I just read Batman Year One and there was a scene that would be great for the horror movie. Batman has a criminal pinned to the ground and the guv tries to pull a gun, he disarms him and says "bullets don't harm me, nothing harms me. But I know pain, and sometimes I share it with people like you." That line absolutely fits cryptid Batman
That is the most perfect Batman horror movie ever not even a single critique that would be the greatest thing ever someone has to make a fan movie about that or it has to be a real movie.
The only thing I would change, is when Batman is holding the guy and he stabs, it finally focuses in on Batman’s face and the guy sees the mouth area witch isn’t cover and freaks out even more realizing he just a human being
"Red Hood is to Nightwing, what Shadow is to Sonic." That's a comparison I would never have thought of...and I kinda like that. Also the coincidences with these two are scarily close lol I'm a huge Sonic fan, so that small section of the video really threw me for a loop 0_0
20:00 Where did they get off calling brother Voodoo a regrettable superhero. His mystical prowess rival that of Doctor Strange. In fact, I believe in canon, if Strange ever dies or can't fulfill his duties as The Sorcerer Supreme, Brother Voodoo is next in line to be The Sorcerer Supreme.
To answer the Wolverine question, no. He was once super drunk and to quote him, he "snikted" himself, did a Hidden Blade and the claws went through his palm.
…I have just now realized that that Titans version of “Death in the Family,” at least how Panda describes it, could theoretically be salvaged with one -yes, *ONE*!- change: Make it a nightmare. I don’t mean that as shade, not at all, I’m saying that it would actually work really, *REALLY* well from a character & story angle if the whole thing was a nightmare Jason had down in his coffin, either while he was dead or before he fully regained consciousness. It touches on basically all of his worst fears and would serve as great set-up for Jason reacting as violently as he does upon his resurrection. Here, let me just reframe things a little: Jason goes to take on the Joker, not out of a true sense of heroism but out of pointless, stubborn pride. There’s no one for him to save, no urgency to the situation, but he doesn’t bother to tell anyone anyway, charging into a fight he should know he can’t possibly win. Bruce never came to save Jason, and in fact Jason would know he *couldn’t* because Bruce was too far away when he left. But even so, Bruce doesn’t learn what happened until someone else pulls Jason’s body out of the wreckage. Bruce emotionlessly buries Jason’s body, then gets in a fight with Dick about the file of potential Robins, proving that Jason really was only ever a sub-par replacement for Dick, and one that can be easily replaced in turn; in this scenario, Dick isn’t even angry at Bruce over Jason’s death, just over the list of cheap replacements, showing that Dick never actually cared about Jason either. Still, Jason’s death is enough to break the already shaky relationship between Bruce & Dick thanks to what’s come to light, and Dick leaves Gotham forever - the original Robin, driven out as a result of Jason’s choices & failures. With Babs in the hospital & Gordon dead, there’s nobody left at all to care that Jason Todd *or* Robin died. Joker’s not even punished; he puts up no fight, so he just gets slapped in cuffs & put on the fast track back to Arkham. And then, at his lowest point, still driven there by Jason despite everything else, Bruce breaks his one rule, setting down the mantle of Batman to return the favor to Joker while he has the chance. Despite everything else, this still broke Batman terribly in ways Jason (before waking up) would never want to see. Okay, still with me? Now: Jason wakes up. He claws his way out of his grave. And when he looks around, what does he see? Someone else in the Robin mantle. Dick working even more out of Bludhaven than he was before (simple progress of time, settling in, building connections, etc.) And Joker, still alive. Everything Jason was horrified of, all his worst fears are confirmed to be true. And perhaps worst of all, even though breaking Bruce was the last thing Jason would’ve wanted before going in the ground… it didn’t even do that much. Bruce cared so little about any of it, about Jason, about Dick, about anyone involved… Barbara (maybe) can never walk again, so why the hell can the Joker?! *Someone’s* gotta do something. Time to go shoot a clown in the head.
I agree with you on Titans Jason Todd. I really hope that Jason gets put into a movie where he's closer to his comics version. It sucks that a ton of people are going to look at Jason and see him as an angry kid that became Red Hood because Batman couldn't save him.
Love panda’s pitch for a Batman horror flick! Also back when Spider-Man homecoming was announced the crew talked about how the trilogy was going on building Peter to be how we see him as like in no way home. It’s that what makes me interested in the current movie version of the character of how would today’s Peter Parker be post spider bite. Oddly enough I always saw Peter and Miles the other way around or how much alike they are in terms of personal loss, gains, responsibilities, interest, and life in general, like Barry Allen and Wally West. Both are so different but also alike at the same time and how they relate to each other. It’s honestly interesting and a little heartwarming.
