***** I do believe it is possible for a straight person to play a gay character, the same way a gay person can play a straight character (i.e. Jonathan Groff, an openly gay actor, voices Kristoff in 'Frozen'). Just because you are comfortable touching another boy sexually/kissing boys does not necessarily mean you are gay, especially if the sexual attraction itself is not there.
I don't think it would be appropriate to have Jude and Connor kissing shirtless or really doing anything like that. Not really in the sense that it's "inappropriate for such young actors/characters to be doing that" but because that isn't what their friendship/relationship is about. The plot surrounding their characters is about two kids trying to figure out who they are and who they want to be and where their relationship stands.
Also, both their characters are thirteen on the show.
Hayden is straight. They play gay characters. That doesn't mean they are gay in real life. It could be that Gavin is shy and let Hayden don the talking.

They're so adorable and so talented, I think it's great what "The Fosters" is doing as a series. It's important for kids and adult alike to see that families and love come in many forms, and that being different doesn't make you a bad person.

I watch this show openly in the living room and my mom and brother seem to like it but whenever it comes to anything Jomnor like Kissing or whatever they see me fangirling and they're like you're crazy. I have a gay cousin and they support that but they just don't enjoy seeing it happen. To me, however, two people in love is always adorable and beautiful. No matter their sexuality or gender. :)

Now finished watching the series and stumbled across this video and both of them are handsome and so mature Gavin looks at him the same even if there not acting... Im glad that they got comfortable with each other for the kids scene because there only little kids at the time. But who new he would've done so much kissing with Noah👁️👄👁️ I still loved it anyways.... Look out for my long paragraphs on other videos talking about the cast and being emotional. This show deserves to come back even with a different cast it's ok. I love how mariana and callie got there own show I wished it had one for jude too but I'm glad he made an appearance in good trouble 😊
