While it was given shortly after King Follett’s funeral and addressed his death, it was not part of the funeral service itself but a conference sermon that expanded on themes of death and the afterlife using King Follett as an anchor.

You know who else was big into marriage and family? God! He thought marriage was so important he married Adam and Eve himself. And God said for men to leave their fathers and mothers and cleave unto their wife, not their Partners for Life. God said all other kinds of relationships go against nature and leave people desolate, never producing children, except through forbidden extramarital, though more natural, relationships. And the first commandment in the Bible is "Be fruitful and replenish the earth." I recently watched a video from some sort of Christian channel that actually gave a factual description of our beliefs, so I had to Like the video and post a comment thanking them for doing so.
Cardon, you really need to figure out how to let your other hosts speak. I'm a dime store psychologist, and it seems as if you have the worst case of adhd. It is so irritating that you don't let them finish a sentence without railroading them. Eventually, even though they believe in your cause and your talent, they will leave you because you cannot shut up.
I can’t believe that not one of you pointed out the fact that Wes Huff when attempting to butcher quote an article of faith said it was the 10th article of faith, when the one he horribly misquoted was the 8th article of faith.
Perhaps that's because he's speaking off the cuff on something that he doesn't claim to be an expert in while on a tangent in a podcast that's on a completely different topic. Scrutinizing every word as though this is some carefully articulated argument (instead of a casual conversation, which is what it is) is ridiculous
@ who cares that he’s speaking off the cuff! The guy literally didn’t get one thing right that he mockingly commented on regarding the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints…I’d happily give him a little grace getting the number of the article of faith wrong or misquoting it a little…but the guy wasn’t even in the ballpark on one single thing he said about Latter Day Saint theology. And I’m sorry but much of what he was saying comes from a bastardized perspective of Latter Day Saint history, and he claims to be a historian. I’m clearly aware that he’s not a Latter Day Saint historian, but as a professed historian, what he knows better to do then, is not comment on things he clearly has not given the kind of time and energy to that he can intelligently speak on, like the Bible…but what he did do was knowingly repeat the same old tropes that come from those who have put no genuine honest effort into trying to glean the truth from what credible historical resources we do have regarding Latter Day Saint history. So, as a historian, who is very aware of the methodology that must be followed to remain a credible reliable trustworthy historian, he knows better…and should have admitted that he has not done his due diligence, and not attempted to speak on a religion he clearly objectively knows nothing about. I would’ve respected that…but that’s not what we got. Rogan served him up some softballs and he saw that as an opportunity to knock it out of the park for his home team the ignorant Protestant evangelicals who would lap up what he’s spitting as truth. And so no, I’m gonna afford him no grace, call him out! He’s no better now, than Billy Carson! Both now, have exposed themselves, but Wes did it on a much larger platform. Unfortunately, it will go mostly unnoticed, because the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint is the one religion people can do this to, and everyone outside our faith could care less, and that is mostly due to the fact that all the listeners are just as ignorant of our true beliefs and history as Wes and Joe Rogan are.

I think Wesley Huff is referencing Quentin L Cook's latest talk, where he basically said you shouldn't read anti mormon material online. I think Elder Cook's attitude is common for boomer members of the Church, but also misguided, because it does give people the impression that the Church is not telling the full truth.

