I 100% agree. Songs from this game have such a special atmosphere to them that feel 80's, but not in a cheesy 80's way. I think "Vampire Killer" sounds excellent as well.
The NES sound chip can be very powerful when the programmers know what they're doing. This sounds absolutely proper as if it were a real NES version of Castlevania
Simon's theme SLAPS, as always with your work. Have you ever considered doing live shows? The US East Coast chiptune scene is really blowing up right now and would love to see you
Yes, Yes, A million times YES! Someone is finally giving us an 8-bit NES / Famicom sytle of the Super CastleVania IV OST. You sir deserve a lot of support & respect for doing such an amazing project. Think about it, A CastleVania IV 8-bit style soundtrack. That is mind blowing for all the CastleVania fans & an awesome tribute for the games 30th anniversary. Really digging the NES / Famicom artstyle of the SCVIV logo & the outside gates ❤. But the biggest question is. What is the tracklist going to be? 32 or 35 tracks?
As far as aI know, for Castlevania lovers, the best of the best Castlevania ever is Symphony of the Night, but for me, and I’m not a deep connaisseur, always be Castlevania IV or Super Castlevania, and it’s because of the music, it’s amazing how just in a 16 bit console you can get such mysterious, cold or mystical atmospheres; even the “relaxed themes” like “Library” sounds cozy (even for a such a pain in the arse level!) so, this OST is by far my all time favorite one along with Super Metroid // Metroid 3 one. Btw! Nice downgrade here taking it to 8 bit, it still sounds terrific! 🤘🏻
No matter what bit this soundtrack's in, it still rules! Regardless, this is an impressive conversion. Well done! Love the track list and the seek bar btw
Could you imagine what an open world remake of Castlevania II would be like? No map. Just walking around trying to follow paths to towns only to get bizarre and cryptic hints which only confuse you more and more. Townspeople setting up traps for you, lying to you to try and feed you to Dracula or other monsters. Stumbling onto vast unoccupied castles and mansions only to get killed by invisible enemies you need an item to see but you don’t even know that? Man. It would be so good.
This is an _impressive_ effort all around! It's decidedly _not_ Akumajou Densetsu style. It feels more like the source compositions properly translated to the VRC6 sound chip, and _boy_ is that translation done well. My personal favourites are getting _all_ of the nuances of Clockwork Mansion (Rotating Room), as well as Treasury Room, Dracula's Chamber, and Simon's Theme. Excellent work!
Really cool! Part of me is wondering where the death theme is, but apart from that, this pretty much covers all the bases. I love this soundtrack, and I love this series. 🦇🏰🦇
@loeder I love your work because you are of a rare breed who truly understands what an 8-bit or a 16-bit or honestly whatever you tackle sounds like. Not only do you do the song and the hardware justice you push it beyond those limits to give us a glimpse of what these new and classic songs can sound like. I love your work, i do a lot of writing with your covers in the background. You are a talent, never forget or realise that your creativity helps others with theirs and you provide nostalgia and entertainment as you give new life to songs of old and new. Truly you are of best and to give the world Super Castlevania IV in its entirety, my god man, its a privilege.
The couple 8-bit renditions of the 16-bit renditions of the songs that were originally done on an 8-bit system make me lol, but are also very good. Real solid job ya done did with the whole thing.
Coming from someone who's first Castlevania was this game I'm beyond excited for how good this sounds. I've always felt SC4 had some of the best versions of the series staple themes and how they managed to encapsulate that fear and horror in the themes. Thank you for doing this for us to enjoy and listen to!
This is INCREDIBLE. Even after hearing what you were gonna release, I never expected this expansive of a selection of covers. Definitely gonna have this on as a work/study mix.
