Jordan Peterson on The Theory of Evolution

- This is a portion of a lecture where Jordan Peterson talks about the theory of evolution. He notices that the Darwinian evolution theory isn’t complete, and he believes that Darwin was wrong on a crucial point when it comes to natural selection. Then he goes to talk about the missing factor of evolution, the factor that hardcore Darwinians are missing.

According to the Wikipedia page on sexual selection, "The concept was first articulated by Charles Darwin who wrote of a "second agency" other than natural selection, in which competition between mate candidates could lead to speciation. The theory was given a mathematical basis by Ronald Fisher in the early 20th century."
In short, this has been known for a long time, and it's a standard part of evolutionary theory. There might be a few things missing from the theory, but this ain't one of them.

I remember having a discussion with someone, just like me or anyone else he wanted to get rich, but I tend to ask more questions so I asked Why do you want to get rich? And eh said well so I can buy a big house by the lake and a ferrari and a yacht....And I said why do you need a Ferrari? Well it's a beautifull car, it's fast and having one is just the ultimate goal of every man. I said is it? Why the big house, when all you need is a bed to sleep a room to eat and make food, a room to relax and one for personal hygiene, why would you want 10 or more rooms? He answered well that shows of my status and this way I would have a hobby room and a jaccuzi and a swimming pool.... I said yes I want that to, but what is your ultimate goal to owning that. And he didn't have an answer other than well all men want it, you said you wanted it so what is your goal? And I asked don't you know? You want all that but you think it is status and owning beautifull things, but you don't know the ultimate goal of all that status and beauty? And he got irritated and asked go on then tell me what is the ultimate goal? And I looked him straight in the Eye and said "To get laid more often and more easily" and he looked at me as if I said something perverse, something only a trivial mind wojuld come up with and I said think about it? Whose eye do you want to catch with that Ferrari when you are zooming down the street, park it and get out in your 3 piece suit in a public place? The 90 year old war veteran? the bum down the street? Or every single hotty that just just looked at you for longer than 10 seconds when you got out of that car? Who do you want to woaw when you bring them to your mansion? Your mum? She only sees how many rooms need to be cleaned, Noo that girl you brought home in your Ferrari, you want to show her every room and save the master bedroom for last right? He looked at me and asked "As if I am so shallow, couldn't there be more bigger goals" so I said "like what? Making more money? get's you Low status women willing to climb higher, Using that money to save the Bonobo's? Will get you the girls who are easily wooed by some puppy eyes and furry little creatures, Owning a home shows or deceives them into thinking that you are willing to nest". Your goals are not money, not a house, not a yacht, it's procreation, shallow as it may seem nature and instinct will urge you to do better than other men, to own things that are rare and expensive, to make humanitarian goals that aren't achievable by others, to have the STATUS, that allows you to have your literal pick of the litter when it comes to possible mates, wether that are a hundred hussies or that one special person you allways had a crush on, that is your ultimate goal.
For years he didn't agree with me thinking there had to be another reason, only when he got married and re-thought his life and opbserving others, he came back saying "you know I think you where right"
How can you believe existence of God and in the same time believe that we come by evolution?
This video isn't about God. But I don't think it's a problem, a lot of theists believe in evolution as we have clear evidence on it.

@@muhanadtaifour4241 It's beside the point. Can't God design a basic specie that would evolve into a higher and more adapted one?
@@muhanadtaifour4241 Why does it have to be an either/or? Why can't it be a both/and? Primitive thinking like this is the reason why people abandon religion altogether because they think the two can't co-exist.
@@humannature698Not for Christians, we are created apart from animals. Believing in evolution is the same as not believing in God at that point.
Im getting the idea he doesnt know what evolution is and that scientist know very wel sexual selection is important in evolution
@Daryl Brown Darwin himself wrote "The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex" over a hundred years ago. The stuff Peterson talks about has already been known for a very, very long time.
According to Darwinists , all life evolved from single celled sexless organisms , which themselves ' just appeared ' . Then as if by magic , single celled organisms developed male and female sexes . There is no explanation for it . Evolution is complete nonsense . There are apes and there are men , and there is no missing link .

@@humannature698 Jordan Peterson used to be non-religious, however now he is a Christian, recently he even considered joining the Eastern Orthodox Church
@@yermonov3697 I know that lately he was pretty close to Christianity but I don't think that he converted yet. He clearly believe that Christianity is good but I guess that he still doubts whether it's true. You cannot say that a person who still can't answer the question ''does think god exist?'' is a Christian

@@yermonov3697 He was always a christian and even suggested blasphemy laws early on in his career. The he was rebranded and went 'viral' 'naturally' and pretended to be atheist to manipulate you
