    Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
    They are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen.
Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
    They were:
    Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.
    We are #notacult.

Good first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello. 🤘🦊🤘

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥
Always glad to see more reactors getting into this amazing group. They were rocking out the whole World Tour 2023 and everyone were having a blast with the setlist, the new songs from latest album and the classic hits, especially GC! either you hate or love it, is a song with crazy amount of views and they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist.
Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop (not Kpop) and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey.
This isn't actually live sound, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance but they're not official members, only these trio are the front women.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._
The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later.
Some recommendations for next songs like:
    - _"Road Of Resistance"_ live in Japan official.
    - _Catch Me If You Can_ live at Budokan 2014 (you got a safe to react version with subtitles at GuilhermeCait channel) or...
    - _Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!_ live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas channel under "Head Bangya" title).
You have more than 70 songs to discover. Amuse their label is very hard to deal so if you want to avoid copyright blocked you have "Babymetal Reactor Resource" channel you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them.
I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it.
    See you next time! 🦊🤘🍫

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/dU38CYkpBvI/видео.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ruclips.net/video/nwsinmxTxbo/видео.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ruclips.net/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/видео.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ruclips.net/video/ESzY9dL613Q/видео.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ruclips.net/video/1dT1ywYR5So/видео.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/видео.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ruclips.net/video/M8FKumvh-w8/видео.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      ruclips.net/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/видео.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      ruclips.net/video/gDne0xwniTg/видео.html
There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

This is the album cut dubbed over concert footage. The concert was in celebration of Su-Metal's (the lead singer) 16th birthday and features both the cutseyest song in Gimme Chocolate as well as a sequence where Su-Metal gets crucified for her birthday as a much more metal contrast.

Fun reaction thank you for doing this! Always fun watching someone react to Babymetal for the first time, especially this performance of this song. It is from the [Legend 1997] concert and was done on Su-Metal's - lead singer - 16th birthday, just before they exploded into worldwide popularity.
There is nothing like this band, they are absolutely amazing from their start (right around the time of this video) to now. This is one of the more in your face cute+metal songs, they have a ton of range as well (for example scandanavian folk metal? egyptian metal core? brooklyn rap metal? check check check, name the genre and they probably have something in it or maybe even invented it).

    They are already adults now.
The vocalist is always selected as one of the top rock singers in the world by famous music magazines in the United Kingdom and is called 'Queen' in the metal world.
So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀

Nice first reaction and Welcome to the Foxhole (You'll understand as you go on :) This is a fun song about a teenage girl who likes chocolate but is worried about gaining weight. This, I believe, is the first video of them that went viral world wide and really broke things open for them. It was because of this and fan requests that they were invited to Sonisphere in the UK in 2014 and first made their mark on the world stage. When they first came out most of the crowd was like, 'WtH is this?'. By the time they did their last song, Ijime, Dame, Zettai, (An anti-bullying song that I urge you to check out sometime) the crowd was chanting 'We want more!' They've been taking over the world ever since :)

That was a fun reaction. I'll mention a couple things-that honestly may already have been mentioned-but hey I did enjoy your take. This song is over 10 years old and the infamy it gained on RUclips, the whole WTF factor really helped to put Babymetal on western music radar. This has the most views on RUclips-186,000,000 as of this comment. So someone doing a search for Babymetal this is inevitably the song that comes up first. It's a fun song and really catchy. That said Babymetal is so much more than this. They are still going strong and their music has evolved immensely while still being unmistakably Babymetal. The Mosh'sh pit I've heard is a more "polite" Japanese version of a western mosh pit. Now that you've heard early Babymetal, personally I'd enjoy seeing you react to current Babymetal. My suggestion would be: *The One, live at the PIA Arena, Clear Night 2023* ruclips.net/video/-TX6CCJ-0bY/видео.html Babymetal refer to their fans as the One and this song is dedicated to the One. After the "we want chocolate but we're worried about our waists" 'cause that's what it's about of Gimme Chocolate. This song demonstrates how far and how well Babymetal have come in the ensuing 10 years. I hope you'll enjoy.

