Serb snipers targeted civilians in Sarajevo again Saturday, while French U-N troops returned fire.
The French armoured personnel carriers shielded civilians caught up in the shooting on the infamous sniper alley near the Holiday Inn.
No casualties were reported.
Two civilians were killed by snipers Thursday and five people, including a U-N peacekeeper, were hurt Friday. U-N spokesman Colum Murphy said the United Nations does not have words strong enough to condemn such attacks.
Small arms fire and mortar explosions reverberated in Sarajevo overnight. There were no reports of casualties. Firing and detonations were reported in several other Bosnian regions today (Saturday), but U-N officials attributed most to Muslims marking a religious holiday.
The fire fight on sniper alley was brief, lasting only around 15 minutes. Since the city's tram service was stopped following Friday's shootings, there were more civilians than usual walking along the road.
Six French armoured personnel carriers, including one non-armed ambulance, were deployed on the three open crossings on a 200 metres-long stretch before fire-exchange started. During the exchange two more A-P-Cs were called up as reinforcements.
Shots came from at least two locations, most of it over the heads of U-N soldiers and pedestrians, without any obvious impacts or causalities, but two A-P-Cs responded with their mounted guns and at least one French soldier fired from his automatic rifle.

Don't you dare compare what we went through to your "oh like they didn't do it". No we didn't do it. Your extermination machine was all setup even before the war started. By killing them and forcing them to flee. The systematic rape and sexual abuse of both men and women, as well as children, in front of their families or neighbors, also was done for this affect. To destroy the families, break them psychologically, force them out.
The targeting of civilians -eg,these snipers in high rises, acting like psycho serial killers, and the rampant sexual sadism and humiliating of their victims in the Yugo wars, overwhelmingly done by the Serbs, though Bosniaks and Croats did their share, is mind-melting. That this happened in the 90s, not that long ago, just makes you want to vomit. The sheer level of barbarism…humans never seem to evolve out of this.

If you pause at 0:48-0:49 you can see a tracer bullet fired at the people by a sniper cross in the left-middle of the screen. It looked like it was trying to hit the woman with the umbrella. 0:59 - Can see bullet hit on left of screen.

It is called "zeroing" or something like that. When a sniper recalibrates his scope.
Not a tracer round, only a very hot piece of led called bullet.
From where the footage was shot the bullet would have preceded the shot. In this instance whatever looks like a projectile manifests only after the shot. The trajectory doesn't add up either, unless the sniper is positioned on the road and not in a building, likely elevated, as shown in the clip where the shots apparently originated from. As for the second shot at 0:59, to get the impact and the shot so close together, the actual shooter had to be just outside of the frame. My personal opinion is that pyrotechnics were used in these clips. If in doubt, prove this to yourself where people do silhouette shooting over various distances. The weapon first goes 'bang' and the the iron plate goes 'ding' after the shot, varying in bullet travel time in conjunction with the distance the bullet travel to target. In this case it should have been the other way round i.e. you would first hear the supersonic clap of the bullet as it pass and a few moments later, the report or shot from the weapon. You cannot get past that physics. Even though this really occurred in Sarajevo, this video reeks of typical UN propaganda.

My father had a Serbian co-worker who lived during the siege of Sarajevo. My father says that his co-worker received a bullet in the leg from a Serbian sniper. Even with this incident, his co-worker dared to say that these were collateral damage. that nothing prevented him from continuing to support the Serbian cause lol
