ALOT has to go right at the same time in order to become an "AFC Championship Game" type of team...like staying injury free and guys on both sides of the ball stepping up and having good seasons consistently...more draft picks panning out than not...etc...BUT biggest factor is Trevor...he either becomes a LEGIT ELITE Top 6 QB...or he doesn't.
Disagree Tony. He took several steps back last year. He needs to prove this year he is a franchise quarterback. Period .

Trevor is a good quarterback, a franchise QB. We all know right now if Trevor hit FA, MULTIPLE teams would be foaming from the mouth to make him the highest paid QB.
I think the the perceived steps he’s taken back. Was due to the surroundings around him. Crappy oline play. Not being able to run the ball. Being injured for a quarter of the year. Honestly he shouldn’t of played in that game versus Tennessee. He had a separated throwing shoulder. The same injury jalen hurts had to his non-throwing shoulder that kept him out 2 weeks. For there first 2 playoff he barely threw the ball.
This organization has a laundry list of bone-headed personnel decisions over thirty years, but getting Trevor done now wouldn't be one of them. Now that the Jags look no worse than an "average" team, how he performs this year should provide some clarity for skeptics. Personally, I'm not concerned about him, even with all the fumbles, because I think he'll fix that. The concern still lies with whether or not the o-line can give him more than 2 seconds to find an open guy, and that's a Doug and Trent thing.

Tbh Shad Khan needs to be given some blame i don’t think fans are going after him enough like they’re doing Trent Baalke and Press Taylor it’s been Mediocre going on year 4 with Baalke and Khan is being very nonchalant about his performance as a GM I’m just wondering what will happen after another repeat of last year will Khan finally fire baalke or will he fire pederson instead?
Absolutely agree he’s the best QB our franchise has ever had. He’s top 10 Qb right now. The front office is gonna determine his success in Jacksonville. You can’t be generational with non great oline. Go look at the 49ers game where the oline was manhandled. Or the chiefs game where receivers forgot it this was the nfl and not college.

Also it’s worth noting that the salary cap goes up every year. A lot of these contracts go off percentages of the salary cap and predicting future caps. So a 150 million contract 5 years ago is a lot more than it is today. A 150 million dollar qb today is taking less of that salary cap percentage wise
He's played exactly as I expected. I never saw him as a generational QB, but I thought he was very good. Considering he's been playing behind a sub-par O-Line and he has never had a true #1 WR, he's played very well. He definitely needs to clean up the fumble issues, that's on him, but the lack of talent around him on offense, is directly on Trent Baalke and Doug Pederson. It's their responsibility to get the QB what he needs.

I think the Jaguars should look into making a plan for the new stadium and saving money in the process. For example, the 2027 season the stadium will most likely, relocated to another city. So instead of spending millions of dollars to make a stadium in NFL compliance. Just use other team stadiums for that one season. We can use other team stadiums on the schedule, for example, the division games can be played each team twice that year. Just give the second game played, jaguars fans access to one of the games played. If we play teams that season like Tampa, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Carolina I believe that season, just play all four games in their stadium, with two of those games giving jaguars fans first access. Play an extra game in London and that should cover must if not all the game that season. Their going be on the road all season anyway.

I would say Baalke is on the Hot Seat this season but with our owner idk man. There’s a GM who is still not with a team who i believe is a gem finder….Rick Spielman who drafted Justin Jefferson, Danielle Hunter, Dalvin Cook, Erik Kendricks, Adam Theilen, Harrison Smith, Adrian Peterson, Stefon Diggs and many more.
Would be amazing..unfortunately we are a franchise who has never really had a football knowledgeable owner or GM for that matter. Always mediocre all the way around.
He has not proven been a top 5. I would wait to see what happens this year.

Idk man, we just resigned Josh Allen, idk if we even HAVE the money to sign trevor to a 40 million a year deal, and even if we did have the money, we do that and we wont be signing anyone in Free agency, and wont be resigning any of our drafted players anytime soon.
Is Trevor good enough to warrant that kind of longterm faith? This year will answer a lot of questions. He needs to finish as a top 5 qb if were going to pay him like one.

whats to blame in my opinion is fantasy football. I had him on my team last year and regretted it honestly he doesn't have the stats that say generational but the eye test and watching his games say he should have better stats from what I see so it's hard to convince others unless they watch jags games and not highlights

Mac Jones is going to be our QB of the future and he’ll get his chance to earn it this year because Trevor will get benched or broken.

4-6 yrs for a QB to develop. Agreed, pass protection was good enough, pocket presence wasn't. He wants big plays over open plays. To many bad ball placement throws. If Trevor can tighten up in those areas. TOP 5.