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊Did you say "cute + metal"? That would be Kawaii Metal, pioneered in Japan in 2010 ... by BABYMETAL, they created (gave birth to?) their very own metal sub-genre - that is part of the reason they are called BABYMETAL. The other is because of the similarity in both spelling and pronunciation of BABYMETAL and Heavy Metal in Japanese .... but they were very young when they formed as well, so maybe that had a little to do with it too, but not so much.
'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs, they have many that are deeper and more meaningful, nearly all of them are positive and uplifting or inspiring - but you will struggle to find another song that sounds like this one. Also don't worry if you don't understand the language or if the translation isn't great (although they are very good at getting the general meaning or feeling across), someone will always explain for you .... but as Su-metal once said "Don't think. Feel."
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
BABYMETAL are the three girls - Su-metal (lead vocalist) and Moametal and, since April 1st last year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in - audience participation is a huge part of what BABYMETAL are all about).
The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues.
Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers) dancing in the third spot (it was the same one, Momoko, from about February 2020).
They teased the reveal of a new third member in April last year - happily it was her, so she is all mic'd up and singing as well as dancing now.
BABYMETAL formed in 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Kobametal (their producer) was so impressed with the vocal talents and stage presence of a young girl (Suzuka Nakamoto) when he saw her with her previous group that he thought she would be wasted in pop and could do something with the music he liked (he is a lifelong metalhead). She inspired his idea for a band fusing metal with Jpop aesthetics with her fronting it as lead vocalist.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.

Hi from Ireland, they gave progressed so much, but this one tends to get mixed reviews from first time reactors. Absolutely suggest "road of resistance live in Japan, akso early on, Su was 17 but i think a lot more mature in its message and theme, its a real epic show, then next "monochrome live at pia" , its recent and very epic, hope to see more will subscribe and thanks for reaction 😊

Babymetal is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances.
The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Su-metal (vocal and dance), Moametal (scream and dance), and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal" (scream and dance), with the concept of creating a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013, following Nakamoto's departure from Sakura Gakuin.
Babymetal have released four studio albums since their inception: the first, Babymetal, came out in February 2014. Their second album Metal Resistance was released in April 2016. The group released their third album Metal Galaxy in October 2019. Their fourth album, The Other One, was released in March 2023. Babymetal has embarked on several tours, with a majority of their tour dates taking place outside of Asia.
In October 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Mizuno had decided to leave the band due to poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. After her departure, the band performed with one or more backup dancers known as the “avengers” at live performances. One of those dancers, Momoko Okazaki (a former member of Sakura Gakuin), joined Babymetal as the third core member in April 2023, under the stage name Momometal.
This song is about a young girl who loves chocolate but is worried about putting on weight but she loves chocolate and it makes her happy so she gonna eat chocolate.
This was filmed 10 years ago a few days after Su turned 16, Yui and Moa were 14. Welcome to the world of Babymetal, they are massively popular and have toured all over the world including the USA and Europe at some huge venues (Tokyo dome, 55,000, Glastonbury, 35,000). There latest track is Ratatata a collaboration with Electric Callboy a German metal group and its brilliant.