Y’know, that pitch for the Batman horror movie has me remembering a post I saw a few years back about how easy it would be to make not just Batman but Robin absolutely terrifying. Obviously, Panda’s covered the Batman angle, but lemme pitch horror movie Robin to you: Imagine Batman is attacking your base. You’re running, and you can still hear the fight happening behind you. You think you’re getting away, when suddenly you trip over something. You roll over, sure you’re going to see the Bat, and instead there’s this… kid, silhouetted by one of the lights. A kid dressed in a uniform which is just the wrong shade of red, dabbled and uneven in a way that suggests it used to be a much lighter color. A kid with the same glowing white eyes as Batman. A kid with what looks like a length of pipe he just used to whisk your feet out from under you. A kid with a smile, bright and friendly, like he’s your fucking waiter or something, but something about the way he moves… there is no doubt this kid is going to hurt you. BADLY. Word gets out: Batman’s fighting with a kid… or at least something that looks like a kid. People have seen Robin jump impossible distances, twist and crawl and clamber in ways that make you cringe to look at, sure he must be breaking something in order to move like that. He can tug a cloak of darkness around him to blend with the shadows, but when he wants to he can also be the most obvious thing in the room. And that smile. That fucking SMILE. Robin always, and I mean always, has that smile. It doesn’t matter if he’s questioning you, kicking your ass, chasing you down, he never seems out of breath and he always smiles. Word gets around that someone broke Robin’s nose in a fight once; Robin didn’t even flinch, that smile didn’t waver, even as blood dripped down his lips and stained his teeth red. Nobody knows who this kid is or where he came from, but there is something very, very WRONG about Robin. His easy-going, playful manner just makes him that much more terrifying when held up in contrast to the Bat, with the viscousness they both use. The most popular rumor is that Robin was one of the Joker’s victims, that he genuinely /CAN’T/ be anything but happy and smiling 24/7, and Batman took him as an apprentice out of… pity? Anger? Vengeance? Or possibly just to channel those violent, Jokerized urges and make Robin into a weapon of his own. Nobody knows what Joker might’ve done exactly, but there is no version of this set-up that isn’t viscerally horrifying when you bother to think about it. It gets to the point where a bright, child-like laugh or a flash of red at the corner of your eye leaves criminals just as jumpy as a rustle or shadow that seems out of place. And when they think they’re safe… even if somehow you keep Batman out, it’s only a matter of time until Robin comes crawling out of your vents. (It is not hard to pull the “creepy child” angle, but Dick becomes terrifying if you really lean into his performing history. This boy was raised in a circus and did acrobatics on stage, he has almost certainly twisted/sprained/skinned/otherwise hurt parts of himself and carried on with the act without flinching nor letting his smile waver, because that’s what you *DO* when you’re on stage. You cannot let the audience know you’ve been hurt. It also wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine Dick being a decent contortionist just from hanging out and practicing with them.)
I'd be so terrifying to be the first goon ever to meet Robin. All your friends are beat up or have disappeared into the darkness, Batman's coming for you next... and then you hear giggling
@@addieartist982 Young Justice kinda did that in season 1. *We* the audience think of Dick's laugh as endearing because we hear it in contexts like "we picked the right guy to be our leader - automatically making you the right person to explain this mess to Batman," etc. Put that laughter into a darkened warehouse? Creepy as all hell.
@@davidwilds8647Apparently the writers added Dick laughing whenever he disappears on people cause he was so amused when Batman taught him to do it, he couldn’t stop laughing. It would be terrifying if you were on the other end of it.
a Batman horror movie would be absolutely amazing, but what I would absolutely love to see is an entire movie series where we finally get proper stories for the Robins. 1: Grayson joins the team, Bruce spends the entire movie slowly coming around to letting him help (also age him up to like 14-16 at the start for the sake of ease) (as a joke, throw in Robin considering wearing the leotard Robin suit and Bruce outright refusing to let him, instead going for flexible and skin-tight pants) 2: Robin's all grown up and kinda feeling independent, he wants to be accepted as his own hero and get out of Bruce's shadow, he becomes Nightwing and then Jason joins the team toward the end, make Ra's the villain as foreshadowing for the next couple 3: An entire movie with Bruce and Jason with maybe a single appearance of Nightwing, Jason dies to Joker at the end, literally the last scene is Bruce pulling Jason's corpse out of the rubble. Make Ra's a reluctant ally in this one and build up respect, have Bruce save Ra's so he owes him, setting up for Red Hood. Talia and Bruce do it in this one, maybe leave the drugging out because that's really dark. 4: Bruce learns to accept help again, Tim joins the team 5: Under the Red Hood 6: Damien joins the team (have him join at the youngest age of any of them to really hammer home that he's just an abused kid), complications arise, possibly use a similar storyline to the 'Batman vs Robin' animated movie
Another comparison to Shadow and Jason is that after they died, they were both intended to stay that way, but years later, would be brought back (in green liquid) by a villain, with slight altercations to their personality after being revived. One being incredibly blood thirsty and the other suffering from amnesia, but still, it lines up hilariously well and I love that.
The one about Flash without the speedforce is basically Owen Mercy but instead of being able to throw things super fast and super accurately, he'd just kick things XD
15:37 he was taking a non fear drug (FROM SCARECROW)to get rid of his ptsd for falling from a building and almost dying and so he didn’t think properly when going after the joker
My favorite era of Batman would probably be post-Tim Drake’s arrival up to Flashpoint. If that’s too broad, I’m sorry, but I just really like some of the stories that came out of that time
"Hey neighbor, I see you bought a lot of beekeeping stuffs lately. Starting a new hobby?" "Uh... no, Dave. It's for my new job." "Huh? What does beekeeping have to do with FBI work?" "What... oh you're mistaken, Dave. I'm not working for FBI. I'm working for F-Bee-I." And then Dave laughed so hard, he broke the fourth wall. The end.
Regarding the Titans show. I have been watching all of the episodes. The show is problematic at best. The show changes so much of it's source material for no reason and it is infuriating. I have a very firm belief that it would be so much better if it just wasn't a DC show and was just made with its own characters.
So, Raven is one of my favorite characters in DC...just period, really. And going into watching Titans, I was like "Oh, it might be interesting to see a darker angle to their stories" I stopped watching when they beat Trigon. I just couldn't get over how...boring it was for a guy who can stand up against Superman and Mr Mxyzptlk. I was just so checked out by that point, that when I found out they were doing Death in the Family I audibly groaned.
The Batman horror movie is something i need to happen! It sounds awesome, especially if the batman part ends up being the big twist! Like when promoting the film, they could promote it as a classic mob movie and then surprise BATMAN!
It’s possible that the muscle straightens his hand because he’s constantly popping his claws whenever knocked away, a difficult position, basically poses where you’d think the claws would rip through his palms
39:48 I loved Batman white night, where he's just fucking unhinged, not crazy, at least not yet but he is absolutely pissed, he hasn't killed yet but he is belligerent to the point of not caring about property damage and shoving random pills down the joker's throat
18:34 oh trust me, Redd. It's NOT just a you issue. I feel personally attacked by the show whenever I think about what they are doing with Bruce and Jason. I feel OFFENDED LMAO It's the reason why I pretend like the show doesn't exist. And I was pretty disappointed with Bruce's casting before coz imo Glen is an awesome actor but he doesn't fit the character. However, NOW...I just feel grateful that it was Glen. I can just pretend he isn't Bruce Wayne and just some random dude in a superhero show. I am a HUGE batman fan. Like, I am a simp for Bruce. I hate what they did with him, and this is coming from someone who accepts ZS's interpretation of Batman. I am happy for Titans actors, show makers and the fans but...it isn't for me.
