Biggest reason Team Future deserves to win is definitely because Deep Cut deserve it. Squid Sisters stole their base game storymode from them, Off the Hook stole their DLC from them, Off the Hook stole their concert from them, even a lot of the post-launch music often had to include the Squid Sisters or Off the Hook. Deep Cut at least deserves to have their own Final Fest for themselves. The other two had their games and that time has passed. They really shouldn't have given the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook a team, because it's now no different than if they made the theme the groups versus each other. It should've been the three Deep Cut idols, and the other two groups are just there to support in the background and celebrate with them. Also, the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook have both already had to learn the lesson that they have to move forward into the future and not get stuck in the past out of fear and change, so it's only fitting that the obvious lesson the series keeps repeatedly teaching is the correct one.

The Squid Sisters have 3 HERO MODES, Off the Hook have 2 DLC along Eight. Deep Cut just were "bosses" for the story mode with little to NO RELATION with the final boss. They should got a DLC talking about them. Shiver's background, Frye's family, etc. I mean... We already know even Pearl's underwear color. Stop it.
thats right. i dont think it will effect the results because past was less popular and the least popular team always won in splatoon 1. this time there is another team, the question is different, and the scoring system is alot more complex.

Plus. We know inklings and octolings can live for a loooooooooooong while. Craig Cuttlefish is over 100 years old, so is Octavio. And both ended in their animal form (well that's for sure more than a coincidence). So, even if future meant 10 or 20 years later. It would mean a MASSIVE CHANGE.
I’m guessing the votes will explore the types of clothing we will get. Past will focus on Feudal Japan, past aesthetic like cowboys and Native Indians, or primitive wear. Present will have modern clothing like we have now. Future will be futuristic clothing, I can expect more space exploration. In Splatoon 4, if future is selected, the next game will focus on ink physics in no gravity situations. Nintendo will focus on unique ink physics.
And I mean we could still see them. Just with a different look. Or even their descendance. There's a lot of potential to see what's next, rather than what's going on already or what already happened and we know.
Team future might throw away all the characters we know, and the team present yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery thing is annoying. Team past could show us more about the great turf war, and if it's bad, then we could probably go back to the present due to it probably being a prequel. Also, the Squid Sisters are my favorite.
tbh I mostly want a splatoon game with a dreamlike aesthetic, and while it's likely not what they'll go with for future. past will just end up being realistic and present will end up being the same, so like... yeah.

The main reason I want to choose team future is that the inkling and octoling society may become developed enough to do battles on the moon or other planets. As most of the races have settles their differences they could reach new technological height that even the humans couldn't achieve.

I mean I didn't like the story of S2 because it was the same, but hey "the Callie is new". And Side Order is pretty much the same to OctoExpansion. Honestly, I would rather live in the here and now. Living in the moment is what's most important. You can't keep living in the past and thinking about the future makes people worry. No one knows what awaits for us in the future. So that's why there's no time like Team Present.

I'm going with team present either way, but I hope that either past or future wins. I don't really have a reason for voting present, other than my anxiety towards the future in general, OTH, seeing the perspective of the current world of Splatoon from an entirely different location, and suffering through mirror matches so that one of the other teams wins. Reasons I'd like past to win is because LORE. With the Great Turf War storyline, we could still play as octolings because *they hadn't been forced underground yet.* Turf war matches would be GTW battles, but an octoling team vs. An inkling team. Another reason for past is because I DESPERATELY want to see the cuttlefish idols ingame 😭 If not the GTW storyline, it could be set *right when the sealife first emerged onto land,* which would be pretty interesting and present multiple opportunities for clarifying lore. But all in all, the most logical vote would be for future, since that's where we're inevitably headed either way, and also the future is changeable so it makes more sense for splatfests since finalfests specifically impact the future of the games

I had initially been undecided between picking the Present or Future teams, but later thought about what I knew of Splatoon lore and decided on team Future in the hopes of having the second generation of the series take on more sci-fi aesthetics and designs than the current first generation (Splatoon 1-3), and possibly the next Splatoon game taking on a Neo Tokyo kind of theme. (11:28) I was also thinking of that too, but in relation to my personal life. Even more reason for me to pick the future!

Talking about all the amazing reasons why every team should be chosen makes me so nervous. I'm on Team Future and this makes me convinced my choice is right! But this Splatfest is just SO GOOD with the fact that you could go with either Team and be valid for emotional reasons that could make or break a soul. I also just... WANNA WIN, Team Future has a lot going for it but the past and present do too just honestly... Not as much, I wanna win this fest man. Not just for Deepcut but because of what it means to me!

