Loved this song...1983...one of the sounds of my summer..I was 17. Had a holiday romance with a Scottish lass. Was a good time for Scottish music. Aztec camera and friends again aswell
Saw Aztec Camera back in the mid 80s at Toad's Place in New Haven CT. Also saw the Damned, the Alarm, Red Rockers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Ramones there as well. Great times!!
I love this song it takes me back to a sunny day at the beach when I was 17 and hearing it on a transistor radio, it was a sublime moment of happiness.
They came to my city and were scheduled at the soccer stadium in the evening, at the fiestas. I had the disc and came there with a friend. Then, the Bluebells appeared. They have put around their necks the checkered scarf we use to wear during the fiestas days in my city. At that point, we loved them instantaneously.
"You spoiled my day for the rest of the night". Possibly one of the greatest singular lines of lyric in the history of rock and roll. Right up there with "Don't want to wake up far away to hear them say 'We found him'"...
@@cathyskywalker77 My sister's name is Catherine. I'm not sure whether she heard this song, though. It was a minor hit in the UK in 1983 and again, breaking into the Top 40 at the second attempt when re-issued in 1984 following the success of I'm Falling and Young at Heart.
@@rjjcms1 I used to hear it here in Connecticut on a college radio station. Would never be heard on mainstream radio unfortunately. My full name is Catherine too. Back then college radio was the best place to hear great music....like Lords of the New Church, whom I saw at a little underground club called The Grotto, back in the mid 80s.
Love the bluebells of course one song overshadows the rest SO not right with gems like this and i'm falling a fave of mine their sisters album is cool under rated band that wrote their own stuff.

Oh Meat, just because your outfit never made into the top 40. Still though, seen you a few times. Are you lot still going. But, yer right though, pish.
How can anyone NOT like this song? It is full of feel-good vibes. It should have been a huge hit....kinda like Switchin' to Glide. .

Better music from a better era. ....the early 1980s.
Thank you for prefacing that with "the early" and not the whole of the decade!