Just...in universe Batman cryptid implies...well...monsterf**kers would have a field day with that. So like, Bruce Wayne is thirsted after by a specific niche of people and so is the Batman. I don't know what to do with this information??
Oh my God, I cannot stress enough how much I would love this horror mobster goons vs Batman movie SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY TAKE IT ALL I WOULD ASCEND IF I COULD SEE THIS
That movie pitch kinda reminds me of the "Have I got a story for you" segment from Batman: Gotham Knight where a bunch of kids are telling stories about Batman but dont really know what he is.
For those of you who don't know the eras of Batman are Childhood: when when Bruce was a child, think gothem or every time it shows Batman's parents dyeing. Pre bat: Bruce Wayne training to become Batman. Cryptid: he explains this in the video Hero: this is after people find out Batman is real but before the justice League is a thing. Justice: this is when he joins the justice league and starts fighting crime around the world. More than man: this is Batman in stories where he for whatever reason has to stop someone like Superman, wonder woman, or dark side. End of man, birth of god: this is when he is done holding back and just decides to just become a god, think final bat suit. Elder bat: Batman when he's to old to give a shit, think old Bruce from Batman beyond. Cryptid 2: this is after the death of Batman when no one is really sure if he's actually dead because there have been reports of humanoid bats, think the end of gothem knight. New generation: this is when someone else has to take up the name Batman, think Batman beyond or anytime Damian became Batman.
For THE BAT MAN promos leading up there should be some kind of viral marketing with a “hunt the truth” style AR with video clips, photos, and a Conspiracy Nut recurring character doing the rounds
I’d like to see a promo that’s basically a live-action version of that one episode of the animated series where the kids all tell stories of what they think Batman is like. It’d be a great way to show how far the legend had spread, show that Bruce isn’t going to be the central character of the movie, and as an announcement trailer? Imagine it: All these different stories, and then the camera pans up, getting glitching and more staticky, to rest on Batman perched on the edge on the roof. It cuts to an extreme close-up of his jawline, as the corner of his mouth curls up in a small smile and lets out an amused little hum. Cut to black, movie release date. We all go completely feral.
Panda: There's no way you've read every Batman story Me, who has a sister who's read every Batman comic (including the Predator and TMNT crossovers: ...
On the Wolverine claws theory/thinking - ya know how with swords and knives and such you're supposed to clean the blood off of them to stop them rusting or going bad? Does Wolverine have to wipe them down before retracting them? Cause they don't show that happening. Which okay, he's got adamantium (spelling, sorry can't be arsed) so maybe that doesn't rust but like... And since they don't show that...does that instead mean that the blood on the claws from those he stabs and cuts up gets like...slicked off onto his knuckles when he retracts them and he then has just blood on his knuckles...or does the blood go inside of him and he'd actually be riddled with potential diseases in his blood that while his healing may cure may also mean he is just asymptomatic and able to pass on instead?
@@Wycoolp I absolutely think that's a fair assessment on how it works, but it's hard to imagine it all slicks off/that his skin heals around the blade as it retracts quick/tight enough to stop any. It's a Shower Thought I have far too often about Wolverine and his powers.
I think it's a bit of each. Adamantium takes a long time to corrode(if it ever does), so there's less worry about rust, most of the blood probably slicks off onto his knuckles, while his healing factor kills most toxins and pretty much all diseases on sight.
Iirc when his regenerative powers get less effective with age he starts dying from poison in his blood. The corrosion of the metal was always killing him but his healing factor makes it a non issue.
So, if one of the irreversible deaths in comic books (as of the mid-2000s) is Bucky Barnes, when did the Winter Soldier first show up in comics and is it possible that he was Marvel's answer to Jason Todd/Red Hood?
... I now want to make an animatic/storyboard of the horror movie idea now Cause my brain gave the idea a good amount of it could alternate between 3rd person of mob bro and 1st person of his view (especially during his encounter with the batman) and I just think that would be epic
Hey man, hope all is well! I just wanted to thank you for all of the content you’ve put out. In august I was hospitalized for about a month and your videos kept me in great spirits throughout. You make amazing content and you’re an even better person, so keep it up! 🤙💛
This reminds me of a marketing campaign my brother and I thought of a while back after BvS. The idea goes that ideally, the DCEU would've gone Superman, Wonder Woman, then NOT Batman. Yes. Not Batman. Instead, introduce other JLA members. GL, Aquaman, anyone. Who cares. But there's always this question. Where's Batman? Then, one day, something "leaks" onto social media. It looks like a shoot out being shot via someone's phone. Then, these guys are just taken out, viciously by a shadow. By standards are whispering in disbelief. It couldn't be. No way. The shadow throws something, and the camera footage goes static then black. Then the words appear on the screen. Bring Back the Bat Building off what BvS was described as (an older Batman who's seen it all) this would be a Batman that was a myth for a time but had faded away after the death of Jason. But the sudden appearance of meta humans (Superman, Wonder Woman, etc) prompts him to return to the world... just in time for the founding of the Justice League.