Actually your arguments are so strong. I mean yeah the present is only existing because of the future. Without thinking about future it is impossible to live you have to think about what are you doing next and this is the future. And you need the future to make everything that you want to do in your life. The future is the most important one actually the present is actually only for a 0.00000000000000000001 second and if you do something in the present it will affect the future and not the present.
It's smart to not vote at all based on what could happen in the next game. Splatoon 2 barely incorporated the theme as Callie and Marie were both large parts and wouldn't have really changed anything but our perception of it. And as for Splatoon 3, the base game and the DLC were both Order-themed. Chaos got completely scammed thanks to Splatoon 3's bad development and bad junior developer team.

Honestly, I’m team future, but the thought of not having Off The Hook involved in the next game does make me really sad. Splatoon 3 was my introduction to the series, and I love Deep Cut, but OTH is really special to me as well - their music, their lore, their dynamic. They’ve definitely contributed the most to the games as a whole in my eyes
I’m hoping we get a brand new setting for the next game. I’d love to see more Splatoon locations based on real-life countries kinda like what Pokemon did.

you should have rather called your video reasons not to vote for team present - your reasons to vote for team future... But I'd like to ad a few reasons for future and past For future: - a time travel DLC could be added for the teams that lost the splatfest kind of like they did in 3 with the side 'order' dlc - the theme / logo represents a more typical artistical logo for techno/ futuristic electric music - the color with it's wavy shape is reminding me a lot about bomb rush cyberfunk, a spiritual successor to jet set radio future, where in that game you get into weird dream like platforming stages, because of reasons i don't want to spoiler, with a background just like the one from team future and the logo is also in about the same style and if we get a game inspired by the art and music design of said games this would be a fire game (but maybe my thoughts are too far fetched) For Team Past - in terms of games, what matters the most to me p,p,f, the past matters a lot for the fanbase so splatoon one, as it has very creative weapon and especially map design in terms of what came out as free dlc and what we had in the beginning - With that creative weapon design it would be awesome to see how they are redesigning the weapons to match that age style wise - the theme / logo represents a more typical artistical logo for rock, which makes even more sense if we consider splatoon 1 as splatoon 1 had a lot more rock heavy music - we don't know how much we are flung back in time --like we could end up with a splatoon that plays around the time the deep sea metro was a genuine thing rather than some weird locked behind underground thing Heavy on writen lore and stuff on top --But what is more possible would be that we end up right before the great turf war, then in the first half and in the second half ending the second trilogy ---also the whole thing could more or less create a different timeline where octolings have won and we then get a spi noff with octarians while the main line we are currently in isa the non spin off ---but the story could also bend a bit in a way that if the octarians won, it destroys their industry (we won but at what cost) and stuff so much that the squids rebuild their society much faster, overpower them and sending them into those domes - reasons for the second and more reasonable ending: it's still the "the octarians struck first but the squids where too lazy at first but they defeated them later" just not as strictly interpreted in the domes of s1 and s2 hero mode you can see kinda broken down railways and houses - splatoon 1 is much differently balanced as todays weapons, if they base it on that we could see special war weaponry reasons why not to fight for present - not much room to be different - maps are still worse than those in s2 and s1 - tetris blocks are not good map design - updating stages is lame and they should come out good from the start well at least as good as possible which should have been possible as the past games had better stage design and only reworks that made them even better - It's not so much about the idols even though pearlina is premium - more of the same in general so no heavy design changes, successors won't really feel like successors reasons for present - you will have even more known and repeated idols even though they are good - you are afraid too much change is bad
yes i agree. i would rank the teams future past present but i dont think team past winning will result in the developers revisiting old design philosophies such as map weapon and special design. one reason i would think this is because splatoon cannot afford those kinds of criticisms and if you have noticed splatoon 3s update cycle and maps were not exactly chaotic. i agree with alot of the stuff you said also i thought i gave enough reasons that arent just “why not to join the other teams” but alot of comments disagree so i’ll keep that in kind
Honestly, the issue is that everyone immediately assumes the time is for when the game will take place and not be JUST an aesthetic. The Splatoon devs always set up the next game in the game before it, and the final fest is just to decide a theme for that game they already have the idea of (not that they care about the theme too much anyway). Mr Grizz was already the villain being setup in Splatoon 2, and either choice wasn't going to matter for Splatoon 3. In the same way, Splatoon 3 is already setting up Lil Judd and Marigold as the next villains, regardless of who wins this splatfest. And they'd never break the "Splatoon world is congruent to real life time" because Splatoon is a very reactionary series. They base the styles and culture things based on current real world changes. Also, there really is no way they're willing to drop the old characters anyway. Especially since the new bad developer team of Splatoon 3 are clearly very huge Off the Hook fans. A lot of people forget that they didn't say Splatoon 3 was the end of the trilogy, they said it was the end of the Squidbeak Saga, because they specifically didn't want to keep reusing the Octarians as enemies anymore (not that they even utilized them in Splatoon 3 anyway, since the Mammalians were never explained or given any presence at all), which is why Side Order finally gave us new enemies.
I'm voting but not because you said so. I want more of DC, the SS deserve to retire. And OTH had 2 whole DLC to talk about them. But we know little to nothing about Deep Cut's members. Besides their respective Sunken Scroll and casual chat in the news/splatfests. Or their beef with other idols.
Also if team past wins how would turf war and ranked look like? Would they just say the inklings are preparing? Plus I would hate if they just make it like call of duty except a bit more colorful 😢

