For all other fello Galio enjoyers, my favorite tech is pressing e with your back to a wall, because you can’t move backward your dash is longer and the enemy doesn’t see the normal windup, it’s Goated tech

Took Tank Galio top into an Akali and they left after level 3 xD
Galio is playable TOP against some AP champions like Malphite, Gwen, Singed, Rumble, Gragas, Orrn. You lose against most sustain champs like Olaf, Dr Mundo, Darius, Illaoi, Tryndamere, MordeKaiser, Tank Cho'gath, (AP no problemo). So he can be good against some picks, but most Top laners lay bricks when playing against Galio.

The fact that they lowered his AP ratios means you have more build freedom now. You don't HAVE to build like Morde.
Depends on your playstyle. Full AP damage Galio slaps. AP rylai's burn build is fun. Tank bruiser support is good. Galio is versatile.

A little tip that can help agains't akali is charging your taunt shield in the middle of the smoke bomb. And you can also use your W when she's gonna try an all in
Ive been building him riftmaker and all defensive health items plus heartsteel and its treated me well even before this change. Cant wait to see how it does after

I loved old Galio. Old Sion too for that matter. Old Galio W was such a cool ability. I loved abusing the healing ratio vs DOT dealers.

@@Tigerstarblade11 Oh it absolutely would have been disastrous lol. I know they had to change it, but I still preferred it over his current kit. I don't love his "run it down and take turrets to win even though I'm 0/15/0" play style. The zombie mechanic they implement for his passive is similarly problematic for the game, I'd say. (Edited for typo since I'm on my phone)
@@stephenp8232getting a 4+ man absorb explosion and killing everyone was much more satisfying than his new ult knocking everyone up but doing no dmg. And it worked well with his w that allowed him to heal while taking damage from the taunted enemies.
Now I kinda wanna see an op-hit AP Galio with Nashors. And hey, does the new Runaan's work on his passive? That could be fun too.

I think for URF they should have the URF Dragon (disables URF abilities for the enemy team for an amount of time) and the URF Baron (applies baron buff to all minions on your team, regardless of champion proximity)

This was nice idea for Rod of Ages - maybe sth like you get +1lvl when you buy it and at 18 it changes to some kind of buff.
I wish they'd let him point where to ult. And still shield if an ally is in the circle.

This only makes me wonder how galio will do with items like heartsteel and Iceborn gauntlet. I don't know if that slow is worth it, maybe after the E into the w? But going heartsteel into riftmaker for the HP conversion into AP might be an interesting combination. I'm a little curious as to how quickly HP will effect his w damage reduction. Maybe even getting fimblventer if mana gets rough for the shield.
aoe slam scaling with hp should theoreticly give him the damage he needs to clear waves and fight without building damage items... I think? What other weak points am I missing?

So happy to see a character who somewhat struggled in teamfights and felt awkward for only being an AP mage to counter AP mages to now a viable bruiser like mordekaiser. Always was fun playing him but I felt useless in every fight if I wasn't using my ult atleast once and it drove me away from the champion. Very exciting! ❤❤ (Could also make for some funny Zwag videos)

Situational items (pick some): Rod of Ages, Rylai's, Cosmic Drive, Frozen Heart, Abbysal Mask, Spirit Visage, Force of Nature, Kaenic, Jak'Sho, Warmog's
Primary runes: Grasp, Demolish, Conditioning, Overgrowth OR standard Conqueror.
Secondary runes: Manaflow, Gathering Storm OR Presence of mind, Last stand.
Extra facts:
You want Archangel's first, because Cass is so mana hungry.
Gauntlet might work, because with E you'll proc it often.
Heartsteel will easily proc because you're ranged and fast. For the same reason Rylai's will be excellent for kiting, just like bruiser Ashe.
Spirit Visage synergizes with your E healing and Seraph's shielding.

I just realize Banshee's Veil gives Galio +78 dmg while 5× Recurve Bow (like in the video Zwag did some time ago) gives only +75 on hit. With this reset mechanic Galio can be a real slapper. He can be a tank, he can hit hard. Maw of Malmortius gives him even more dmg (+95) while normal ad items like Infinity Edge gives only +65. If he can reset the passive and keep smacking, that will be brutal. Isn't that too much?
EDIT Abyssal Mask gives only +63 in case of passive damage. But there is also health I didn't consider.

Galio is fun to play. But this rework will make him playable more..it was such a buzzkill to have to wait for cds on current Galio after a combo, completely useless after a combo so I was an easy target to be killed in team fights because of that.