About the Wolverine claws thing I pretty sure that their is in a fact a panel on a comic book we’re it shows him popping his claws out of his fucking wrists so ya
You describing your idea for an Urban Legend Batman movie reminded me of this animated Batman special I saw years ago (like back when Toonami was a thing years ago, this was a whole special they were running that night showing off different animated Batman one-offs so sadly I don't know what it was called to actually look it back up). The backdrop for this is that Batman is chasing some assassin whatever-the-fuck (I don't know if it was a robot, a mutant, some League of Shadows bullshit it's not explained) around Gotham, but the focus is on a group of kids. Each member of the group witnessed a different part of the fight through the day across town, and had a different interpretation of who/what Batman is and what he looked like and how he fought. One saw him as a Bat monster, one saw him as a giant robot, one saw him as a literal living shadow. After everyone tells their respective stories, the last member who was the only one to not see any of the fight is still skeptical. Then the fight breaks into where they were hanging out. The kids scatter, the the Batman's fighting and injured, smoke has filled the room and just when it looks like Batman's about to die, this kid literally sneaks up and cracks the bad guy in the back of the head with his skateboard (and this is one of those animations where the sound effects are REALLY well done and there's a meaty crunch to the impact that just TELLS you this fucker has at LEAST a concussion now.) The guy drops like a wet noodle, kid's behind him holding his skateboard with a face that just screams "What the FUCK did I just do!?" Batman gathers himself up, blood on his lip, picks up the bad guy and just as he's about to leave he looks at the kid, smiles and says "Thanks", before vanishing into the smoke. The kids is still there looking like he's trying to process when his friends find him, asking him what happened, is he OK? Slowly the kid just starts to grin and the scene cuts to Black as he say "Ooo you guys are not gonna BELIEVE this!" Honestly the whole thing was just breathtaking and amazing to watch and really shows the impact Batman had on the psyche on even the average citizen in Gotham and I loved it.
With the Titans section, to a lot of people our first live action Jason Todd is also our voice of Jason Todd, Jensen Ackles not only voiced him but had the whole costume made for him and wore it for a magazine spread and was petitioning to be a live action one and it got A LOT OF VOTES. Just saying, I love it and he looks PHENOMENAL and lives it!
So I've been binge watching my way through these videos ever since my friend introduced me to ya, and I gotta say they've been a blast. Ever since watching The Batman, I've fallen back into a hole and I am only digging the grave deeper. Also! I really wanted to feed in my thoughts on 16:23 because while I am not nearly as versed in Jason Todd's story, I am quite an avid Sonic the Hedgehog fan. So I thought I would clarify a few things WhILE ALSO adding a bit of a fuel to the fire :) Alright! So just to reiterate, while I’m not too familiar with everything Jason Todd related, I am pretty well versed in the Sonic the Hedgehog lore (as in, I’ve read most of the Archie comics, know the stories of the games practically by heart, spent hours reading interviews/theories/fanfiction, etc.) and I've been a fan since I was like...5 years old. So I thought I’d just offer a bit more about the whole situation! Shadow using guns was actually something Takashi Iizuka (the then, and still, president of SEGA) included. If memory serves, Takashi got a letter from a fan who was asking if there could be a game where Sonic the Hedgehog could use a gun (why this child would want that, no clue), and Takashi was immediately like “Well, we can’t do that. Sonic has an image and character to hold up!” It just so happened, however, that they had a newly introduced Sonic look alike character who could totally take up that role. That being Shadow the freaking Hedgehog. I can’t say for sure that SEGA of America didn’t have some say in it, especially with Jason’s reveal, but I sadly don’t think Shadow was inspired by him. Though, I could be wrong. It was originally intended that enemies would bleed actual red blood and there would be more cursing, but at the time the new E10+ rating had just come out and SEGA cut out a lot of the more graphic bits to fit that rating (so blood? It’s green now! Totally family-friendly :)) Additionally, I do wanna share some other similarities, or just neat facts about Shadow. First off, Sonic Adventure 2 was meant to Shadow’s only game. Literally at the end of the game, we watch Shadow die. However, due to his popular he was with the fans, Shadow was brought back in Sonic Heroes, joining Team Dark (a team consisting of Rouge the Bat (hah!) and E-123 Omega). Funnily enough, Shadow had amnesia, not remembering who or why he was there (this bit was also emphasized in the Shadow the Hedgehog game). Within Sonic Heroes, it is heavily implied that Shadow is…not the Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2. Rather, the original Shadow is dead and the one we have been playing with is actually an android/fake. This is also explored in the Shadow the Hedgehog game, and sadly…doesn’t really provide any clear answers :/ Added to all of this, Shadow is one of the few characters to have loved ones who freaking DIE. Not on-screen, but they’re still very dead. One is Maria Robotnik, a 12-year-old girl who dies when a government soldier shoots her from behind. Shadow watched her bleed out on the floor and listened to her dying words before he was ejected from the building (oh yeah, this is all in space, btw). His creator is also killed later down the road, though we are never told how close they were. The point is, Shadow’s whole goal in Sonic Adventure 2 is to literally blow up the world, coming to the conclusion that because they took the life of an innocent girl, they should pay with their lives. He was only convinced out of literal mass murder by coming to the realization that maybe his best friend wouldn’t want him to eradicate all life from a planet she loved. It’s also shown that Shadow is…not afraid to kill, even after he’s over his scheme to blow up the hecking planet. I believe it is in Sonic Battle, but Shadow outright says he will destroy a robot (which, yes, the robot was sentient) because it was dangerous. Because it had the potential to hurt people and if it couldn’t be controlled needed to be taken out. If Shadow thinks that a situation can be better handled by destroying something, he will do it. And this is also something he applies to himself, because if he can’t be controlled, if he becomes a threat again, he needs to be taken out. And one more thing, because it does *not* get spoken about often enough, but before Shadow “dies” he is considerably more, how you say, brash. As in, there are voice clips where you can hear him say “I’m the coolest!” Or “it’s like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me!” just generally trash-talking Sonic/other players. This has certainly changed in recent years, where writers are trying very hard to make Shadow this dark and edgy character, when in actuality he’s more like an edgy teenager who is trying to find his way in life because he literally got Captain America’d. As in, he got frozen for over 50 years, woke up, remembered his (possibly) sister was dead, and tried to destroy the world. Gosh, he’s a fun character. So yeah, to summarize, and this is only from my own limited knowledge, we check the following boxes: color scheme; guns; being killed off; coming back to life (this one is iffy, because I don’t think it’s clarified if Shadow is the original or not); has relations with a bat; amnesia (pretty sure this is a shared trait. Apologies if not); family is killed; kills/tries to kill people in order to right a wrong; is not afraid to kill people for the sake of others; petty (in some ways); pretty distant socially aside from a few (select) characters; and overall just an edge lord who really just needs a stable person in their life, please. I won’t lie, I’m probably wrong on some fronts as I’m not as knowledgeable of Jason Todd as I am with Shadow, and I will say I grasped a little at straws. Which is to be expected, because honestly they are pretty different characters with their own unique traits, and so points are going to be stronger than others. But you have opened my eyes to this realm of possibilities and I gotta say I’m living for it. Oh my gosh, I am adoring just the thought of how much they share and even just...interacting. (As well as rolling at the idea of Jason Todd being, slightly, based on freaking “Ow the edge” Shadow the Hedgehog) Anyways, sorry for the essay. Just really enjoy the Sonic franchise and maybe went a little overboard ^^;
Oh so your thoughts on Jason in Titans are almost the same as mine on Cassandra Cain in BoP - though BoP Cass is worse because this is literally the first time Cass was EVER on screen in a thing.