Ultimately he believes that anonymous Gospel authors should be trusted because some church fathers attributed authorship 150 years after the fact without citing how they know or any evidence and so therefore…….these should be trusted- no different of a faith perspective then an LDS would for his perspective- how about say hey that’s great I may not agree with you but I respect your perspective and faithfulness
The thing with Wess isn’t that his ideas are based in faith, but that his ideas and the message of the church that he spreads is based in BAD faith. He twists quotes into falsehoods, and ultimately either doesn’t know what he’s talking about, while presenting himself as an expert, or he’s willfully lying about the church. Elder Gilbert should be called, "Mesa Gilbert", cause he "runs the table" with BYU and SL Tribune. And it continues the theme of Kwaku's most hated cities.
All other Universities (with few exceptions) require an assent to DEI initiatives in order to be hired. This is no different. At least BYU is an obviously religiously associated institution is just more honest than the other institutions which pretend to be areligious and secular.
I live in a small midwestern town with a private Christian university very similar to the Baptists in beliefs about drinking, dancing, swearing, no cohabitation with the opposite sex before marriage and many other teachings that the students and professors/employees are expected to maintain to attend school/work there! Cardon is right a total nothing burger….people in SLC really need to get out of Utah and touch grass in the rest of the nation and realize that the church is no different than any other private Christian school!
The "getting our own planet" is a misinterpretation of the doctrine of exaltation. We won't "get" a planet. We'll create worlds without end. Kwaku, in D&C 132 it says we'll create our own spirit children. What else would we do but send them to a mortal world to be tested like we are currently are being tested
Well, a lot of high ranking Church leaders, and ordinary believers have taken this "misinterpretation" very seriously. Spencer W. Kimball is an obvious example. Why didn't God correct them?
Ultimately whether you create it or get it, you still will have planets of your own. Mormons like to use word play but in reality we all know what it means.
@Themanyfacesofego this is just an outshoot of the idea that a Prophet is infallible. This is not a doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and therefore not a problem for people of the faith.
The Salt Lake Tribune is nothing more than the old ‘Nauvoo Expositor’. - unfortunately Porter Rockwell isn’t still around so he could ‘take care of business!’
I just want to point out that 'sola scriptura' itself says nothing about the Bible. It says, 'scripture alone'. So what is scripture? Is it words from God to His prophets? Ask someone who believes only in the Bible about the various references IN THE BIBLE to scripture not in the Bible. There are a bunch of them. If those were found, would they count? What about other books that were rejected by the Nicaean council? Might those not also be scripture? What if the missing references were some of those rejected at Nicaea? Would they count then?
If we continue to omit baseline rules... there is no accountability. It has become too common these days to allow others to find an excuse and contest the rules. If you don't like the rules and guidelines then move on! We have to stop accommodating those who continue to contest and want things their way. We need to go back to the days when "Not everyone gets a trophy" IS THE NORM.
The crazy thing is Billy Carson is just confused but correct about the Christ consciousness coming back, but we know it’s with the restoration through Joseph smith so maybe we can help Billy and guide him to truth
Elder Gilbert is unfathomably based for this. My only complaint about him was his decision to go with Brightspace as the LMS for BYU-Idaho back in 2015. That said, without that decision I wouldn't have a job at BYUI, so I guess it ultimately worked out well for me.
Cardon there are plenty of good life coaches out there. I am working very hard to build a business in life coaching that is about accountability and helping people have a better marriage and family. Just want you to know there are good people out there.
Brigham Young Journal of Discourses Volume 17, p. 143, from a sermon given on July 13, 1874. “When they receive their crowns, their dominions, they then will be prepared to frame earths like unto ours and to people them in the same manner as we have been brought forth by our parents, by our Father and God.”
The whole idea is tied in with partnering with God in future acts of creation in eternity. The problem is when the critics try to cartoonishly twist it into God awarding planet trophies. See the difference? probably not.
@ I think if you read it again and try to understand it literally by what Brigham Young the prophet says then maybe you will see what it literally says. Don’t worry I’ve been a member for 40 years or so. This is something I’m very familiar with. There are many things in the church that point to this. The funny thing is how the Ward Radio radio guys will act all flabbergasted when someone says these kinds of things and then when they try to debunk it they actually confirm it.
@ Brigham Young “After men have got their exaltations and their crowns-have become Gods, even the sons of God-are made Kings of kings and Lords of lords, they have the power then of propagating their species in spirit; and that is the first of their operations with regard to organizing a world. Power is then given to them to organize the elements, and then commence the organization of tabernacles. How can they do it? Have they to go to that earth which they organized, and where they were obedient? Yes, they have.” (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 275)
I’ve been in evangelical churches all my life, and never been told not to read books from other religions. I don’t know if that’s necessarily true that Christians do the same things as latter-day Saints as far as encouraging us not to read outside sources. I’ve loved to study all religions all of my adult life and I’ve never met Christian’s who thought that was a problem.

