I think it is great your daughter is entering the hobby and actually wants to do videos with you. I have three adult daughters and I have been constantly putting the coins in their hands and explaining to them the value of silver. My LCS has video cameras and one time they forgot to pay me on a 2021 Peace Dollar from a large collection I brought in. I only realized it when I got home and noticed it was not on the receipt. They played back the footage and called me back in to pay me on the coin I sold them. I then bought some Morgans with the money while I was there. So always be honest and deal with honest sellers. Robby has to be one of the youngest LCS owners I have ever seen and I think that is awesome. You can tell by the items he orders and has for sale.

Wow...ok so now I know why some ppl have advised for certain pieces like old numismatic or semi-numis to only buy in official holders. Or I found a great reason today when you mentioned ppl melt the old gold down and then mold n stamp them up themselves which only makes sense if you're going for a more valuable date or something. Or unless they are composing the melt metal the same proportion as the pre-33 and then stamping it. But it's just random gold/silver/copper etc mixed up identically to the pre-33. Idk...

I try my hardest to convince people new to buying gold and silver, to find a reputable dealer that’s been in business a while and has good reviews. My local dealer is about an hours drive, but it’s well worth it. His premiums are actually less than on line dealers, and having the benefit of “service” goes a long way. He may not always have exactly what I’m looking for, but he’s constantly updating his inventory, and will often order what I want.
If someone robbed me, I would definitely give them the metals with RF tracking tags specifically reserved for them so they can play a game of tag with the cops.

I wonder if it makes more sense to buy pre 33 gold coins that are graded because they will hold their value better and there's the peace of mind that it is authentic. I wouldn't mind a vf grading of a gold coin with a high mintage. Hopefully the premium wouldn't be much higher then bullion.

@@mercurialmagictrees Sometimes the holders are just as fake as the coins but in general it is better to buy graded. The upside to finding ungraded coins and getting them graded is the quick profit, and satisfaction of a good hunt.

@Jeremiah Gibbins of course I approve of stacking gold! And I like your plan of consistent/achievable goals. But I would not recommend trading them in for bigger pieces unless your trade covers all the premiums you paid along the way. Also, if you ever need to sell gold for an emergency or something, it's better to have multiple pieces so that you don't have to sell all your gold. Like if you needed 500$ and you only have an ounce, you will have to sell $2,000 worth of gold and when you buy back in, you'll pay another premium.
@@vm.999 yeah I got to keep that in mind as the world is definitely going to shit but, I've never had an oz of gold and would love the achievement of an oz. In terms of silver I truly messed up, and traded a tube of generic rounds for a $10 gold liberty head.
Interesting take on fakes. Was required to return fakes from eBay purchase early on with stacking. Took to LCS to verify for refund they weren’t overly concerned with them being ASE commented on the fakes being good. I had checked with scale and magnet didn’t pass. Mint should step up security features for sure. Thanks

@Paul Richards 😆 I have so many similar memories. I was a gunner for 3 years so the lightest thing I carried was a 249, usually it was the m240 after I jumped out of the airplane with it. I'm pretty short so I'd basically drag it out of the plane and fall head first towards the earth 😆 I had a few situations where I found myself carrying a mark 19 from 1 position to the next. Basically it all sucked. I'm glad we survived to tell the tale!