There was a version of your batman horror movie idea in an episode of Batman: The Animated Series. It was told from the perspective of a couple thugs, a cop and someone else (I don't remember) where they told a different version of what happened.
Jason and Rose in titans hurt like it physically injured my person. Also the drug things struck me as more a Ravager the. A Red hood story. After all Fresh hell
If Velma season 2 has shown anything it's that WB will green light hot shit and ride the hate wave and cancel the stuff people actually want to see. I honestly have yet to find an actual fan of Titans in the wild. Lots of contrarian "influencers" and people that have never actually read the comics or seen any other version of the characters. The fan ratings have shown that Titans is almost universally hated by the entire fan base.
I love the noar detective Batman, he is self intitulated the "best detective in the world" and yet we rarely see histories focussed more on the investigacion side of his hero routine and I felt this is a pety. In close second is victorian Batman, something like 1889 Batman, he just fits the late XIX aesthetic very well for me
24:08, this sounds like *SPOILERS FOR MY HERO VIGILANTES* KnuckleDuster from My Hero Academia vigilantes sorta. He used to be the BNHA's universes' incarnation of the Flash thanks to his Quirk 'O'Clock' but he eventually lost it after encountering the Quirk-stealing villain All For One. Through a series of events he became an actual vigilante ]after a villain attacked his wife and stole his daughter, essentially becoming a bare-knuckle bruiser who's both muscular and smart enough to deal with any street villain even those with quirks, specifically his beef ends up dealing with an entity that actually possesses his stolen Quirk. Just thought I'd tack that here.
I absolutely love your idea for a Batman horror movie, now I don’t like horror films but I would honestly watch that. I love your videos and I’m always quoting your videos and your skits are so freaking funny.
Flash being trained by Batman after losing his powers reminds me of this concept of a superhero that I had as a kid. He wasn't born with his powers, but had gotten them through artificial means, and somewhere in his back story it's described as him never believing anything in his life to be permanent because he was constantly moving around as a kid, so he didn't know if he was going to keep these superpowers or not. so he began training his body just in case of the day that he would lose them.
About Logan's claws: in the ultimate-verse, when he and Peter changed bodies, Parker messed up his(logan's) wrist when popping his claws[if I'm remembering correctly]; in the main universe I think its much the same 'I gotta straighten my wrist when I pop these bad boys' thing but he's been doing it for so long he doesn't think about it anymore.
Also with the Batman horror movie, you could do future batkid cameos so easily. Like have baby Tim watching the news, or showing Barbara with the commissioner, or flashing past Jason or Steph in downtown Gotham scenes (depending on how long before Dick Grayson you could have a Halys Circus poster as well, but I’m not too clear on the timeline for any of this). Idk I just think it would be cool to see the kids exposed to the horror of Batman and either choose to overcome that, or want to emulate it later in life
I want... no, scratch that. I NEED your fucking movie, please write the entire movie, keep or promote it now, but you HAVE to do it. I would LOOOOOVE to see a horror movie like that, psychological, slow, fecki ng terrifying every second of it. Please do, yes? please and thank you. : D
6;20 ish to whatever ; wolverine canonically mis-pops his claws through the bottom of his arms by holding them wrong while on alien intoxicants in Wolverines #11
15:51 I'm pretty sure they were less trying to do the under the Red Hood version of the storyline and we're rather trying to do the Arkham Knight version of the story you know the whole working with Scarecrow thing Jason Hating Batman Joker already being dead scarecrow full-on controlling the city there's just so many things that just go back to Arkham Knight
Hi There is several times in the comics where Wolverine doesn't straighten his wrist and yep the claws just shoot out from under his hand. So yes he has to consciously straighten his wrist or he has a bad time.
Omg someone finally put it into words
The only thing I would change, is when Batman is holding the guy and he stabs, it finally focuses in on Batman’s face and the guy sees the mouth area witch isn’t cover and freaks out even more realizing he just a human being
Ikr
"Red Hood is to Nightwing, what Shadow is to Sonic."
That's a comparison I would never have thought of...and I kinda like that.
Also the coincidences with these two are scarily close lol
I'm a huge Sonic fan, so that small section of the video really threw me for a loop 0_0
Always love an unexpected reference
20:00 Where did they get off calling brother Voodoo a regrettable superhero. His mystical prowess rival that of Doctor Strange. In fact, I believe in canon, if Strange ever dies or can't fulfill his duties as The Sorcerer Supreme, Brother Voodoo is next in line to be The Sorcerer Supreme.
It’s either Him, wanda, magique or doom.
he did become sorcerer supreme for a bit but nobody liked the series so then he wasnt anymore also just cause he's strong doesnt make him cool
To answer the Wolverine question, no. He was once super drunk and to quote him, he "snikted" himself, did a Hidden Blade and the claws went through his palm.
I am sensory mostly hearing but touch is also a bit strong so your description made me grab my hands a little
@@deniser9625 that's very fair as a reaction
😟 oh my God
…I have just now realized that that Titans version of “Death in the Family,” at least how Panda describes it, could theoretically be salvaged with one -yes, *ONE*!- change: Make it a nightmare.
