There are 3 possible endings in first playthrough leave, in water and maria the other 5 are featured in new game+ (if you wanna get stillness you have to get in water first) Bliss and stillness are new endings for the remake And space james is original 2001 james
The UFO ending is technically new as well, since it's different and almost like a sequel. In the old UFO ending, original James was kidnapped by aliens, but in the remake he returns from space to replace his clone!
Man, Stillness is In Water with an extra STRONG knife twist. Bliss is deeply chilling and depressing. But man, James not giving a damn about Mary's letter and his cold line delivery in the Maria ending is cold blooded killer stuff.
Silent Hill 1 had an Alien Ending, so that was just carries over into 2. The dog ending was a brand new funny ending, so that carried over from the original. :)

The dog ending is a Joke ending but there are some theories that the dog is actually the god of silent hill in disguise

The Dog Ending is indeed real and in reference to a joke ending in the original. "Space James" is James as he appeared in the PS2 original.
