This toilet is a piece of shit. NEVER buy one. I'm saying this from experience.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Would you please elaborate on what specifically you dislike about it? Thanks in advance!
@@BruceAlanR The thing I dislike about it is the lack of bowl rinse, weak flush, easily cloggable, and it doesn't move stuff through the pipes like the older ones.
Thanks for clarifying!
Flush it!
Great point! Not sure why I didn’t think to show it flushing. I have links in the description to videos showing it flush.
terrible toilets
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This is one of my all time favorite toilets. I love the dual flush option and that the bowl is a bit taller than a standard toilet… I’m tall. 😃
@@BruceAlanR never buying dual flush again ....but if works for you....kohler best on market
I wish you had demonstrated the flushing capability of your toilet.
Good point Marshall! I should have thought of that. I’d be happy to post a follow up video if it would be helpful. Please let me know what you’d like to see flushed (other than golf balls, cat litter, bricks, or things that might get flagged as inappropriate on RUclips) and I’ll put it together. Thanks for the feedback and subscribing.
Hi Marshall - Another user has done a flush test of this model... here's the link.ruclips.net/video/gRO1gfRJTxQ/видео.html
You didn't even flush it for us???
Great point! Not sure what I was thinking. Ha!
Your toilet haiku was was pure poo-pee genius!!! On a scale of 1 to 2, I'd give it a "solid" two! Ha! How's that for overdoing toilet puns? Yous asked for it. Thanks for the video.
Nice!
Why did you not flush it......I could care less about the fluff, i want to see it work.
Hi Wally - yes I probably should have shown the flushing action (sans waste) to demonstrate. There’s a flushing video in the information section as well as another user video here: ruclips.net/video/gRO1gfRJTxQ/видео.html
Hope that helps. This toilet does not use a lot of water, so sometimes a toilet brush is handy for the big jobs... or a second #1 flush sometimes works too. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the review of your loo!
Good one!
I don't know what's with the thumbs downs. This was a great review that was short and to the point that addressed everything one would want to know. Thanks!
Glad the video was informative! Thank you for leaving a comment! Stay safe and healthy!
He got thumbs down for not showing the flush--which is the most important function of a toilet.
Fair enough. If you’re interested, I posted a link in the description at the end of the video that shows the toilet flushing. Thanks for the feedback.
I went with Glacier Bay. Havent installed it yet. I heard they don't flush well but i dont feel like exchanging it. With me luck.
Good luck! How’s it work out?
can the seat be replaced?
Hi Ann - yes, the seat of this toilet can be replaced. I replaced the seat with a Bemis, elongated, soft close seat. The Bemis seat doesn’t have the same profile, but it’s much easier to clean. Here’s a goofy video of me changing the seat.

Great video... and thanks! You saved me from getting this not knowing I couldn't put a ton of stuff on t of it! I subscribed in case you're trying to monetize...because of the Feb. 20th deadline.
Thanks for leaving a comment and subscribing. Yes, the Feb 20th change is a bummer. Much appreciated!
is it comfort height? How high?
I’m unsure of what constitutes comfort height, but measuring from the floor to the top of the middle seat, it’s 18” high. It’s the tallest of our toilets (the others being 15.5-16.0”), which is comfortable for me being 6’ tall.
The toilet seat bowl looks larger than the tank.
The tank is slightly smaller than the exterior of the elongated bowl; however, the tank is not smaller than the interior dimensions of the bowl.
so glad I'm not your grandma
Right? I’m not sure why my folks said that when I was a kid.
Is there any way to adjust the water-fill inside the tank. My is a little over 5 years old and every now and then I am not getting a strong flush when I press the button. Content in the bowl seems to have no bearing on this problem. I notice the take is barely half full.
Hi James - A weak flush can be one or a combination of issues and I apologize in advance if I’m misunderstanding your question or over explaining things you may already know. If the water in the tank is not getting to the water line marked on the tank, you’ll need to adjust the fill valve just as you would in a standard single flush toilet - Minor water level adjustments are made by simply adjusting the height of the float (slide tab to “open’” and then turn the thumb screw clockwise to raise float, then slide the tab to “close”). Major water level adjustments are made by adjusting the height of the valve, but you’ll need to remove the valve to do it since you have to remove the clip, unscrew the fill valve body counterclockwise, push the body up, tighten it clockwise and put back the clip.
If the water level in the tank is not the issue (meaning it’s at the fill line), check that the heavy flush float is at setting 8, the heavy flush door is set to 5, and light flush adjustment is at 12. You can try increasing those settings, but it will result in more water being used.
You may also try removing the lid and manually flushing the toilet using the flush buttons inside the tank (located at the top of the flush valve). If that solves the issue, you may need to increase the length of the threaded rods under the lid by loosening the black plastic lock nut and adjusting the white threaded rod by a small amount (just make sure you don’t make it so long that the flush valve stays open).
Hope that helps! Good luck!
@@BruceAlanR I have looked for a fill level line inside of my American Standard H2option Dual Flush and I do not see one in the inside of the tank. However a water stain shows me where it had come to for 5 years (2013). As you may know mine looks a little different inside than some that I see now on the internet For example, The two rod plungers on the underneath side of my lid are very short compared to what I'm seeing in images now. Also, my float is black and stands alone on the left side of the tank. I am sure they have made some model changes in the last 5 Years. Mine does not even look like the one in your video above. I will keep an eye out on everything else. Thank you for your response.
Did you have trouble configuring the flushes correctly? I just bought the Round version of this but i can’t seem to get the right flush performance.
Hi Jason - My flushing mechanism was correctly adjusted out of the box (ie, water levels, flush levers, etc) although I still read about the mechanics in the manual to understand what may need adjustment/replacement in the future.
Thanks for the response! Sadly, mine was not configured properly out of the box (The main float cup was too high, the flush valve settings were off, etc.) which makes me not sure if the rest is properly configured (like the float cup that triggers water to the overflow tube). All I have is a sticker that says to set the water level to 3/8" below the overflow top; unfortunately, it's not clear whether this is 3/8" below the top of the tube or the top of the overflow float cup. :(
Why didn't you show the flush? So easy to do that, and so obvious.
If you’re interested, I posted a link in the description at the end of the video that shows the toilet flushing. Thanks for the feedback.
