Amen to John Ford and his ability to make words on paper become a lighthouse of greatness!! One of the only Ford films t did not need the Duke to make it greater than it already is!!
Mannagia la madosca 😮 This longer version gets bogged down in places but still a classic. Mixture of fact and fiction - Doc was a dentist in real life. I love the scenes with the drunken injun and the Hamlet recital schtook. Plus two exceptionally beautiful ladies in the same movie 💃🧚
Wow. Victor Mature delivering a small part of the Hamlet "to be" syliloquy through the eyes of Doc Holiday. So powerful, wiuld love to have heard him interpreting the whole speech. Who knew a western take on hamlet could be a thing.
This is an outstanding movie that holds up well today. Great characterization and acting. Mature and Fonda are so good. Excellent photography in black & white, with unique panoramic vistas and a true feel for the dusty pioneer era. A classic.
I worked in medicine all my life, am married to a registered nurse and my daughter in a psychologist. This is the longer "pre-release" version of My Darling Clementine, before the producer made changes which he thought improved the film, to be shown in theaters.
Was a nice authentic wildwest and of amazing actors and actresses. Is a golden movie that never come again to have like it.. May God bless their souls rest and peace to those of'em passed away & health and prosperity to those of'em alive ❤️🤲
One of THE classic westerns of all-time 10/10 Of all the westerns regarding this incident, I think this one, the Burt Lancaster "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" version and "Tombstone" as being the best...not much in therm imho, all 3 are great movies
Great movie. First one minute fifty six seconds -no sound- then good to enjoy. Not a documentary. This not how it really happened. Never let the facts ruin a good old Hollywood movie.
I liked this movie H Fonda was a great actor as well as W Brenner , but the ending didn't happen that way and it also didn't show the friendship between Doc and Wyatt. Tombstone is in my how state and for the most part it still looks as it did then.👍👍👍😎👍✌️👋

True. Ford knew Earp. John Wayne met him. Wyatt is his last years acted as a consultant for some Westerns. He was living and passed away in Los Angeles.
Watch the Man who shot Liberty Vallance and you’ll learn ‘when the legend becomes fact - print the legend’.. explains this western.. and Doc’s heroic demise. 🥰
I am right at the beginning of the movie, apparently the cattle are in pretty poor condition and Wyatt is talking about feeding them when they get to "grass country" I often wondered about these Cattle drives in the old west, they intimated that they could fatten the cattle when they came to grass.....but the Cattle would be full of worms and no amount of grass would or could fatten them up, I can't see the cattle being wormed on a regular basis, it wouldn't be practical to worm 3000 + head and it would be time consuming, how did they do it?
A different version of a story that happened in Tombstone a gunfight at OK Corral between Wyatt Earps and his brother together with Doc Holliday against the Clintons but still made a great movie to watch considering the great leading actors that played the famous characters in the story.
Monument Valley. Hey, I've been there. I've seen her giant Mesa's, high up in the air. If you try and paint her or photograph. You won't do her justice. Not even by half. When you first see her, you'll stare in "Awe!" No other word can describe her. None at all. What you've beheld at a moments glance. That's the magic of her natural romance. You'll fall in love with her enormous back yard. There are lots of critters there so be on your guard. Don't be sad if you can't stay. You can come back and visit her another day. She'll wait for you so have no fear. After all. She's been there for millions of years.
