One thing is to be noted and understood about long distance shooting and why you might have a little trouble zeroing into your preferred area of impact, considering your compound bows sight window area, and depending on your own personal body frame and size and his or hers muscle strength and the amount of time it takes you to get your muscle memory together, naturally you'll need to figure out the balance of your bow poundage, draw length, clearance between your sight and your arrow passing through, these certain factors will dictate what your maximum distance, I'm sure there are a enough people around your area to help you figure this out, higher poundage, draw length, flatter trajectory should give you longer range

There’s also, like many pursuits, a mind set game which comes from shooting in a group versus the pleasurable isolation of a deer stand, that being said, it will hopefully all translate into your getting a special Buck come the Fall. Location a bit nostalgic for me here in Bonnie Scotland as 25 years ago I spent a lot of time in Park City.
That was really interesting to see those days from your point of view as Chris did for his one. I shot a course in France last week, my longest pin was set to shoot 35m, every target further was just a guessing shot. It took me 6 attempts to hit the boar at 65m 😅
The mountains in Utah and Wyoming are no joke! The elevation is real! I love tac and do it every year in park city just cuz I live in Evanston Wyoming which is real close so maybe we’ll see ya on the trail! Great vid btw!

Excellent. In the 5..7 minute section, it seemed like initially you had backwind and towards the end headwind - looking at the way your hair was blown by the wind. Do you have a way to take that into account? I can imagine both wind angle and speed play a big role in precision. Now imagine an open stretch of wood with side-wind and your arrow flies leeward in the wind shade of the trees, except there is a cross section in the flight path where the wind will play on the arrow. In the terrain where you do this TAC, with hills and trees and open stretches, these forces can go anywhere and change any second or minute. In archery games (outdoors) you'll see wind vanes that could help, but I'm not sure if the archers seriously look at them.

Kaitlyn I was shooting a tournament back in the eighties and the guy who won that tournament was in the group in front of me on the last day ,,and I got close to him and watched him real close , and he would before every shot , without trying to give away his secret, look up at the sky without squinting and then roll his eyes back to the target ,,, and what he was doing was closing his pupils by purposely looking towards light ,,,,, and I think that you may benefit from this technique
Did you take elevation into account with regards to your sight tape? PC is between 7 and 10-thousand feet, makes a big difference to shooting at sea level

Noticed the arrows shot on the practice range all were rotated with one vane down. Is that something you find consistent? New to the archery game. My QAD shoots best with two vanes down, but my bow is definitely not an expensive setup. Dumb question to ask, but interested to see your response will try before the season opens up.
I only shoot with the main vane down past 70 yards with that particular set up because if I didn't, the top vane would hit my site and totally throw my arrow off. That's simply just because of the position of the site. You shouldn't do it unless you run into a similar situation

Never had my tired old ass dragged off the mountain, had to hoof it... =) Showing ATVs in TAC is almost disrespect to us common folk lol. Don't expect ATVs regular peeps. You are going to hike your way to the lift, and hike your way down the mountain back to your car or rental/room.

Are you cutting yardage for uphill and down hill. ? you have to cut for both if your range finder does not have angle compensation