I don’t mean that as shade, not at all, I’m saying that it would actually work really, *REALLY* well from a character & story angle if the whole thing was a nightmare Jason had down in his coffin, either while he was dead or before he fully regained consciousness. It touches on basically all of his worst fears and would serve as great set-up for Jason reacting as violently as he does upon his resurrection. Here, let me just reframe things a little:
Jason goes to take on the Joker, not out of a true sense of heroism but out of pointless, stubborn pride.
Obviously, Panda’s covered the Batman angle, but lemme pitch horror movie Robin to you:
Imagine Batman is attacking your base.
I'm in love with this take
@@davidwilds8647Apparently the writers added Dick laughing whenever he disappears on people cause he was so amused when Batman taught him to do it, he couldn’t stop laughing. It would be terrifying if you were on the other end of it.
With how tough he is the bloody nose is definitely Damian
a Batman horror movie would be absolutely amazing, but what I would absolutely love to see is an entire movie series where we finally get proper stories for the Robins.
1: Grayson joins the team, Bruce spends the entire movie slowly coming around to letting him help (also age him up to like 14-16 at the start for the sake of ease) (as a joke, throw in Robin considering wearing the leotard Robin suit and Bruce outright refusing to let him, instead going for flexible and skin-tight pants)
2: Robin's all grown up and kinda feeling independent, he wants to be accepted as his own hero and get out of Bruce's shadow, he becomes Nightwing and then Jason joins the team toward the end, make Ra's the villain as foreshadowing for the next couple
3: An entire movie with Bruce and Jason with maybe a single appearance of Nightwing, Jason dies to Joker at the end, literally the last scene is Bruce pulling Jason's corpse out of the rubble. Make Ra's a reluctant ally in this one and build up respect, have Bruce save Ra's so he owes him, setting up for Red Hood. Talia and Bruce do it in this one, maybe leave the drugging out because that's really dark.
4: Bruce learns to accept help again, Tim joins the team
5: Under the Red Hood
6: Damien joins the team (have him join at the youngest age of any of them to really hammer home that he's just an abused kid), complications arise, possibly use a similar storyline to the 'Batman vs Robin' animated movie
Okay, your ideias if executed well would do an amazimg Batfam show
Another comparison to Shadow and Jason is that after they died, they were both intended to stay that way, but years later, would be brought back (in green liquid) by a villain, with slight altercations to their personality after being revived.
One being incredibly blood thirsty and the other suffering from amnesia, but still, it lines up hilariously well and I love that.
18:02
He DOES have two little throwaway cameos in Young Justice. But they barely count
It’s pretty clear that both he and Damian were being set up for later seasons, but those seasons never happened
The one about Flash without the speedforce is basically Owen Mercy but instead of being able to throw things super fast and super accurately, he'd just kick things XD
Ngl, that Batman horror pitch kinda freaked me out.
Great pitch btw, and I already have a title for it:
Batman: Nightmare
I know that technically 'Knightmare' is already taken by the DCEU but... 'Knightmare'.
@@RoryMarverous that also works
15:37 he was taking a non fear drug (FROM SCARECROW)to get rid of his ptsd for falling from a building and almost dying and so he didn’t think properly when going after the joker
My favorite era of Batman would probably be post-Tim Drake’s arrival up to Flashpoint. If that’s too broad, I’m sorry, but I just really like some of the stories that came out of that time
"Hey neighbor, I see you bought a lot of beekeeping stuffs lately. Starting a new hobby?"
"Uh... no, Dave. It's for my new job."
"Huh? What does beekeeping have to do with FBI work?"
"What... oh you're mistaken, Dave. I'm not working for FBI. I'm working for F-Bee-I."
And then Dave laughed so hard, he broke the fourth wall. The end.
Anw horror Batman movie where people depicts him more like a manbat? Looks like a job for Sam Raimi.
Finally the king as returned
Finally I can stop re-watching his older videos
"Barbara after an involuntary visit from the circus" you talking about joker or Grayson here I think both leave her weak in the knees
And going into watching Titans, I was like "Oh, it might be interesting to see a darker angle to their stories"
I stopped watching when they beat Trigon. I just couldn't get over how...boring it was for a guy who can stand up against Superman and Mr Mxyzptlk. I was just so checked out by that point, that when I found out they were doing Death in the Family I audibly groaned.
You made it further than I did. I grew up with the cartoon, so when I saw the previews, I was like "nope."
Beeman huh? Well to quote Batman (and Linkara) "BEES MY GOD!"
I feel OFFENDED LMAO
It's the reason why I pretend like the show doesn't exist.
Dude, ngl, you're awesome.
Just...in universe Batman cryptid implies...well...monsterf**kers would have a field day with that.
So like, Bruce Wayne is thirsted after by a specific niche of people and so is the Batman. I don't know what to do with this information??
Oh my God, I cannot stress enough how much I would love this horror mobster goons vs Batman movie
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
TAKE IT ALL I WOULD ASCEND IF I COULD SEE THIS
That movie pitch kinda reminds me of the "Have I got a story for you" segment from Batman: Gotham Knight where a bunch of kids are telling stories about Batman but dont really know what he is.
1:26 "GIANT MUTANT SPACE BEES" would be a great thing to have as a ringtone
30:25 - Panda's Batman pitch - Urban legend/ folk lore batman - I wanna practice storyboarding this at some point, could be fun.
For those of you who don't know the eras of Batman are
Childhood: when when Bruce was a child, think gothem or every time it shows Batman's parents dyeing.
Pre bat: Bruce Wayne training to become Batman.
Cryptid: he explains this in the video
Hero: this is after people find out Batman is real but before the justice League is a thing.
Sorry I meant arkem knight not gothem knight
Thank you for the explanation. I'd say hero. My first thought was BtAS Batman. I watched on tv as a kid, and it held up when I rewatched it last year.
