This game needs a new sequel that isn't dumbed down

The only game I ever played that was actually chilling to play,.The sounds, your comrades dying beside you,.the isolation,.the desperation,.Was like a terminator movie or something,.Playing in the DARK was just amazing

@sonic-templeos - This was a first person Gears of War game. One of my uncle’s had this game in the mid-late ‘90’s. Original Quake, Classic Doom and this game was the Halo, Gears of War and Red Faction 2 of the 90’s (at least in the PC Realm). That’s what I meant when I made that comment. It’s been so many years, I forgot about this video.
*Just so you know, I was 10 or 12 when I saw this game in action.

Да! Сейчас Игры по Вархаммер 40000 не дает той атмосферы, это не просто тупая игра шутер, тут нужно думать , продумывать каждый ход, есть несколько режимов игры, 1 лицо, стратегия реального времени, пошаговая стратегия (ограничено по времени).
Тысячи часов чтобы пройти игру , каждую карту и не просто пройти а пройти без потерь ...

The music from 3:53 onwards was my 40k theme for most of the 90s
It's a unique depiction of 40k. A third person narrator giving a dispassionate analysis of exotic factions, with the visuals reminding us that even a galaxy as turbulent as 40k is still mostly just empty, silent space. Perhaps a taste of what Stanley Kubrick's adaptation would have been like.

This intro is perfect to introduce new people to the game without throwing all the lore of 40k just a summary of only what is on the game and what you need to know but i didn't see other w40k doing intro as good as this one. and not like space marine where it's just a sentence.

Thank you so much for uploading this. It is one of my favourite intros to any game ever and the PC version was the best. It is so well done and faithful to the source material.

Однажды я продержался около 30 минут в рукопашном бою против врага, и вся семья болели за меня, но в конце меня убили и я был так вымотан , что просто пошел и лег на кровать и лежал час отдыхал.
Просто ИИ ботов не сильно умеет в рукопашном бою играть и в 9.5 из 10 случаев погибает , и тебе приходится оценивать сцену битвы , где помочь боту, или нет.
Кого куда поставить , чтобы не сдохли просто так . Посл же грамотно всех привести в пункт эвакуации.
Это игра просто опередила свое время! Это Хардкор ! Тут нету обучения как в нынешних играх, (нажми эту кнопку, жми другую, тем более я в детстве не знал Английского языка), все проходили через кровь и пот, и часы , сутки, недели, месяца боев.
Если портировали эту игру в ПК и т.д. и управление сделали адекватное , ну графику подняли , то бы я купил бы и за 1000$ ! Ибо это шедевр!
Несколько игр заставляют тебя держать в напряжении и одно из этих игр ЭТА!
Атмосфера, Страх, Ответственности за братьев и за каждого потереного брата (терминатора) сердце обливается кровью , когда слышишь его крипы в рации.

GW these days just seem a lot more concerned with creating as many new types of Ultramarines as possible.
The Emperor needs plenty of Smurfs to hold the line and get ripped apart by fish of fury etc. Though the SM have the edge atm. No time for GW anymore

Anyone know if you can get a pc version or somehow play this on a ps3? I freaking loved this game i think i've actually replayed this game 3 times over. Waaaay ahead of it's time fps and strategy, experience gain, it's hardcore if you lose a marine you don't get him back etc. Not to mention the badazz voice overs. So epic.
It's available on PS1. Should work if play the disc on PS3. It's not the best port of the game as it's slower than the PC version, but it does have a great soundtrack and atmosphere.
Remember when genestealers weren't tyrranids? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

The are highly intelligent, not like any wild beast
They make coordinated attacks, ambush, evasion, etc.
They have a strong survival drive until they are found, because they dont have chance to win a fight, they go all out and try to take at least one space marine with them.

i never got the lore and story behind the warhammer universe.. first off, is that OUR future or is it the future of the wahmmer universe with orks and evles? second, whats up with the tech? its the year 40.000 and they use stuff thats 15.000 years old? did tech become forbidden around the universe or did they just stop delevoping new stuff? without any context or knowledge about it, those informations make no sense at all. why would they use stuff thats that old and why didnt they make something better? i know, its fiction and artstyle, but its really hard to graps how "tech" 38.000 years from now on, feels older then what we have
dharkbizkit i don't know much about it myself, but i think it's something like humanity at one point got fucked so hard that they lost the people making their tech, and as time passed and fewer people understood it so that shit it became like magic to them, i think there's a few ppl left who understand the old tech now and they are treated like sages and wizards for their knowledge
It is our future, or something similar. At some point, the Warhammer Fantasy world was part of the 40k universe, but Games Workshop deleted that. And some tech was banned because humanity had issues with intelligent robots (the Iron Men, probably corrupted by Chaos)
It's something similar to the Butlerian Jihad in the Dune universe.
There's also another problem, the Imperium in the 40k universe is in constant danger (Chaos servants, Orks, Tyranids, you name it) so they don't have time to research new stuff.