Lol, welcome to Babymetal! Gimme Chocolate definitely delivers the "WTF" factor like no other. It's a fun and goofy song about girls wanting chocolate, but worried about gaining weight, and encompasses the light hearted, fun, and child-like side of early Babymetal. These gals are an international powerhouse and 13-year veterans of the music industry who started in 2010 when they were 12/11. In this video, lead Su-metal just turned 16 (it was her birthday concert - Dec 2013), and Yui and Moa were 14. At their core, Babymetal is 100% a live performance act with 9+ years of world tours, 4 albums, and 60+ songs to their credit.
Since discovering them through the same "WTF" reaction to this song, they've quickly became my all-time favorite band. I love their stage presence, energy, and variety of musical styles. They are the only band that seem to make me smile while listening to such heavy music.
Babymetal has evolved as they've gotten older (now in their mid-20s), but always stay true to their roots of energy, enthusiasm, and positive message. They've just traded their child-like "kawaii/adorableness" for a more grown-up version today.
Suggestions for you to sample their spectrum of music:
*1). iine! (Official Music Video):* 2nd single relased, "Baby" Babymetal's message to the world that they will not be bound by traditional musical expectations as they cram every genre in 1 song, and pulling it off masterfully.
*2). Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Dark, ominous, and heavy. Showcases lead Su-metal's voice in her epic solo with a sick band intro.
*3). Road of Resistance (Official Video, Live):* An epic power metal anthem in Jan 2015, and one of their staple show-closers for almost a decade. 17/15-year old Babymetal leads a sold out crowd of 20K in epic wall of death and circle pits.
*4). Karate (Download, UK, 2016):* Epic and Djenty festival performance with awesome crowd engagement.
*5). Starlight (Legend Metal Galaxy 2020):* Somber, heavy, and melodic. Many fans consider it an unofficial tribute to Babymetal's late guitarist Mikio Fujioka. Overall, an epic performance.
*6). BxMxC (Budokan 2021):* Babymetal does Rap?
*7). Monochrome (Babymetal Begins - Clear Night, 2023):* Mid-20s Babymetal does a mid-tempo hard-rock with heavy metal elements, and an emotional performance with awesome crowd engagement.
*8). Metali (Official MV):* Newest single from Aug 2023, Babymetal kicks away restrictive high-brow traditions and calls on all the boys and girls to enjoy a metal festival, while featured Guitarist, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine does his magic on the guitars. Fun times for all.
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

This is studio audio dubbed over footage of a live show so doesn't really show their true talent. It went viral ten years ago though so is often the first one reactors turn to. There are many better songs, not that this is bad but a true live version is better. They are adults now and still churning out cracking tunes. You should check out some of the more recent stuff.

    Welcome to the fox hole!!
This was the "meme song", they can vary a lot from song to song.
If you want to react to more BABYMETAL songs, I highly recommend you doing to live performances (Although this video is live, the sound is just from the studio version), they are amazing live. Those are some of their hottest performances:
    - Headbanger - Live Apocalypse at 1997
(Note: is not from 1997, that year is the birthdate of the main singer)
    - Karate - Live at Download Festival
    - Ijime Dame Zettai - Live at Sonicsphere
    - Distortion - Live at Download
    - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan
    - Catch me if you can (with Kami band intro)live at Budokan Black Night.
    - Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro

You’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around for a bit over thirteen years now (they started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the band in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs:
Doki Doki Morning (official music video)
    Iine! (official MV)
Gimme Chocolate!! (official MV or Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
    Megitsune (official MV)
BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) [for those who are religiously sensitive, see the Budokan Black Night 2014 version]
Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Song 4 No Uta (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Uki Uki * Midnight (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Catch Me If You Can (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Live at Sonisphere 2014 version)
    Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Road of Resistance (Legend 2015 New Year Fox Festival version)
    Karate (official MV)
Meta Taro (Five Fox Festival version)
    GJ! (Fox Festival 2017 version)
Sis Anger (Fox Festival 2017 version)
    Shanti Shanti Shanti (official MV)
    Pa Pa Ya!! (official MV)
    BxMxC (official MV)
    Metalizm (official MV)
    Metali!! (official MV)
I would include the links but, for some reason, RUclips sometimes thinks I'm posting spam and will delete my comment. For the links, see the RUclips playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty”; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 RUclips channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)
    KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝
This footage is from the 'LEGEND 1997' concert, held in December 2013, celebrating the 16th birthday of the lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su).
    "1997" is her birth year.
The two younger girls, Yuimetal (Yui Mizuyno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) were both 14.
The BABYMETAL members are very aware that their initial impression is often "WTF?".
They compare that to what they thought when they were first introduced to metal music.
This whole concept of combining JPop music with Metal could have been a disaster, but the quality of the singing, songwriting, choreography and staging take it to another level.
'Gimme Chocolate!!' is definitely one of their "poppier" tracks.
They have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce.
Not all at the same time though. : )
Pretty much every song is different.
They believe that if any song sounds too much like it's from a single genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song.
I hope you keep going. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

    👍 👍
BabyMetal began 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
In the beginning Amuse showed little interest and the girls had minimal financing. They performed at strip malls and small venues borrowing clothes for shows from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack.
They quickly became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues).
Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performance instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals)
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.
