- Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon has told ITV News he wants Britain to have a "truly brilliant" Brexit - while confirming he has "always" liked the Queen.
The Anarchy in the UK singer - stage name Johnny Rotten - told Arts Editor Nina Nannar he backed the move to quit the EU and offered a word of advice for Britain's negotiators.

John is a wonderful human being, and in my opinion his a good man with a heart of gold.
He just came out as a Trump supporter claiming that the corrupt egotistical businessman who rarely if ever paid his bills for jobs undertaken for him was 'standing up for the working man'. That says all we need to know about this dreary little man. Nothing he says should ever be taken as serious and any comment he makes has some cash for him incentive. It's time the myth of him being anti-establishment is buried, he's done precious little to deserve it.

It's surprising that so few understood those lyrics back in the day. "They made you a moron a potential H bomb" - he refers to the monarchy as institution - that's what it does - the hand that signs the paper (laws etc.) - and that after Cromwell - cannot say no - that's a moronic position to be in. I never thought he hated Mrs. queen - Elizabeth the person but 'The Queen' - the Monarchy as institution - that 'ain't no human being'. We discussed this at aged twelve and came to this conclusion so we were able to extend the debate to our horrified parents. This was Johnny Rotten's greatest skill and that legacy still resounds. The Brexit comment? - well he's an ageing pundit now - his own insecurities will not let him bow out gracefully - and it makes him look foolish. Shame really. Also he knows the power of hype and as a 'celebrity' increasingly mistakes it for the truth - so the fact that the watery brained and bleary eyed of England - semi-educated and wholly lacking in independent foresight were taken in by hype - becomes - for old Johnny - democratic - however cynically formulated in his mind - it's not his fault. The Reality of all this - we will see.

I support Brexit, as someone who voted remain. The people have voted. I would have preferred the EU / our government to have listened to the people's concerns before it came to a referendum and saved the people of Britain from the likely affects of the vote. The working class will suffer whatever the outcome is, not the rich or middle classes.

Lydon never got it. The Sex Pistols would be nothing without context of all that is the UK. They would be nothing without the Union Jack. Nothing without ERII and nothing without establishment. Money is dirty wherever you go but when I was a kid in the 80's there was nowhere in the world I would rather be then England. I will always treasure those memories.
