Love the depth you go to increase efficiency. I'd love to fly this in a cinematic flight. I really like the frame setup as well.. subbed 🤘 ✌️

There's no way that you can get a 30-minute flight time on a quad that weighs over 700g by running 6" props and a small 3s lipo on 2306 motors that are meant to use a 4s-5s lipo.

Can you please extend these calculations to Hybrid drones? Or rather, help me out with optimizing Flight time for Hybrid drones !!

Great question - we will have some content coming out soon covering different types of propulsion systems. What type of hybrid drone are you using (hydrogen, gas, battery?)

@tytorobotics I am exploring Hydrogen based drones. I actually have a course project in which my professor told me to use my own ideas to figure out some analytics, maybe relations between flight time, endurance and paramaters like payload, battery capacity/weight. But, my research work has been going from one research paper to another, and using some energy equations. But, then there are so many assumptions we make. I found your analysis on battery operated drone quite good. Is there any particular resource/dataset you have that will be helpful for me in getting some results.
      Thanks

Hi, It is a very nice explanation. Interpolation function is not working in Google sheets which is in your flight time article.

It seems to work here. Make sure you copy the sheet to your personal google drive, and fill it with the data from the RCbenchmark Database. You also need to fill the battery information.

what if the motors are flipped to a pusher config, where the pusher prop is moved further away from the motorhub with longer shaft to allow incoming air hit most of the propellor blades near the driveshaft. Plus having a pusher prop with thrusting blade geometry all the way to its center.. And a vertical arranged arm instead of horisontal to minimize the blockage of the incoming air past the arm. Thinking that the coanda effect sucks the air around and past the motor and then inwards again against the prop, if there is enough space between motor and propellor? Maybe an egg sahped enclosure around the motor would help?? Asking because you seem to be the right ones to ask=)

Hi! I am the guy in this video. I wrote an article about this topic here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2649757-Propeller-above-or-under-the-quadcopter-arm

I'm using aerolite 2004 1600kV with gemfan LR5126 biblades props. Wondering if t-motor 2203.5 1500kV and maybe switching to gemfan 5125 triblade props.
Just a lot of extra money to spend to test.

It is not an easy question! You can check database.rcbenchmark.com so see if there are similar propellers and motors to the ones you want to test.