I do agree with alot of points in this video but im still not sure what to pick. On one hand i feel like the present is the correct answer to the actual splatfest question "what is most important to you" because you cant change the past and the present is what decides the future, not only that but off the hook is my favorite group. On the other hand future is the most promising option for the 4th game theme and presents more options to add new lore about what happened from now to when the new game takes place and new lore abt whatever else they want to add in there, it could really be anything. What i dont like abt future is that all the agents are gonna age up so we wont get to play as agent 4 again, and captain cuttlefish might die of old age :

Can't wait for that Bigman kissing video later this week, okay joking aside I'm pretty much convinced in leaning towards Team Future (mainly due to anxiety and longing anticipation of what's to come in life.) But ofc I'll make my final decision come September, but there's a good chance I'm on Future lol
fr, they are my fav idol group but we have 2 DLCs about them with tons of dialogue and the DLCs took me way longer than story mode, so I spent a lot of time with marina .. plus, if the next game WILL be based off what we choose, a present "vibe" would just be boring and repetitive. for splatoon 4, I would like to see something astonishing, like a cyberpunk futuristic vibe (JOIN TEAM FUTURE). lastly, if team past won, we would probably get lore on the great turf war which is way better than just staying in the same year range where splat1-3 takes place, with probably the same idols being referenced. DO NOT VOTE TEAM PRESENT

One thing too is that if present does win all regular weapons will we present in the game and bad specials can come back like stingray or reef slider, baller etc but the past you can have different specials and some cool weapons making room for some more ancient things and for future it’s just straight up upgraded things like specials weapons and even our own inkling will be older plus a laser gun just sounds cool :]

Reasons I'd like past to win is because LORE.
With the Great Turf War storyline, we could still play as octolings because *they hadn't been forced underground yet.*
Turf war matches would be GTW battles, but an octoling team vs. An inkling team.
Another reason for past is because I DESPERATELY want to see the cuttlefish idols ingame 😭
If not the GTW storyline, it could be set *right when the sealife first emerged onto land,* which would be pretty interesting and present multiple opportunities for clarifying lore.
But all in all, the most logical vote would be for future, since that's where we're inevitably headed either way, and also the future is changeable so it makes more sense for splatfests since finalfests specifically impact the future of the games

I had initially been undecided between picking the Present or Future teams, but later thought about what I knew of Splatoon lore and decided on team Future in the hopes of having the second generation of the series take on more sci-fi aesthetics and designs than the current first generation (Splatoon 1-3), and possibly the next Splatoon game taking on a Neo Tokyo kind of theme.

Talking about all the amazing reasons why every team should be chosen makes me so nervous. I'm on Team Future and this makes me convinced my choice is right! But this Splatfest is just SO GOOD with the fact that you could go with either Team and be valid for emotional reasons that could make or break a soul.
I also just... WANNA WIN, Team Future has a lot going for it but the past and present do too just honestly... Not as much, I wanna win this fest man. Not just for Deepcut but because of what it means to me!

Actually your arguments are so strong. I mean yeah the present is only existing because of the future. Without thinking about future it is impossible to live you have to think about what are you doing next and this is the future. And you need the future to make everything that you want to do in your life. The future is the most important one actually the present is actually only for a 0.00000000000000000001 second and if you do something in the present it will affect the future and not the present.

It's smart to not vote at all based on what could happen in the next game. Splatoon 2 barely incorporated the theme as Callie and Marie were both large parts and wouldn't have really changed anything but our perception of it. And as for Splatoon 3, the base game and the DLC were both Order-themed. Chaos got completely scammed thanks to Splatoon 3's bad development and bad junior developer team.