He forgot to mention that Brother Voodoo has in fact become the sorcerer Supreme. The man has literally taken Doctor Strange's job
35:20
Sooo, The Batman, but a whooolllee lot more scary…I love it, would probably be the first horror movie I’d see
6:57 it shouldn’t matter because of his healing power, he came back from a single drop of blood
It'd still hurt like a having knives tear through your knuckles, and his hands wouldn't work until he retracted them
I feel like Titans!Jason is the kind of person that Canon Jason would choke slam through a wall.
Imagine it:
All these different stories, and then the camera pans up, getting glitching and more staticky, to rest on Batman perched on the edge on the roof. It cuts to an extreme close-up of his jawline, as the corner of his mouth curls up in a small smile and lets out an amused little hum.
Cut to black, movie release date.
We all go completely feral.
Panda: There's no way you've read every Batman story
Me, who has a sister who's read every Batman comic (including the Predator and TMNT crossovers: ...
Dude, your Batman horror movie pitch sounds fucking awesome! I WANT THIS MOVIE!!!
I actually think the blood slicks off onto his nuckles
@@Wycoolp I absolutely think that's a fair assessment on how it works, but it's hard to imagine it all slicks off/that his skin heals around the blade as it retracts quick/tight enough to stop any. It's a Shower Thought I have far too often about Wolverine and his powers.
I think it's a bit of each. Adamantium takes a long time to corrode(if it ever does), so there's less worry about rust, most of the blood probably slicks off onto his knuckles, while his healing factor kills most toxins and pretty much all diseases on sight.
@@hunterfox6176 yeah that also makes sense
Iirc when his regenerative powers get less effective with age he starts dying from poison in his blood. The corrosion of the metal was always killing him but his healing factor makes it a non issue.
So, if one of the irreversible deaths in comic books (as of the mid-2000s) is Bucky Barnes, when did the Winter Soldier first show up in comics and is it possible that he was Marvel's answer to Jason Todd/Red Hood?
From what I've read, it appears that Bucky came back as the winter soldier towards the end of 2004, start of 2005
... I now want to make an animatic/storyboard of the horror movie idea now
Cause my brain gave the idea a good amount of it could alternate between 3rd person of mob bro and 1st person of his view (especially during his encounter with the batman) and I just think that would be epic
I literally went checking for new videos a couple days ago. So glad to hear your rants again.
Hey man, hope all is well! I just wanted to thank you for all of the content you’ve put out. In august I was hospitalized for about a month and your videos kept me in great spirits throughout. You make amazing content and you’re an even better person, so keep it up! 🤙💛
Literally ending my well earned break with my panda boi
Bring Back the Bat
Building off what BvS was described as (an older Batman who's seen it all) this would be a Batman that was a myth for a time but had faded away after the death of Jason.
I assume Wolverine only had to learn his wrist flexion lesson once
I’d probably want all 3 of Zoro’s swords from One Piece, or a replica of Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from Return of the Jedi
*inhale* a fully functional replica of Sord from homestuck (or a replica of red hoods helmet, either the new one or the pill helmet)
so like zorro's current 3 swords because he changes 2 of them often
@@SonofEleknor yeah
I personally want a replica Of Ripley's flamethrower from Alien

Slowly the kid just starts to grin and the scene cuts to Black as he say "Ooo you guys are not gonna BELIEVE this!"
Honestly the whole thing was just breathtaking and amazing to watch and really shows the impact Batman had on the psyche on even the average citizen in Gotham and I loved it.
I completely agree with your opinion on Titans
His anger at the F Bee I is AMAZING 🤣🤣
With the Titans section, to a lot of people our first live action Jason Todd is also our voice of Jason Todd, Jensen Ackles not only voiced him but had the whole costume made for him and wore it for a magazine spread and was petitioning to be a live action one and it got A LOT OF VOTES. Just saying, I love it and he looks PHENOMENAL and lives it!
So I've been binge watching my way through these videos ever since my friend introduced me to ya, and I gotta say they've been a blast. Ever since watching The Batman, I've fallen back into a hole and I am only digging the grave deeper.
Also! I really wanted to feed in my thoughts on 16:23 because while I am not nearly as versed in Jason Todd's story, I am quite an avid Sonic the Hedgehog fan. So I thought I would clarify a few things WhILE ALSO adding a bit of a fuel to the fire :)
Alright! So just to reiterate, while I’m not too familiar with everything Jason Todd related, I am pretty well versed in the Sonic the Hedgehog lore (as in, I’ve read most of the Archie comics, know the stories of the games practically by heart, spent hours reading interviews/theories/fanfiction, etc.) and I've been a fan since I was like...5 years old. So I thought I’d just offer a bit more about the whole situation!
Shadow using guns was actually something Takashi Iizuka (the then, and still, president of SEGA) included. If memory serves, Takashi got a letter from a fan who was asking if there could be a game where Sonic the Hedgehog could use a gun (why this child would want that, no clue), and Takashi was immediately like “Well, we can’t do that. Sonic has an image and character to hold up!” It just so happened, however, that they had a newly introduced Sonic look alike character who could totally take up that role. That being Shadow the freaking Hedgehog. I can’t say for sure that SEGA of America didn’t have some say in it, especially with Jason’s reveal, but I sadly don’t think Shadow was inspired by him. Though, I could be wrong. It was originally intended that enemies would bleed actual red blood and there would be more cursing, but at the time the new E10+ rating had just come out and SEGA cut out a lot of the more graphic bits to fit that rating (so blood? It’s green now! Totally family-friendly :))
Additionally, I do wanna share some other similarities, or just neat facts about Shadow.
First off, Sonic Adventure 2 was meant to Shadow’s only game. Literally at the end of the game, we watch Shadow die. However, due to his popular he was with the fans, Shadow was brought back in Sonic Heroes, joining Team Dark (a team consisting of Rouge the Bat (hah!) and E-123 Omega). Funnily enough, Shadow had amnesia, not remembering who or why he was there (this bit was also emphasized in the Shadow the Hedgehog game).
