then you not only went back in time but also into another dimension/alternate reality right? If Blizzard didn't want to confuse people then they failed hard on that point since anything could be different in this alternate past. Also doesn't this defeat the purpose of the whole expansion? You aren't seeing our Durotan in his prime but alternate Durotan, etc. Why couldn't they just retcon the parts of established lore they didn't like when presenting this past version of Draenor, it's not like they didn't already do that, like the orcs being originally brown (or white?)... I will stop rambling now. Thanks
The AU thing wasn't just time travel We went to an alternate universe, but also back in time. Garrosh in particular was never born in that reality. Kairoz advised him not to look too closely at which details were the same and which were not.

Shitty day...
So I have a HUGE question about the whole Warlords storyline. Seeing as how the Shadow Council was powering the Dark Portal, wouldn't it have been a good idea to just have killed them? I mean, each of them was someone our characters knew and they were all preoccupied with the energy being drained from them so they couldn't defend themselves. So why not just go up and kill them? You'd take away the Dark Portal's power source, while taking care of people we KNOW are enemies. It's not like we had any obligation to save them like we did and I don't think even the holiest of holy paladins or darkest of dark warlocks would disagree with that. So ya, why not? Seems super weird.
When did I say that they killed innocent people that did nothing wrong? Do you mean that I suggested that we kill innocent people?
It would still be plainly obvious that they are incredibly powerful upon first meeting them that whatever the remaining sources of power (we don't know that there are three of them since we meet them one at time) couldn't provide, one person could. Then there's the fact that after releasing Teron he refers to himself as being part of the Shadow Council. So even if we let him live, we then find THAT out, and then proceed to find two other members of the Council that we are very familiar with. So even if there was a doubt in our mind that these version of them aren't the same/similar to ours, the fact that we meet the rest of the Shadow Council would take away any doubts of this!

I think the theory is that they would have been protected by the spellwork, so we'd have had to release them first, then fight three of the most powerful Warlocks of all time, and the entire forces of the Iron Horde. The game didn't convey especially well how much of a defeat Tanaan is. Our soldiers are supposed to be getting slaughtered left and right; we can barely hold them off. We're in no position to take on the Shadow Council.
I cant wait to see you kick us off on 7.3. It will be awesome.

As much as I like the idea, the weapon has too much association with the Void, which only really works for Shadow Priests. Paladins are too holy to associate themselves anything that shadowy. Perhaps if it had been purified into a "hammer of dawn" ? Or maybe if we had a void paladin spec it would have fit. No sec comes to mind for which it's more appropriate than what they got.
Ye well, that's already an in-game drop. So it's only natural that they'd choose something else. But I agree it'd be a very cool artifact weapon

I wonder what became of the Twilight’s Hammer cult after Legion and the Stormreavers after WC3? There were a fair few on the Broken Isles, or did we kill them all?
You say that Ku're turns into a Void Lord, but we know from the Chronicles that Void Lords are, not only significantly more powerful, but that they can't remain in the physical universe. Naaru just become "Void Creatures", not Void Lords. If they were then they would be more powerful than the Old Gods.
I like the idea of Medan I just think they needed to tone that power of his down

I think Cho’gall might have been talking about Xhul’horac given that he is a servant of the void who ended up being pulled full of Fel.
The "He" Cho'Gall was talking about might be the same one who is referred to from the whispers in the Emerald Nightmare raid about being our real creator. The whispers might refer to the Old Gods as a Whole but it uses the singular. Maybe as there is Elune as a mighty Light being there is also a really powerful Void being.
I think our "true creator" refers to Yogg Saron, who is responsible for the curse of flesh.
We do know that there are several "Void Lords" above the Old Gods though, not to be confused with the tiny Voidlords that warlocks summon.
Even though Yogg Saron wouldn't be some1 known to Alternate Cho'Gall and the whispers also refer to this "Him" after Yogg was re-sealed.
I'm well aware of what the real Void Lords are :P
I think Cho'Gall is talking about a void lord, you're right, but Il'Gynoth says "Flesh is his gift. He is your true creator." It sounds far more like Yogg Saron to me.
True that, in hearthstone there are also others using "him" referring to any of the Old Gods rather than a superior entity.

One of the best villains in warcraft, also I've always wondered what's up with his heads, are they telepathically linked or are the separate minds entirely.
Murphio im assuming seperate minds. As cho is pretty calm and gall is crazy. They also disagree with eachother sometimes.
Also gall was more of a follower of c'thun as cho. Cho supposibly does care about gall and their body wherin gall doesnt seem to mind them dying for the hour of twilight.

At the start, Blizzard seems to be doing a good job establishing the foundation for WoD, but then over time, the story just suddenly... stopped, i feel like there is internal problem with the developer team that forced them to scrap a lot of content from the game because of time issues.
Chronicle might be able to fix this, we'll see.

No, looking through the eye is during the Cataclysm. Perhaps Nobbel misspoke? The time he spent in the Tomb of Sargeras, when his chest was scarred, was mentioned in part one, but it was long before Legion, during the events of warcraft 1.

what is end goal of old gods... I really don't get it, they want to kill evething and rule but if you destroy all there is nothing to rule over...
The end goal is corrupting everything that the titans have ever made, complete and total corruption.
They're trying to consume the universe in shadow, not kill everything. They want all to fall to the Void, which we see a glimpse of in the Nighthold during the fight with Star Augur Etraeus.
It's the Burning Legion which wants everything eradicated, so that the Old Gods can never succeed. Sargeras believes that no universe at all is better than one consumed by the void.
after this universe corruption what happens? Next generations are born in corrupted worlds, live corrupted lifes so will it make corruption normality? Burning Legion has a clear goal as you said but Old Gods seems not...
The Old Gods are not doing it for utilitarian reasons. They are just beings of pure hatred and cruelty that want to see everything go to shit.
There's meant to be an element of mystery about the Void. We know it's bad, and if the universe were shadowy it would just generally suck for everyone. The Old Gods just feed off misery, the Void's nature just seems to be to want to consume. I imagine we'll learn more in the inevitable void expansion.
Really now Nobbel, you go ahead and read texts in such a great female voice if needed, but Gall's Text at the start of the video you don't read in his high pitched crazy voice? I am disappointed

So dreanor baisically was a reset for used characters(bad guys), so they dont need to build any new ones.
Sort of. Mostly they wanted Gul'dan back since he's a big enough character that he deserved to make it into World of Warcraft, but had already died. There's a lot of cool characters on Draenor that they wanted to use, heroes too (the Horde fight alongside Durotan and the Alliance with Maraad and Akama). It's just a shame that developent of WoD didn't go as planned.
Maybe if you had done the story for Cata it would've been semi-enjoyable and not the only expansion where i literally stopped playing. Lol

Ya.. lets me honest here. The comics of WoW are as well written as many of the old garbage Star Wars EU ones. Just full of Mary Sue or Gary Stu type characters that honestly are so poorly written. They start to make the Star Wars holiday special seem watchable. Me'dan is a terrible character and so are all the stories written around him.
