I remember reading about the etymology of "Barracora," so I looked it up. Turns out it was originally named "Barracuda," but there were negative connotations at the time (I'm not really sure what, as it was before my time), so the name was changed to "Barracora." Okay, I looked THAT up, regarding barracuda, and it seems that in the 80's into the 90's, the fish had a reputation for attacking swimmers, as well as following them around (as they think humans are really big fish and hope to get their leftovers), and they were feared and loathed for that. The image faded as it became wider-known that barracuda attacks were rare and accidental.
Great video and thanks for demonstrating the best System 7 game IMHO :) Bowen figured out the left spinner lane scoring at the the end of the game but I think it is worth clarifying. The left spinner lane advances the bonus for each lamp lit in BARACORA (lights are lit by the corresponding drop target). This shot is can be worth big points and is safer than shooting the drops since the ball goes back to the top of the playfield. When the multipliers are maxed out at 5x5 and all all BARACORA lites are lit in the lane each shot up there is effectively worth 5 x 5 x 8K =200K in bonus! It's still worth shooting up there even if the mults aren't maxed as the spinner is lit for 1K for 10 seconds when a target bank is completed. I'm not a fan of removing the upper right arch gate, but it's PAPA so I guess they have to make the games harder :) I have extra balls enabled on my own game so making 4-5-6 rollovers is even more important. I'm not sure why this rollover lane change arrangement wasn't used on other games (or was it?). Only game I know that has a similar feature is Stern's Mustang but I could never figure that game out and I don't think it's quite the same.
in Mustang, the FORD lights can be toggled with the flippers, but the pony lights are dependent on the spinner (with a few exceptions for certain modes)
On the standard rom set, it does have a 2x and 3x multiplier during multiball, but the only scoring that’s multiplied is the target shot near the horseshoe.
Kitzingen Germany... House of Lights, right next to Donkey Kong Jr. For as much as we played this back in the 80s, I don't remember the gameplay at all.
there is a ROM set that corrects the multiball scoring to 2x and 3x. Sharpes have it. also it looks like the flippers are rebuilt with the newer parts the v is shallower and there's flipper hop from the right feed. the metal guide is probably hammered.
I need that ROM set!! I've owned Barracora since 1984 (ish) and the lack of a real reward for achieving multiball is the one thing missing from this game to make it perfect (and speech as well!) I rebuilt my flippers with WPC type and they are definitely shallower and make it more difficult to trap the ball.
Why would you want to "collect the bonus" up top if you also get it at the end of your ball? Assuming it's not maxed (and you can collect and reset), then it should be the same amount. no?

Nice table. I would love to see that table on "Pinball Arcade" in the future.

Bowen needs to do another game, with your tips included

Having trouble finding a way to PM you on RUclips. So will send you and email as we have corresponded before :)
10:08 - I don't think that Eight Ball Deluxe had drop target bank, where each of the drop targets could be separately reset.
Bowen smokin that SUPER DANK !!!! 💨💨
That game seems pretty complicated for an old school machine.
Nice Board Design

Does the GI relay ever switch off the GI?
