So excited for OTJ this is such a fun set. Ghired, mirror of the wilds will be a must build for me. Thanks for another great episode.
I dig the intro/outro music, it’s a chill vibe
A buckle bunny is a rodeo groupie. Because rodeo winners get a belt buckle instead of a trophy.
This set looks better than MKM. And one that maybe looked better upon with I think the artifacts carrying it a bit. But we'll have to see.
pumped for new Mercenaries, first set I played was Mercadian Masques, and my girl Mari the Killing Quill keeps getting more friends.
I thought Thunder Junction would be another bad set. I was wrong. There are some really good cards in this set. I preordered the 4 Thunder Junction Pre-cons for $129.00 from our LGS. I also ordered some pre-release kits. Hmmm.... Maybe Caustic Bronco may fit better in the upcoming BloomBurrow set since it's a snake and a horse. It is a decent card if saddled. Not a fan of Jace since you can't use it until your fourth turn. Sword of Wealth and Power is insanely good. Crackling Spellslinger's casting cost of 5 is quite high for a 2/2. I really like Olivia, Opulent Outlaw and also Gonti. Stoneforge Mystic is good and I like Tinybones the Pickpocket . Thank you for the video.
Armadillo's are one of the cutest species alive.
I'm personally not as excited about the silly tone that OTJ has since I personally prefer the more serious sets in line with the Magic story like ONE, DMU, and BRO. It makes sense though that we're taking a break from seriousness since we just finished a major story arc last year. I imagine the sets will get more serious the closer this arc gets to its climax.
The cards themselves look super fun and great to play with though, so I'm excited for that aspect of this set!
I'm sorry for the very obscure reference (observation?) but that last yee-haw at 0:21 sounded eerily similar to the *freshly* caught cornish pixie from Harry Potter 2 that rides the skeleton as it falls from the ceiling.
My friends and I played sealed thunder junction a few nights ago. One friend alone pulled a mana drain and a lost jitte. I didn't get a single mythic I was so envious
I like that Foretell gives you something to do with your mana early (say you have 2 spare to spend and thus discounting your Foretold spell once you need it).
Is Plot playable? Maybe but probably not. Some of the costs makes no sense and without a clear urgency to double spell. In most of the Plotted spells I have seen, I ask do I want to Plot this or just cast it from hand? Usually I think you want to cast this from your hand. There is no meaningful discount and this happens at sorcery speed.
Maybe Plot has a place for Limited. Where Foretell is very playable outside of Limited. Rather a shame this missed on Plot.
Wait, is Lua ACTUALLY GOING TO WEAR A COWBOY HAT!? Erm, I mean, uh, something normal!
Sword of Hearth and Home= sword + ramp.
Very excited for release weekend!
That vehicle is going in a lot of my decks.
Particularly Magda, Brazen Outlaw. I like its mana and crew cost for tapping the Dwarves mechanic. If I get a chance to cascade twice a turn this will solve some of my speed issues for the deck.
I thought a Buckle bunny was someone who hops from buckle to buckle?
It is, lol. I wasn't gonna say anything. 😂
@@JeffreyThistle whoops, TikTok is out teaching the wrong slang lol
We have matching sweatshirts!
Love these girls love edh !
Who is listening to rosewater #magic30 lol
I gave up on the paper card game and stick to arena, the card game is too expensive and too much product to keep up with.
This set is a complete tasteless trainwreck. From the nonsensical story to the lackluster design language that basically boils down to "put a hat on it".
This whole thing feels like a Disney themepark ride in the worst way possible. The plane itself basically just acts as a lifeless backdrop for the invading hordes of Marvel-style heroes.
Worse even since it is a plane that has been uninhabited before all the outlaws and frontiersmen arrived its an even more tasteless approach to the whole theme of the western frontier. Since it tries to omit the worst parts of that whole historical period by ignoring and whitewashing them for fun and profit.
Can't have any questions about how to deal with the historical treatment of indigenous people (and their slaughter and dispossession) if you simply ignore their existence entirely in this context! Brilliant Hasbro, thank you for making the conquest of the west into clean fun for us to enjoy and ignore all the implications!
This set is really a new low of exploiting historical events and setting in the worst way possible for profit.
What are you on about?
It's purely fictional characters
FIC TIO NAL CHAR AC TERS
Is this getting through to you?
@@famousstranger8468 ... based on a very real historical period, exploited by an american corporation for profit. Therefore not purely fictional. Is this getting through to YOU?
wizards must pay reparations to the indians!
This woke guy really wants a boring realistic interpterion of Cowboys it's not like there isn't many things that have shown that before not at all lol.
If someone wants a fictional world with a fictional western theme without the baggage that's okay, and if you don't like that find another story instead of whining.
Also whining about Marvel-style heroes when that's all MTG has ever been since the planeswalkers were introduced that's the whole point of them. So guess you haven't liked MTG for ages but I know many who like such planeswalkers so each to their own. I think Bolas is great personally and he's just a Thanos. And I like Oko who's just Loki.
I really disagree, this is a more campy fun set and a lot more agreeable than ending the pherexian saga in a whimper.
