Nicholas Cage has had such a massive explosion in meme culture recently. So happy a whole new generation can experience this absolute National Treasure!
Mom and Dad is one of Cage's most batshit films, which is saying a lot, and I'm surprised "Hi Brent" and the Hokey Pokey scene aren't equally huge memes than the Slap of God.
It's so funny because in the rest of the scene it's this just sudden, serene moment of Cage winding up like a damn cartoon character. The rick and Morty clip going from intentionally clunky animation to the highly detailed motion tracking and the addition of the classical music ironically makes it feel like high art. It's a satirical message crammed into an abrupt 3 second package.
One reason why Nicolas Cage is the National- no, International Treasure. Edit 1 : alright someone pointed out, so I removed the *h* from Nicholas to Nicolas. Also 1.6k guys, stop. Edit 2 : guys ily, but please don't make me goes nuts, THOSE EMOHI REPLIES MAKES ME GUILTY
I'm honestly more impressed that the director, cinematographer, and editor were all on board to having Nick giving the insane inhale/wind up to the slap of god
I think there was a period of time probably like 10-15 years ago when he was still trying to be a "serious" actor. At this point he as embraced being over the top and his recent movies are all very entertaining.
Cage is such a legendary actor. I think his most ridiculous movie is Willy's Wonderland. The fact that you he was willing to be in a movie where he didn't have any lines but was also the main character is amazing
Nothing beats the humor of “morty im bored I’m im going to kill you” combined with a hilarious dramatic slap into the floor😂 can’t forget about the classical music!
I love how you can watch Nick Cage fight animatronics as the most badass janitor in one movie, only for him to be a psychotic father worshipping a color out of space in the next.
I feel like most renditions retain the Nicholas cage influence and this will still be attributed to him. The most noteworthy being his bizarre facial expressions and dramatic inhale and grunt
Nicolas cage can literally do something so simple like raise their hand and put it down forcefully and somehow create a popular meme. He should’ve done it to one of the animatronics in Willy’s wonderland
Yeah It was so random and confusing to me seeing alot of clips of this scene from that Rick and Morty Parody Animation by Rigmarole or other meme parodies of it on RUclips recently. It's quite a hilarious scene though I never watched that Nicholas Cage movie where it originated from but after seeing all these memes I might. I gotta say I love Rigmarole and his animations they're aways so enjoyable and hilarious to watch and even though he does get alot of views I think he deserves more because his videos are just wonderful and he's also starting to do rotoscoping recently which spawned a meme like this, so I'm always excited for his future animations.
All actors are crazy, Annie. Some crazy actors are good, some are bad, but none of them are neither. There's no such thing as both, so which one is Nicolas Cage, huh? HUH-OH!
Nicolas Cage is somehow very blasé about his anti-cultural fame and meme power, having no intention to lean into it like many would. He recognizes it, is very mildly annoyed by it but ultimately doesn't seem to care much. Which is why he won't ever "kill the meme" since he has no intention to take part in it. He's just too busy casually giving 120% to every project he's a part of, whatever the budget, fame, or quality. He's great.
While Nick doesn't hold the same level of nostalgic value to me as some other action stars from the 90's and 80's, he has never really let me down on the movies he has played in. I am particularly fond of his casting as the "Janitor for the night" in the Five nights at freddy's inspired movie (I forget the name). His way of dispatching those robots so satisfyingly coldly clearly is an homage to Doom Slayer in the Five Nights at Freddy's setting. It makes you question who he really is, because obviously he's not unused to the supernatural.
best nicholas cage movie is the one where he need to kill all animatronics (like freddy fazzbear) and constantly taking break to play on his arcade machine
lessons in meme culture could literally make a video about something entirely random like, "Why is the curvature of an apple funny?" and then like a half of the entire meme making community would just post memes about apples
Idk why but the only thing I can think of when hearing Nicholas Cage's name is a cursed Minecraft texture pack where everything is made out of Nicholas Cage
This meme _slaps._ Like Will Smith when he slapped Chris Rock Nick Cage is just perfect for memes, he's truly National Treasure, no International Treasure! xD
I swear, the majestic inhale before delivering the major blow will always be one of the funniest acts Nicholas Cage has ever done
@TippyHippy97 wtf 😐☹️🙁
@@TippyHippy Huh?
@@TippyHippy Wtf
@Dilbot still making me laugh until today 😂
Bro how you keep copypasting this on every "Slap of God" video I've seen so far?
I like how in the rick and morty animation, the slap of god part appears so smooth compared to the chaotic nature of the rest of the video
it was rotoscoped so theres that
I find it funny because it gives 0 explanation as to why Morty was suddenly on the floor. It just cut straight to the good part
@@i.d.9754 I never even realized that he just suddenly teleports to the floor😂
@@i.d.9754 Me too, I remember really ponding on that vividly.
Nicholas Cage has had such a massive explosion in meme culture recently.

