- In episode 107, we make it to Belize, our 26th country, the smallest country in Central America. Belize is well known for the second largest barrier reef in the world and its beautiful island beaches, however, we take you to the western side of the country to see what the mainland has to offer.

The napkin on the drinks is also to keep flies and wasps out of you drink, 😂😂😂
For a real Belizean meal, you haven't tasted Belize until you have had rice and beans with stew chicken, (or stewed gibnut aka royal rat.)
Thanks for featuring then mainland and not just beaches and islands.
Enjoy the rest of you visit in my lovely jewel of a country,
Lots of love from a Belizean ❤🏝🏖
Thank you Zanlee! Unfortunately we didnt get a chance to try the stew chicken or royal rat haha!
@@MathersOnTheMap Well, then you have a great reason to come back and visit our lovely country again soon.
I'm glad you enjoyed your time here.
Happy trails for the rest of you journey.
🇧🇿 ❤🏖🏝
OMG!!! I'm glad you guys loved my country!!! Thank you for adding Belize to your tour!!! I'm from San Ignacio and I'm currently residing in Wisconsin which I do love. ❤ 🇧🇿
We loved Belize and we’ll be back! Belize to Wisconsin sure is a temperature change haha!
I’m glad you liked Belize! I live in San Ignacio and I’m glad more people are hearing of not only our Town (correcting you as you said City😅) but also our beautiful country Belize🇧🇿🔥 thank you for putting my country on your list and for sharing it to the world🙏 stay safe and I wish you guys the best of luck on your travels!😊
Thank you Joel! San Ignacio town was amazing! Love Belize, love your country!
I haven't made it to Belize yet. I didn't get the feeling of it being overly 'touristy' which is a plus for me. Lots of good tips as per usual. Thanks for sharing!
The islands are a bit more touristy (you’ll see in our next two vlogs) but it’s more local restaurants and bars that locals eat as well, atleast for caye caulker, San Pedro is touristy for sure haha
Kev. She passed the test. She rolled down the window for you. She is one of the great ones (Bronx Tale lol)
Hahaha yes she is!
Hey Guys
Thank you so much for visiting my beloved country 🥰.
The tamales is right wrapped up with Banana Leaves .
Thank you Ashley your country is beautiful! Good to know about the banana leaves haha! We had no clue!
ANOTHER BANGER!!!!! So cool to watch what y’all were up to ;)
Haha thanks guys!! Editing San Pedro now!
Welcome to Belize… hot, rainy and humid!!
Thumbs up on the house… NICE... no mega style resorts!
I personally loved your rental vehicle!… but then I am a bit biased since I am a Jeep owner!
Your thinking was correct… if it rains, the dirt roads become quick sand!
You mentioned Guatemala… that is a whole another adventure… makes Belize look sedate… the Mayan ruins in Tikal are fabulous!
“Big Rock Falls”… that is what life is all about... creating moments!
Stopping for sweet corn… we did the exact same thing!
I am with Taylor... lots and lots and lots and lots of bug spray!
Did you know the caves are sacred places to the Mayans?
GREAT VLOG... hope it inspires more people to leave their comfort zones...
Should I look forward to some scuba action from the Cayes?
Thanks Leo! We only did Airbnb’s here which was nice to switch it up.
Guatemala is on our list as well!!! Hopefully we’ll get there soon. We didn’t know that about the caves and the Mayans that’s interesting!
Unfortunately we weren’t able to scuba due to the conditions and the wind we were really bummed. We did get a chance to snorkel though on one of the first days we got to the cayes when the weather held up. Bummer but another reason to go back.
El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America. Sending love from northern Belize💕🦋
oops!
Amazing adventures. Love it. Thanks for sharing guys.
Thanks Joel! Did you buy a boat yet?!
@@MathersOnTheMap No not yet. I’m suffering from the paralysis of analysis.
Am happy you visited my beautiful country.
Love Belize!
Welcome to Belize 🇧🇿 Great Volg☑️
Thank you Rasheed!
@@MathersOnTheMap you’re welcome have a safe stay🙏🏿
@@MathersOnTheMap you’re welcome have a safe stay🙏🏿
You might be sitting on the porcelain throne tonight after that street food. Good luck! Lol!
haha how do you think I practice my chess game?! 😂
What a fun adventure!
Liked the “taco time” shout out to @Drifterjourney!👍
Thanks Elizabeth! We were missing Greg and Jess! Jealous of their Baja adventures
Can’t wait for the next vid!
Thank you!!!
Posted to Belize in 1977. Spent 6 months in San Ig. It has changed so much. Still looks great.
Would have loved to see it back then! It’s still very local not too touristy! We enjoyed it! Thanks for watching Peter
Well that was hardly the "mainlands"..was hoping you'd hit Corozal. But not sure how much time was planned for the various spots. Belize has a ton of caves an rivers and rivers you can ride through caves, ruins, etc. Every time you said "blue hole" I just kept thinking of the ocean phenomenon Great Blue Hole off the coast of Belize.
Hot Tamale! That was very funny … pretty countryside.
Haha Taylor’s a goof! Thanks for watching Vince
Thank you for the wonderful overview of my country...glad you enjoyed yourselves
Guess you guys were here long before 8gallons of gas cost a little over $100
Thank you for watching Drea!
You missed the awesome farmers market in San Ignacio, one of the reasons I moved here.
It was on our list but we weren’t there on a weekend
spelunking and water falls what an adventure 👍
Belize beat our expectations! We really enjoyed it!
Would you tell me where you stayed while in Cayo? I love the little casita! Think it's great that you two have a dream and can make it reality. Never stop!
Nice video! I love Belize and want to visit there! 👍 😍💖
Neat place! Liked the different foods & the Blue Hole, especially! 30 countries b4 you’re 30-when is the deadline?
Thanks Babs!! We turn 30 in May and we will be in our 28th country…. So I guess 30 during 30 now haha! We tried!
I think you missed out at the blue hole by not using a guide. Israel took us tubing through the underwater river and told us many stories about how the Mayans used it. It was amazing, plus these guides are treasures of information and survive on tours. Same with the ruins. We learned so much! Support local guides!
Would have loved to if we had more time!
@@MathersOnTheMap It did take awhile. We were down there about 1 1/2 hours. You guys are on a mission! I was just on vacay. We had 10 days.
Wow guys great vlog x
Thank you Michelle!!!
Great video! Obviously we love the street food but the ruins and waterfall looked pretty awesome too. The cave reminded me of a temple cave in Bali that we visited (nothing like it but that's where my mind went).
Thanks y’all! We need to meet up again!
Very good video. Although the tamale is made in banana leaf, not seaweed :)
Thank you!! Yup made that mistake haha
damnn he came right where I live dang.Glad you enjoyed our country 🇧🇿🇧🇿❤️
Thank you!!! Love your home town!
You should try the garnachez with the ketchup lol
They were so good!!
So my wife is from buena vista Belize right there by Spanish lookout. Your cabin is close. Can you tell me what the name of the rental was. We are always looking for a new place to stay.
I believe it was called the farm house off Airbnb!
@@MathersOnTheMap Thanks, I never thought about looking on Airbnb.
We don't have ocean we have sea
Oops!
The tamales is not wrapped in seaweed 😂 it's wrapped in banana leaves.
Haha oops