You've done a very impressive job of doing this soundtrack in the 8 bit NES style and I can tell you've made really good use of the 2A03 and VRC6 chipsets as well. Even in this format, it still has the feel and vibes of the original 16-bit soundtrack from the game. It almost makes me want to play the game again and since I have the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Steam, I may end up doing just that. Well done with this. Keep up the great work. :)
Nice! So it's basically the SCIV OST remade with the tools Konami used for the japanesse version of Castlevania 3? The first 20 seconds of "Mechanical Trick Mansion " are still one of my favorite moments in any soundtracks
my fave castlevania in 8bit, wow! very much appreciate the work that went into this. keep up the good work! the intro to super cast4 was always my favorite ost and this sounds pretty darn good
Terrifying and beautiful. One of the best game soundtracks of all time. Kind of reminds me Pink Floyd for some reason. Great job on this thorough remake.
0:36 Every one hundred years the forces of good mysteriously start to weaken. Thus, the power of Dracula starts to revive itself. His power grows stronger and stronger every one hundred years. Dracula has revived many times. However, his sinister actions have been consistently thwarted by the Belmont Family. It's been one hundred years since the last confrontation between Dracula and the Belmont Family. But now the serenity of Transylvania is being threatened by destructive forces. On a dark and eerie night Dracula rose from his grave to unleash his destructive power over the countryside. Once again Simon Belmont is called upon to destroy Dracula. With only his whip and courage he sets out to restore peace to Transylvania.
It sounds more close to a genesis with those stereo abalities in mind, Now if only will ever see an 8bit version of it on the famicom, that would be cool.
Always loved Super Castlevania's take on "Bloody Tears". My personal favorite rendition, to be honest.
I’ve been saying this for years, I’m glad to finally see someone else agree
Totally agree. This soundtrack rules in general
I 100% agree. Songs from this game have such a special atmosphere to them that feel 80's, but not in a cheesy 80's way. I think "Vampire Killer" sounds excellent as well.
I love this soundtrack it's a classic and has been copied and redone but the original is the best and BLOODY TEARS IS DEFINITIVE
Why wouldn't you be honest about that?
Simon's theme is still the best thing ever
15:26 "I was just trying to find the f***ing trolley" 😂
1 of the best ideas the hole soundtrack wow.
Demon forest me gusta mas 🗿
Nope, Dracula’s is the best thing ever.
courtyard !
Brilliant!
b-but Alucard!
Master Alucard, vc aqui! EU achava que era o único que gostava de ouvir ost, principalmente o de Castlevania
The ending theme for this game feels like waking up from a terrible nightmare.
It's such a special moment when you grab the final orb and instead of hearing the usual fanfare you get the sound of relief.
The NES sound chip can be very powerful when the programmers know what they're doing. This sounds absolutely proper as if it were a real NES version of Castlevania
Going Into The Castle (Courtyard) will always be my favorite castlevania track. Love it.
Totally with you. Amazing track and to hear that sort of tune on 16 bit blew minds
Love what you did with sunken city. That’s my favorite track in the game.
It's honestly incredible how perfectly you remade the ambient sounds using the 2A03 and VRC6 channels
Map B is butter to my ears.
My top ten:
#10 - 30:35 - Knight Corridor
#9 - 12:47 - Waterfall
#8 - 15:26 - Sunken City
#7 - 50:40 - Bloody Tears
#6 - 54:38 - Vampire Killer
#5 - 04:21 - Simon Belmont's Theme
#4 - 00:36 - Dracula's Theme
#3 - 55:43 - Beginning
#2 - 1:04:41 - Ending
#1 - 1:00:21 - Dracula's Chamber
agree on all of these
Simon's theme SLAPS, as always with your work. Have you ever considered doing live shows? The US East Coast chiptune scene is really blowing up right now and would love to see you