I see what you did there.
Reject modern Nicolas Cage movies. Embrace the Old Man Shoes (Reference to Sorcerer’s Apprentice, another memorable flick with Nic Cage)
@@nancygonzalezgarcia8701 A great movies to watch when I was younger, I still think it should have gotten a sequel.
@@nancygonzalezgarcia8701 sorcerer's apprentice was Nicolas cage? I didn't know that
Nice one 💀💀💀💀
As long as Nicolas Cage plays a movie, whether it is good or bad, he can play it very vividly.
I'm genuinely "excited" to see his new vampire movie it looks good
Vivid is a good word for it, can’t say good or bad, but he sure does play the character
I can still remember Nick vividly assaulting a pinball machine in Willy's wonderland.
Cage is good at playing wild, crazy or Manic Characters but so-so or bad at playing more subdued characters in my opinion
The implication that Nicholas Cage learnt this holy technique from God himself is somehow not that unrealistic.
Nic cage is the god in question here
I mean he use to take acting leasons from his venomous pet snake, so anything is possible with that man.
Nic Cage is crazy enough to find heaven and learn it to use in a movie
Mom and Dad is one of Cage's most batshit films, which is saying a lot, and I'm surprised "Hi Brent" and the Hokey Pokey scene aren't equally huge memes than the Slap of God.
The hokey pokey scene absolutely deserves some recognition. One of Cage's funniest moments ever.

the best part for me isn't the slap, it's the facial expression as he turns back to the over-the-shoulder camera, winding up the slap
I was just going to comment on that. The cinematography and editing of the original shot is fantastic!
But why is the music there?
I'm honestly more impressed that the director, cinematographer, and editor were all on board to having Nick giving the insane inhale/wind up to the slap of god
Why is rotoscoping so good for comedy, it just makes so much jokes 10x better, it’s amazing
I agree
Bros slap was majestic 💀
Edit: this is the most likes I’ve ever got thx guys

@Dyingtoself Nah that had TOO much finesse, that was divine zest
I still remember when he used to hate being "You don't say?", nice that he's still memed
I think there was a period of time probably like 10-15 years ago when he was still trying to be a "serious" actor. At this point he as embraced being over the top and his recent movies are all very entertaining.
I've noticed that Cage's Slap of God comes out faster than any of the animations I've seen of it.
Cage is such a legendary actor. I think his most ridiculous movie is Willy's Wonderland. The fact that you he was willing to be in a movie where he didn't have any lines but was also the main character is amazing
As a person who can slap, this is a certified epic moment
Nic Cage is one of the most enjoyable actors of all time. You just savor his crazy acting like something delicious.
I've been watching this meme grow, it's a cool feeling to have, having watched it before it grew so big.

Nicholas Cage: *slaps intensifies*
Bears: "I sense a disturbance in the force."
thats a level 100 slap right there, maxed strength and all
Narrator: Pronounces ELO "Elo."
ELO Fans: *Dramatically raise their hand to the sky and close their eyes..."
Once I heard that I just tuned out and came to the comments lol
Nicholas Cage is such a meme figure

Nick is insanely talented actor, lol we all know faceoff he's good at pulling off insane looks.

No matter how low the movie quality is, Nick cage always rolls 100%
Nic Cage looks like a different species every time I see him.
Nicholas Cage was in National Treasure, but little did he know, he was the national treasure all along.
I love rotoscope memes, the low quality of the improvised artstyle really adds something to it
Fun fact: the entirety of Mom and Dad is a set up for a dad joke,
"I love you, but sometimes I just want to kill you."
Im glad more people are becoming exposed to Mom and Dad through this meme, its one of my favourite Nick Cage movies.
All actors are crazy, Annie. Some crazy actors are good, some are bad, but none of them are neither. There's no such thing as both, so which one is Nicolas Cage, huh? HUH-OH!
Generally one of the most consistent fun actors
This is the best horror comedy thing I've ever seen
So that's the reason Cage can knock off that woman in a bearsuit in The Wicker Man remake......

I have like
15 vids of the same slap but with different variations and counting. Gotta say, I don't regret downloading all of them.
bro I remember seeing this and just saying it randomly, it then became a joke in my friend group
Just a reminder to the new generation for cage lovers, never go full Cage.
“I am the righteous hand of God,
I am the Devil that you forgot”
This is so weird because this is literally my favorite film of all time and it basically never gets acknowledged so to see this is very cool.
Nick cage is goated again
Only Nick Cage could make a meme like that.
He's not only the Ghost Rider, but also the King of Cage-Rage.
Rigamarole's rotoscopes are their signature, and its so painfully funny
I knew it he would make a video on this!
Poor Morty :(

Nicholas cage is the most memeable actor, like he was there from the start of all the memes
