I’m about to get hearing test tomorrow to see if I have nerve damage to my ear 👂🏾I’m 14 and this is after I had a bad ear infection behind my eardrum I got my ear check again w my mom by a ent specialist and they said my ear was Good so they did the instrument test thing and my left ear didn’t hear it as loud as my right thank you for this video makes me less nervous 👍🏾👾👾👾👾
I remember a hearing test with them using a contnuous tone they turned up until you could hear it...at one point it kicked off my tinnitus then made it so loud I couldn't hear the tones anymore so got a much worse score than my actual hearing loss which caused me to be rejected for a job. Years later (and every test since) I got tested using pulsed tones which allowed me to differentiate between the tones and the tinnitus. Wish I had known the folks using the continuous tone were idiots who didn't know what they were doing.

Don't worry about your hearing Aids looks like on the outside of your head make it looked like a cellphone ear buds while listening to music 🎵 or hide your hearing Aids and act like James Bond's Hearing Aides secretly listening to spy . They ( Audiologist Hearing Aides dealers) or Public Schools might offer you invisible hearing aid meaning goes inside deep in the in the ear or hide behind your hair matches up with hairing aides , sorry I meant hearing Aids LoL 😆 .
Because insurance doesn't cover eye exams I was afraid that meant it wouldn't cover hearing either. I've been experiencing an inability to focus in when people are speaking in certain environments. I always brushed it off as anxiety until a friend jokingly asked if I was having hearing problems and suggested I get tested... when I learned insurance does cover hearing exams I booked an appointment right away (at the end of the month). Not sure if its hearing loss or anxiety but regardless it will be nice to have a check up. I'm 30 and as you said I have only had the gradeschool screenings.
If you don't get a new hearing Aids , you might have to go to the Auto mechanic store to buy a big funnel and put it in your ears . So which one do you want ?

i think i'm getting done before going to another ENT, i have a perforation ? in my eardrum, so will the test still be able to proceed as normal although the hole is there ? i've initially went to the nurse at first, because i was having ear pain. i'd always had bad hearing in my right ear since 5th grade though, i didn't tell my parents then. but about three weeks ago, we went to the doctor the first time and we assumed it was just earwax, and we did a water treatment to get rid of the earwax (there was a lot and they couldn't see my eardrum because of it) until we had to stop halfway due to the horrible pain i was experiencing. so, i was referred to the ENT, and then they removed the earwax out of my ear using a suction vacuum. then, the pain was gone and i'd felt fine. it was just otitis externa then. and we went a couple days ago for a checkup w the ENT, and turns out i had a perforation in my eardrum and it was actually chronic otitis media. so now, i'm having an auditory test 10 days from now, and then i'm going to another ENT that specializes in perforated eardrums to get my hearing fixed since i wasn't able to hear out of my right ear for years. and i'm just hoping that it'll be fixed without surgery or anything lol.
I have a friend that took a hearing test and she said that the doctor did not perform a speech recognition test or a word recognition test. She is suffering from tinnitus. The doctor prescribed hearing aids. Should I tell her to get another test from a different hearing center?
Can tinitus affect your audiogram, and therefore, the fitting of the HA? I guess REM is usefull only if your audiogram is accurate (leading to an accurate prescription). I mean... Is possible that your ear is able to hear the sound at 30db, but tinitus masks it out, so in audiogram will appear at 40db? How semnifficative is a 10db tollerance in an audiogram?
Last time I had a hearing test was 30 years ago (I was 7) - it was in primary school...I remember a pair of headphones (one red one blue) and I had to say "yes" when I could hear the sound...
My new audiologist didn't do a new comprehensive hearing test because I had another one from another audiologist over a year ago. I complained with her as I was going to buy new hearing aids and wanted a more up to date exam. So, she did an audiometry that took less than a minute. Usually my hearing tests last way longer , and include impedantiometry and other tests, not a 1 minute audiometry. Is this something valid? or should I complain?
btw I have moderate-severe hearing loss and have noticed some worsening on hearing loss, now I can't even hear alarms to wake up. So, yes I wanted a full exam, but she only did 1 mnt audiometry, I am shocked. I even bought my new hearing aids signia 7nx with that audiologist
I'm a musician...and I seem to have developed tinnitus (I know...:-( ) - but since lockdown started and band rehearsals have finished...I've noticed that through the lack of exposure to loud music or having earplugs rammed into my ears that my tinnitus seems to have got a helluvalot LOUDER...does this happen with tinnitus? My hearing's already bad enough that with the -34db earplugs in and someone speaks at band rehearsal (off-mic) that it's literally like having the TV muted because the tinnitus and earplugs COMPLETELY drown out anything that's said and I have to remove the plugs to hear...
PLEASE ANSWER, can an air conduction testing cause hearing loss??? Ever since I got one 2 weeks ago my hearing became worse just a couple of days after the test and now I can't hear nowhere as good as I did before the test which is driving me insane.

It feels like I have a hearing loss on my left ear but the audiogram shows nothing. It shows that both ears would be equal, but it definetely doesn't feel so. Is everything okay with my hair cells when the audiogramm shows no hearing difficulty?
When I tooked my hearing test I was told 2 say yes every time I hear a beep that was so annoying. Not only that I didnt get 2 do the headphones test I just did the bone conduction tests it's like they want me 2 get a baha . And they didn't even explained nothin about my hearing all I was told after gettin done takin my hearing test was I lost hearing in both ear . I was already hearing loss it's been 2 years I go get an hearing test I lost Hearing in both ears . I had 2 called her 2 get more information she said she can tell I lost hearing becuz she use the bone conduction that goes behind the ear. Why didnt she check my hearing with the headphones. By be losing my hearing she wants be 2 see an ear..nose ..throat doctor for medical clearance 2 get me a new hearing aid. Why do I need medical clearance for replacing my broken hearing for a new one . Also this baha on a head band I'm supposed 2 be getting. I told I need 2 baha why when I been wearing a hearing and.

REM is conducted when you are being fit for the first time with your new hearing aids to verify the fitting is accurate.

I get my hearing tested every year, cause I have two Cochlear implants and born with bilateral deafness 👌🏻

A hearing test is a must. Until you get the results of that, it will be impossible to determine what could be the issue.

Sounds like something else going on. I can't imagine they played air conduction sounds loud enough to cause additional hearing loss.
