- (3 Aug 1994) While Bosnian Serb leaders contest peace plan proposals, and despite promises by both warring factions to end sniping in Sarajevo, sniper fire wounded three tram passengers on Wednesday in the Bosnian government-held city centre. The shooting forced tram lines to shut down once again and sent civilians scurrying for cover. A team of French U.N. soldiers fired back at a suspected Serb sniping position.

@@JACKPOTTT777 No I spent every day of war in the city. Still here :). You could leave Sarajevo only through a tiny tunnel that goes under the airport runway.
@@samopozakonu6392 I knew one Bosniak that left with his entire family and then also a family from Kosovo that managed to run away to Canada... that family from Kosovo helped me like no one else man took care of me as I was part of their family and they didnt even know me.
It looks like not everyone had the same chances to run away and start a new life in the west...probably the bravest stayed... its so sad

I used to do that... The French soliders were nice to me and even gave me a chocolate and by the end of the war when Serbs were defeated they gave me a ride around the city while I was eating a chocolate. Man those were the days when NATO soldiers had heart. I don't know what is happening now. But for some reason I think internet ruined peoples hearts and if the same war happened now I don't know if they would help us because you know... we have the right skin color but wrong names(religion). Go figure... but it is sad.
There are good and bad people in every age. The Internet simply made us more aware of the bad side of things I think.

Yep madness I remember my mother going on work, i was always wondering why she went on work.... it is internal resistance to do something when you are surrounded with enemies all the time...

1994 was a year of temporary truces in Sarajevo, it meant you got electricity back for a few days, shelling stopped, few sniper fire, even trams working... then out of the sudden one simple shell hits and kills half a elementary class together with teacher in front of the school. Shelling and snipper fire killed around 10k civilians and 1.5k children in Sarajevo - most of serbian generals was sentenced for lifelong sentences for inhumane warfare in Warcrime court in Hague...
In reality that is how war looks like. People will try to continue with their lives as much as possible. Not some Hollywood crap where everyone is dead scared "Ohhh my God!!!".
People need to work, even if it means there is an ongoing war
God what a world, if there is other intelligent life in the universe it would be wise to avoid this planet at all costs.

Bureaucrats and over paid politicians. The soldiers were ready to give the Serbs a good whipping.
The first Canadians took out the snipers and were reprimanded by Canadian leaders and left to go home only to put in leaders that let people get massacred. I can not find it on RUclips but i was watching and remember the Canadians had to leave a village while the village got massacred.

Bosnian Serbs. Well, sniping civilians was their every day routine. But the worst was waiting for people to gather in markets for water and food and then shelling them. Thas was sick in a way no one can describe. Not to mention raping and slaughtering civilians around Sarajevo.

I remember when this was going on and wondered then, and now, why the UN didn't send units up into those hills, buildings, wherever it was coming from, and track down those snipers.

Snipers are coming from Grbavica neighbourhood that was under Serb control during the whole war. It is a few hundred meters away from the intersection you see with people running from side to another. 0:31, Grbavica is on the right, it is basically the core of the city.