34. Look at the number of tracks, dude.
@@hieioni3354 I'm now watch the premiere. And you're right, The 8-bit Super CastleVania IV OST has 34 tracks.
@@moxxiefan2.055 You're welcome :)
@@hieioni3354 Thank you. Have a great rest of your day.
@@moxxiefan2.055 You too.
Thanks for putting this together, you've done a really good job on this, "Rooms of Close Associates" sounds phenomenal. Enjoy a cold one on me

It sounds way creepier than it was on the SNES. Amazing
EDIT: Demon Forest? Wouldn't it be Forest of Monsters?
I think Demon Forest is the Japanese name of the music.
No matter what bit this soundtrack's in, it still rules! Regardless, this is an impressive conversion. Well done! Love the track list and the seek bar btw

Well SOME KIND of map would make the game a hell of a lot fairer.
this is what elden ring is like. the game has a map tho
I smell a skyrim mod
Sounds like a 3D Simon's quest if you ask me.
@@GDD1231 This makes me want a Castlevania game made by From Software!!

Awesome Super Castlevania IV soundtrack in 8-bit!

we are so back
26:42: Stage Clear
1:09:11: Game Over
One day you'll be famous
Finally, a cover of Bloody Tears where the climax at the end with the flute and bass drums are done right❤

Wow - just started listening, but so far this is stellar. Would love to see you tackle the Secret of Mana OST, I bet you'd knock that out of the park!
I can't even imagine how much time you spent on this. The result is just magnifique!
Glad to see this channel again.
I just beat Castlevania 4 again recently, so I'm glad to see this! Great Job.
Probably the best remixed soundtrack I ever heard

I loved playing my SNES copy of this game! I'm all nostalgic now. Well done on remaking the soundtrack here! ^^
23:33 Such an underrated song
All I think about when looking at the album cover is "Don't talk to me or my son ever again" meme
True lmao
Disposable humor, those meh-meh's.
You spend too much time on the internet if thats the case
The whole sountrack of the entire game?
Jesus!
Thank you so much!!!
Woah, you really went all out here. Love the playlist visuals. Phenomenal work!
Absolutely amazing... tears dropping on my soul.. deep and deep. creating this marvelous universe, called *Super Castlevania IV*
This is fantastic! Thanks very much for sharing!
Vrc6 is an awesome expansion chip!!
Love the transition from Map B to Treasury.
I didn't know I needed this. Thank you!
This is an immense project. Great job.
It's amazing! Good job, thanks man
Awesome!!
thank you for all the efforts
Amazing work, waterfall is a song that i have used many times for ttrpgs, your demake is one of the best remixes there is.
man this brings me back to my childhood i was in elementary when this game came out always a classic.
further proof that this is the best super Nintendo soundtrack… it’s a masterpiece, even in 8 bit
Cv4 is holy for me and the music did that. 16 bit was great.
Knowing that this actually sound really cool
Nice!

The Secret Room is the one place in Super Castlevania where I only killed once in all my playthroughs. Man, did I feel bad.
20:00
aka Clockwork Mansion
Now THAT'S how to make good 8 bits remix or a ost!
Btw that artwork is like "The Adventures of Simon and Belmont jr" lol. Love it!
How ironic “Beginning” is the music for the second part of the last level.
Terrifying and beautiful. One of the best game soundtracks of all time. Kind of reminds me Pink Floyd for some reason. Great job on this thorough remake.
Masterpiece, awesome 8-bit cover
Amazing! i always wanted to hear Bloody tears and Vampire killer in 8-bit style 😭😭😭
So familiar...yet so new...yet so old...I love it!
I am in complete shock how well these sound!
wonderful! I am impressed by your genius! Thank you for the good arrangement!
My respects. The soundtrack's still one banger after another. Konami themselves couldn't have done better.
I like that the secret room theme now sounds like a rejected Mario 3 bonus room theme
Ah yes, when dracula was going through his Jazz phase
And ambient

First Super Metroid now this ost, excellent work Loeder! 👍
I wonder which Ost should be done next?
Vampire Killer is one of my favorite songs from this video! It's better than the VRC6 edition of Castlevania III!
I need a demake.... NOW. Also this is a small fraction of the likes this deserves to have.
The Treasury Room song is by far the best in the entire game. Bar none.
This is awesome (all great but Mechanical Trick is just wonderful). Super CV4 is my favourite game soundtrack ever. SOTN fanboys need not apply
holy crap this is cool.
Amazing
EPIC! 🤯❤🔥
👌
20:01 my fav track
i love it ^^
Forest of Monsters (Demon Forest) would be a top tier Escape theme.
Trabalho incrível!
This is amazing I just wish I didn't have to sit through so much of the video to listen to the endgame tracks. My only complaint.
Pillared Corridor!! 🔥🔥
kinda reminds me of the ost to the nightmare on elmstreet on nes
Happy Halloween 2024.