Third, I have had a miserable life and been searching for truth all throughout. Going from church to church and not finding it, until I believe I found it in its completeness in the LDS faith. Go do something useful with your time. I see you comment often on Ward Radios videos. Do you think God cares about an ounce of time you spend on here bickering with us LDS folk? Jesus commanded the two greatest commandments, and said if you love Me, keep My commandments. How do you live that by being on RUclips being a tr0ll?
Edit: my description is not a “world” where I am really with Christ, though is it? My original idea of Heaven was Christ comes out on stage every once in a while, we cheer and then He leaves. That Heaven does sound depressing to me. That Heaven sounds stuck, and falsely has God as a presence in the stars and Christ visits every once in a while? The scriptures talk about God on a throne and Christ at His right hand. I believe in a more glorious Heaven
@@TheRobmcknzIt was depressing! I didn’t know what the purpose of life was if I go through misery and pain all my life to eternally be in a concert in the clouds. I was so lost and found the church a few years later! That other commenter is such a tr0ll and t3rminally on ward radios comments
So sad you went whoring after other gods.
Hopefully you had a sincere saving relationship with Jesus and you are still heaven bound to the eternity you seem to not want.
But ultimately I know you will love it when you get there.
1:10:18 slight correction, the King Follett Discourse was delivered by Joseph Smith on April 7, 1844, during a general conference of the Church in Nauvoo, Illinois. While it was given shortly after King Follett’s funeral and addressed his death, it was not part of the funeral service itself but a conference sermon that expanded on themes of death and the afterlife using King Follett as an anchor.
Y'all need to start a campaign to get you or your frequent guest to go on Rogan.
These guys are not cut like that.
“You believe you get your own planet!”
“Yeah, we actually believed Christ when he said we would be joint heirs with Him and that all that the Father has would be ours. Do you not believe God is capable of creating and populating a world? Cuz it’s kind of a big part of Genesis.”
My buddy (lds) guides Joe on his hunts here in Utah, sooo he understands a little more regarding our faith than he’s leading on.
Ricky Schroeder?
@ nope.
Joe seems like he always knows more than he lets on.
More excellent content. Thanks Ward Radio and Elder Gilbert! The Salt Lake Tribune has always been and remains nothing but anti. Thanks Cardon and the gang. ❤😊
Can you remember the Christian channel? I’d love to see that video.
@weareall101 Churches Of Faith.
They refer to JS as a really bad person, a conman. Can anyone name me any other conman that his con has produced such goodness?
@@mylifeliving be specific, what goodness?
@@taddbarnettpickleball3600can you explain why you're on RUclips bitching about random shit you don't actually care about just to hate wes instead of being the one to quote it on Joe rogan yourself so your natives aren't stuck up your own ass? Can you explain that?
Covering the fact he said it's the 10th when it's the 8th is so trivial compared to the things WR covered in this video.
@@DIYAroundTheHome you missed my entire point…it was the fact that he didn’t get one thing he said about the restored church of Jesus Christ right that made was seeming small and unimportant, a big deal.
I came here to hear Cardon react to Rogan’s interview. No need to cut it off. If there is more Cardon wants to say then LET HIM COOK!
It's the same principle as minor changes in the temple phraseology. Improvements in clarity of wording in the most recent iterations do not mean the original script was wrong the whole time.
Much rather have Jonah go on Joe. Especially being able to speak on the apocrypha.
I was 100% taught that as a seminary student - everyone gets their own planet- spirit children- reproduction everything
Just a planet? I'm pretty sure there is much more than that.
Right? One planet feels like a letdown...
Clark Gilbert shal now be known as Gilbert the GR8
I second this motion! 😂🙌
He was the President when I was at BYUI. The dude is awesome.
Get Jonah on the Joe Rogan show!!!!
I think Wesley Huff is referencing Quentin L Cook's latest talk, where he basically said you shouldn't read anti mormon material online. I think Elder Cook's attitude is common for boomer members of the Church, but also misguided, because it does give people the impression that the Church is not telling the full truth.
Why would a church that is trying to hide their history publish the Joseph Smith papers?
Evangs are so self righteous, it's sickening 😝
I've never had a group of people condemn me to hell more than the Evangelicals
As an Canadian exmo guys great podcast- excellent job..totally bang on as far as the supposed BYU issue it’s exactly that a non burger…surprise a private university gets to decide on the terms of the employment of its staff…wow don’t like it don’t work there…as for Wess ya ultimately his position is based in faith just as an LDS member does.
I’m not sure which is worse, but neither is good.
Joe Rogan should have you guys on.
Imagine calling someone fake because you don't agree with them. "Trust me bro I'm correct and you're wrong"
In recent memory, Clark G. Gilbert came to my YSA stake for a stake conference which was a great time. Don’t got a nickname for him for ya but I agree, he is based.
In seminary we talked about searching devine resources when faced with questions and doubts. And here is something that I realized, if I wanted to learn about Protestant beliefs I would ask the Protestant not the atheist. And if I wanted to learn truth and wisdom the same principles applies, and a app and website where people watch pornography and preach about how the Bible hates women therefore Jesus hates woman and that’s why his sister was never named and yaddy- yadda. Like they have to understand how dangerous going down a rabbit holes when it is so easy to preach lies deception
Did you see the Joe Rogan show with Mel Gibson? In that conversation, they talk about Jesus and that nobody dies for a lie. Quite interesting that when Rogan spoke to Wes, they were saying Joseph Smith was a con man. But Joseph Smith died for what he believed so nobody dies for a lie.
good point!
Don’t miss Alex oconners response to wes huff on Rogan where he points out that by the same logic “Mormons” are as plausible as Christianity. I agree, Alex!
I wish Wes would grow his hair just a LITTLE bit longer so that he could style his hair like Superman. Like a handsome blonde Superman ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
What Gilbert girl hurt Kwaku 😂?
My god, I don’t even know where to start, you guys are priceless, the gift that never stops giving!
1:15:49 Cardon goes from whinging about other Christians being mean and saying mormons are stupid, to a full blown tirade 5 minutes later about how stupid people are who believe in the trinity 😂😂
You couldn’t write this!! Never change, delusional Ward Radio forever!
Cardon is the LDS Joe Rogan, haha (with more knowledge and minus the cussing)! I knew you guys would do a response to this, so glad you did, great job all! Please tell me somebody sent this link to Joe & Wes -they really need to learn truth 😉