Honestly, I’m team future, but the thought of not having Off The Hook involved in the next game does make me really sad. Splatoon 3 was my introduction to the series, and I love Deep Cut, but OTH is really special to me as well - their music, their lore, their dynamic. They’ve definitely contributed the most to the games as a whole in my eyes

But I'd like to ad a few reasons for future and past
For future:
- a time travel DLC could be added for the teams that lost the splatfest kind of like they did in 3 with the side 'order' dlc
- the theme / logo represents a more typical artistical logo for techno/ futuristic electric music
- the color with it's wavy shape is reminding me a lot about bomb rush cyberfunk, a spiritual successor to jet set radio future, where in that game you get into weird dream like platforming stages, because of reasons i don't want to spoiler, with a background just like the one from team future and the logo is also in about the same style
and if we get a game inspired by the art and music design of said games this would be a fire game (but maybe my thoughts are too far fetched)
For Team Past
- in terms of games, what matters the most to me p,p,f, the past matters a lot for the fanbase so splatoon one, as it has very creative weapon and especially map design in terms of what came out as free dlc and what we had in the beginning
- With that creative weapon design it would be awesome to see how they are redesigning the weapons to match that age style wise
- the theme / logo represents a more typical artistical logo for rock, which makes even more sense if we consider splatoon 1 as splatoon 1 had a lot more rock heavy music
- we don't know how much we are flung back in time
--like we could end up with a splatoon that plays around the time the deep sea metro was a genuine thing rather than some weird locked behind underground thing

--But what is more possible would be that we end up right before the great turf war, then in the first half and in the second half ending the second trilogy
---also the whole thing could more or less create a different timeline where octolings have won and we then get a spi noff with octarians while the main line we are currently in isa the non spin off
---but the story could also bend a bit in a way that if the octarians won, it destroys their industry (we won but at what cost) and stuff so much that the squids rebuild their society much faster, overpower them and sending them into those domes
- reasons for the second and more reasonable ending:
it's still the "the octarians struck first but the squids where too lazy at first but they defeated them later" just not as strictly interpreted
in the domes of s1 and s2 hero mode you can see kinda broken down railways and houses
- splatoon 1 is much differently balanced as todays weapons, if they base it on that we could see special war weaponry
reasons why not to fight for present
- not much room to be different
- maps are still worse than those in s2 and s1
- tetris blocks are not good map design
- updating stages is lame and they should come out good from the start well at least as good as possible which should have been possible as the past games had better stage design and only reworks that made them even better
- It's not so much about the idols even though pearlina is premium
- more of the same in general so no heavy design changes, successors won't really feel like successors

but i dont think team past winning will result in the developers revisiting old design philosophies such as map weapon and special design. one reason i would think this is because splatoon cannot afford those kinds of criticisms and if you have noticed splatoon 3s update cycle and maps were not exactly chaotic. i agree with alot of the stuff you said

Honestly, the issue is that everyone immediately assumes the time is for when the game will take place and not be JUST an aesthetic. The Splatoon devs always set up the next game in the game before it, and the final fest is just to decide a theme for that game they already have the idea of (not that they care about the theme too much anyway). Mr Grizz was already the villain being setup in Splatoon 2, and either choice wasn't going to matter for Splatoon 3. In the same way, Splatoon 3 is already setting up Lil Judd and Marigold as the next villains, regardless of who wins this splatfest. And they'd never break the "Splatoon world is congruent to real life time" because Splatoon is a very reactionary series. They base the styles and culture things based on current real world changes.
Also, there really is no way they're willing to drop the old characters anyway. Especially since the new bad developer team of Splatoon 3 are clearly very huge Off the Hook fans. A lot of people forget that they didn't say Splatoon 3 was the end of the trilogy, they said it was the end of the Squidbeak Saga, because they specifically didn't want to keep reusing the Octarians as enemies anymore (not that they even utilized them in Splatoon 3 anyway, since the Mammalians were never explained or given any presence at all), which is why Side Order finally gave us new enemies.
The past is behind us and the future is promised to no one. Live in the moment. TEAM PRESENT 🗣️🗣️🗣️

I do agree with alot of points in this video but im still not sure what to pick.
On one hand i feel like the present is the correct answer to the actual splatfest question "what is most important to you" because you cant change the past and the present is what decides the future, not only that but off the hook is my favorite group. On the other hand future is the most promising option for the 4th game theme and presents more options to add new lore about what happened from now to when the new game takes place and new lore abt whatever else they want to add in there, it could really be anything. What i dont like abt future is that all the agents are gonna age up so we wont get to play as agent 4 again, and captain cuttlefish might die of old age :

fr, they are my fav idol group but we have 2 DLCs about them with tons of dialogue and the DLCs took me way longer than story mode, so I spent a lot of time with marina .. plus, if the next game WILL be based off what we choose, a present "vibe" would just be boring and repetitive. for splatoon 4, I would like to see something astonishing, like a cyberpunk futuristic vibe (JOIN TEAM FUTURE). lastly, if team past won, we would probably get lore on the great turf war which is way better than just staying in the same year range where splat1-3 takes place, with probably the same idols being referenced. One thing too is that if present does win all regular weapons will we present in the game and bad specials can come back like stingray or reef slider, baller etc but the past you can have different specials and some cool weapons making room for some more ancient things and for future it’s just straight up upgraded things like specials weapons and even our own inkling will be older plus a laser gun just sounds cool :]
