I’m sitting here making faux glass beads out of rolled tubes of brown paper and also making small shelves out of old cardboard and heee you are doing brown paper and cardboard projects, too.

I don't think it looks hodgepodge before grouting. I like the contrast of the black background with the mirror pieces interesting.
I think a colored grout would look good, too.

Always grout and wipe Diagonally! It will not pull grout of the seams that way :)
I love both, but the mirror especially. I'll need to start saving up some boxes.
Both projects are really great! I love the swirls on the first one. The second one I thought looked pretty cool before you filled it in. It looks great with the grout, too. I was thinking maybe you could add mica powder or alcohol ink to the grout. If that would work it might look pretty awesome, especially with the black.
I really like the mirrored picture the most but both of them are very cool. When you added the big piece of mirror in the middle with just the outer edge covered in mirror I really liked that look, too before you filled in the rest of the mirror pieces. I think you could pay a lot of money for either of those in an art shop. God bless you Steve, and your family. Stay safe from these terrible storms!