Within Sonic Heroes, it is heavily implied that Shadow is…not the Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2. Rather, the original Shadow is dead and the one we have been playing with is actually an android/fake. This is also explored in the Shadow the Hedgehog game, and sadly…doesn’t really provide any clear answers :/
Added to all of this, Shadow is one of the few characters to have loved ones who freaking DIE. Not on-screen, but they’re still very dead. One is Maria Robotnik, a 12-year-old girl who dies when a government soldier shoots her from behind. Shadow watched her bleed out on the floor and listened to her dying words before he was ejected from the building (oh yeah, this is all in space, btw). His creator is also killed later down the road, though we are never told how close they were. The point is, Shadow’s whole goal in Sonic Adventure 2 is to literally blow up the world, coming to the conclusion that because they took the life of an innocent girl, they should pay with their lives. He was only convinced out of literal mass murder by coming to the realization that maybe his best friend wouldn’t want him to eradicate all life from a planet she loved.
It’s also shown that Shadow is…not afraid to kill, even after he’s over his scheme to blow up the hecking planet. I believe it is in Sonic Battle, but Shadow outright says he will destroy a robot (which, yes, the robot was sentient) because it was dangerous. Because it had the potential to hurt people and if it couldn’t be controlled needed to be taken out. If Shadow thinks that a situation can be better handled by destroying something, he will do it. And this is also something he applies to himself, because if he can’t be controlled, if he becomes a threat again, he needs to be taken out.
And one more thing, because it does *not* get spoken about often enough, but before Shadow “dies” he is considerably more, how you say, brash. As in, there are voice clips where you can hear him say “I’m the coolest!” Or “it’s like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me!” just generally trash-talking Sonic/other players. This has certainly changed in recent years, where writers are trying very hard to make Shadow this dark and edgy character, when in actuality he’s more like an edgy teenager who is trying to find his way in life because he literally got Captain America’d. As in, he got frozen for over 50 years, woke up, remembered his (possibly) sister was dead, and tried to destroy the world. Gosh, he’s a fun character.
So yeah, to summarize, and this is only from my own limited knowledge, we check the following boxes: color scheme; guns; being killed off; coming back to life (this one is iffy, because I don’t think it’s clarified if Shadow is the original or not); has relations with a bat; amnesia (pretty sure this is a shared trait. Apologies if not); family is killed; kills/tries to kill people in order to right a wrong; is not afraid to kill people for the sake of others; petty (in some ways); pretty distant socially aside from a few (select) characters; and overall just an edge lord who really just needs a stable person in their life, please.
I won’t lie, I’m probably wrong on some fronts as I’m not as knowledgeable of Jason Todd as I am with Shadow, and I will say I grasped a little at straws. Which is to be expected, because honestly they are pretty different characters with their own unique traits, and so points are going to be stronger than others. But you have opened my eyes to this realm of possibilities and I gotta say I’m living for it. Oh my gosh, I am adoring just the thought of how much they share and even just...interacting. (As well as rolling at the idea of Jason Todd being, slightly, based on freaking “Ow the edge” Shadow the Hedgehog)
Anyways, sorry for the essay. Just really enjoy the Sonic franchise and maybe went a little overboard ^^;
0:10 this is where it all began
That thrifting day was truly a blessing.
@@hickie41389 a blessing from fate
06:53 pretty sure it's stated somewhere that he's just learned how careful he has to be the hard way
I would watch that movie. Far more interesting than the zack snyder version of batman.
urban legend batman
YESSSSS I have been what in for ever to wach more of this it feels like years
Return of the king 👑
Oh so your thoughts on Jason in Titans are almost the same as mine on Cassandra Cain in BoP - though BoP Cass is worse because this is literally the first time Cass was EVER on screen in a thing.
Oh God, this is where it started, the. Weekly, not weekly show.
In close second is victorian Batman, something like 1889 Batman, he just fits the late XIX aesthetic very well for me
that batman horror movie pitch sounds fucking amazing
Sense you mentioned him Whats you're thoughts on the question especially the version that we got in the Justice league show
I absolutely love your idea for a Batman horror movie, now I don’t like horror films but I would honestly watch that.
I like the Batman horror movie pitch. It sounds awesome!!!
MY GUY!!!!
I NEED this movie!!
I didn't think Jason Todd would be a book worm. I more expected him to be into more cycles and cars
The movie pitch is something i want to see it sounds so damn badass and scary
Aww dog also on the wolverine thing he makes a good point
A full Batman suit I can't find that at a comic shop I want a full bat suit so bad
YAAYYYYY NEW CONTENT
Also with the Batman horror movie, you could do future batkid cameos so easily. Like have baby Tim watching the news, or showing Barbara with the commissioner, or flashing past Jason or Steph in downtown Gotham scenes (depending on how long before Dick Grayson you could have a Halys Circus poster as well, but I’m not too clear on the timeline for any of this). Idk I just think it would be cool to see the kids exposed to the horror of Batman and either choose to overcome that, or want to emulate it later in life
Good see back on RUclips
Speaking on your whole cannon thing I wholeheartedly believe that Jason Todd is The Red X in teen titans
I want... no, scratch that.
I always assumed that wolverine just focused his healing factor into his hands to make his knuckle bones grow (sharp somehow)
Yess .. content !
Do not have tiktok
@@jaredkasper3851 I mean here .. I can binge it here . I still have tik tok & watch all the videos ..
Oh sorry about the spelling
8:02 any thing to do with moon knight or boba fett 29:37 where he has purple gloves or batman beyond or urban legend batman
Jason Todd red hood has been around basically as long as I’ve been alive. That’s so insane to me I’m used to comic characters going way back.
ok i need this batman horror movie
This intro is tuff
The nerd memorabilia I want The Most, is a Red Hood helmet, because Jason Todd is awesome!
Hi
There is several times in the comics where Wolverine doesn't straighten his wrist and yep the claws just shoot out from under his hand. So yes he has to consciously straighten his wrist or he has a bad time.
Yess
imma just pretend this was released on my birthday on purpose and this is my present
Let's fucking go!!
35:06 this is how the joker was born in this series
Panda, if you were approached by WB to play Titans Jason, but the read the script, would you have accepted or denied it
Hey panda some of your older videos recently got age restricted but they didn't used to be did anything happen with youtube recently