I always chuckle when Cardon calls out people for pronunciation when he’s constantly saying “Bart Air-Mon”.
It’s actually the German pronunciation, though. 😆 But yeah. You’ve got a point. It’s part of the comedy.

Elder Gilbert should be called, "Mesa Gilbert", cause he "runs the table" with BYU and SL Tribune. And it continues the theme of Kwaku's most hated cities.
I was trying not to get upset when Joe Rogan went off on Joseph Smith 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Planet is too small scale from what we learn though imo.
Call him Giga Dad not Giga Chad.
I’m went to Church with a bunch of BYU professors until very recently, and 80% of them were out of their minds. BYU needs to CLEAN these people out.
I attended the university as a young LDS adult and I had no issue with any of it!We even had to sign an honor code…..it’s ok to have standards!
Dude Ethan I had no idea you lived in my same city! What a small world! I hope I run into you sometime in our teeny little town. I’m in the 2nd Ward.
@@Themanyfacesofego Is it your assumption prophets sit in some jedi trance all day?
Ultimately whether you create it or get it, you still will have planets of your own. Mormons like to use word play but in reality we all know what it means.
@Themanyfacesofego this is just an outshoot of the idea that a Prophet is infallible. This is not a doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and therefore not a problem for people of the faith.
@@CameronVanTassell How wrong are these men allowed to be and still be prophets?

1:45:38 - yes! 💯
The Salt Lake Tribune is nothing more than the old ‘Nauvoo Expositor’. - unfortunately Porter Rockwell isn’t still around so he could ‘take care of business!’
The Tribune has never been pro LDS but it’s a real rag these days.
Praying for Cardon and his family! Hopefully, your family isn't close to the fires. Be safe!
I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and personal revelation not to depend on man’s words our religion the plan of happiness is amazing
Julian Dorey is a top notch interviewer.
Kwaku the technical term is she’s a sophist.
you TOTALLY missed that Joe Rogan is considering the gospel 🤦🏽♂
The crazy thing is Billy Carson is just confused but correct about the Christ consciousness coming back, but we know it’s with the restoration through Joseph smith so maybe we can help Billy and guide him to truth
I have no idea where you and Brittany live in LA, Cardon but I hope and pray you guys are safe!
Kuaku, where have you been!
Make a clip of Jonah Barnes going on about Joseph Smith and the book of Enoch
We love Elder Gilbert 😊
I was so distracted by images of Rango every time she was on screen, that I had to replay it and look away.
Joe Rogin can’t say this is more than a hit piece and is an honest discussion when he hosts someone opposing the church to talk about it.

Brigham Young
Journal of Discourses Volume 17, p.

Brigham Young
“After men have got their exaltations and their crowns-have become Gods, even the sons of God-are made Kings of kings and Lords of lords, they have the power then of propagating their species in spirit; and that is the first of their operations with regard to organizing a world. Power is then given to them to organize the elements, and then commence the organization of tabernacles. How can they do it? Have they to go to that earth which they organized, and where they were obedient? Yes, they have.”

@SarahBoyden My guess is cuz it's not true
I’ve been in evangelical churches all my life, and never been told not to read books from other religions. I don’t know if that’s necessarily true that Christians do the same things as latter-day Saints as far as encouraging us not to read outside sources. I’ve loved to study all religions all of my adult life and I’ve never met Christian’s who thought that was a problem.
