They dragged it out for so long that advanced helicopters are going to capture the market very quickly. Not much time is left for them to sell enough to cover development costs.
Pete Zaitcev They dragged it out? How long has it taken new innovations from Sikorsky, Bell, Cirrus...to create S-97 Raider, V-280 Valor, Vision Jet? The AW609 was done in great time. This aircraft as never dragged out, it had to be ready & they’ve already secured orders
I can't get over how bad your day would be if you lost one of those engines. I know they're turbines and all, but man. Best I can think of is pretend you're an airplane that doesn't have enormous propellers and glide to a forced landing.
zdaniel I believe the US facility is suited for US customers while the Italian facility will care for European customers. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
@@mrhills8868 Indeed. I think ZDaniel's slight confusion might be the fact that, Westland Helicopters was a British company, before being acquired/merging with Agusta in 2000 to become AgustaWestland, which since 2016 has again rebranded to become Leonardo-Finmeccanica. The British element to the company it appears, no longer exists.
Theyre now building the first 20 units ordered by one the largest helicopter service company in the US. Get in the line now guys
I wonder if there will be a single pilot program in the future.
Looks awesome!
Did they say anything about pricing? Not that I'm really in the market, but hey.
Its ten million US dollars

+Pete Zaitcev I think the range, Speed, and altitude Advantage will favor the tilt-rotor over helicopters.

It's neither (or both), it's a tilt rotor

If it's anything like the V-22, I believe there's a transfer shaft to allow one engine to power both rotors.
Mike Kobb Thank god for that! I seriously can't imagine what it would be like without it.
It's be a very, very bad day for sure.
Either engine left running can run both rotors when one is out.
I wonder why it will be build in Philadelphia.... when it should be UK to build it...border tax now!!!!!!!!!!!!
