The Hyatt Regency Dallas is located just outside the craziness of downtown Dallas and is within walking distance of many sights and attractions Dallas has to offer. This hotel is popular with convention attendees, business people, and vacationers alike. After hearing much praise about this hotel, I decided that I’d do a staycation to see what the hotel is really about. The hotel is within walking distance of Kay Bailey Conv. Center and the hotel also has massive ballroom facilities. Comparing this hotel to the only other true downtown hotel I’ve stayed at, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, the Hyatt is a massive improvement in multiple ways. Upon arriving, the hotel was immaculate, the service was great, and they got everything right in the rooms! The only real criticism I have is that the furniture is starting to wear out after years of service, but given I only spent $147 a night here, it’s hard to complain when you can get a high-end hotel for the price. In the end, if you need to be in the middle of downtown, the Sheraton may be a better choice, but if your convention is here, you want a hotel with nicer rooms, or you want to get out of the city center, the Hyatt Regency is a great hotel, and I highly recommend staying here.

Very nice. And your reference to "y'all", I get it. (If you were to jump on I-35 and take it all the way up here to Duluth, we don't say "ya sure, you betcha" either. 😂)

I remember when the elevators were Otis. I did stay in the hotel once. It is definitely nice and the elevators are well behaved compared to the amusement park rides at the Sheraton.

Having stayed in both hotels, I can certainly attest that this one is nicer and overall a better value as the rooms are bigger and nicer, and the prices here are usually $10-30, under what the Sheraton charges. The elevators here are certainly much more reliable than the Sheraton's, but this hotel thought ahead and put the proper amount of elevators in the main tower; as for the skyline tower.. 3 may have been more appropriate. One night here there were having a massive wedding and all the wedding guests were put in the skyline tower and a line formed after the wedding cleared out. It would have been cool to see the main tower elevators as original Otis, but Schindler did do a great job for the most part, and I will say in the main towers the wait was never longer than 30 seconds, which is impressive.

@@Anatole2201 The original floor indicator still works which is nice. The ones in Reunion Tower were Otis and each elevator had a separate controller. I was able to ride the employee elevator once as someone forgot to unlock the floor on the main elevator. The indicator was very cool and the elevators had classic leveling. Schindler did a nice job. Too bad they neglected the ones in the Hilton in San Antonio.
