This is the story on Audre Harrell... Andre Harrell has died at the age of 59.
Raised in the Bronx, New York, Harrell started a career in music as half of the early-'80s hip-hop duo Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (with Alonzo Brown). The pair had a handful of minor hits on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart -- the biggest being the No. 31-peaking, Tom Tom Club-sampling "Genius Rap" in 1982 -- but Harrell soon found other career aspirations, particularly after meeting Def Jam records founder Russell Simmons.
Hired by Def Jam, Harrell quickly worked his way up to vice president and general manager of the label, but left shortly thereafter to start his own New York City-based label: Uptown Records. But Harrell's greatest discovery at the label wasn't a recording artist -- at least not yet. In order to keep me from my child, I would have to be six feet under. We’re talking about very early in Diddy’s history and I struggle to believe he was always powerful. Jaguar Wright and Lunell discussed AL B's situation on a live a few years ago, it's on youtube. They also talked about Kim Porter. Claudia, as she report's, is friends with AL B and Lunell. And Jag is friends, and supposedly was in some sort of relationship with Kat Williams. Claudia as we know has been around Diddy and Jay Z. It's a small world and entertainment seems to be even smaller. All of these people mentioned minus Kat have dropped the same bread crumbs . I wouldn't dismiss what she is saying.
