About 25 years ago I was traveling by plane in Russia on business. When we landed and I was walking down the stairs to the runway a casket was being taken out of the Jet. I said "sad" to the flight attendant and she said "he was soldier". So having served in the US Army I step out of the line and saluted. I stood there as a man pushed the casket along. Two men seeing what I was doing also step out of the line and said in Russian "soldier?" I replied "Yes", they both came to attention and saluted. As we stood there saluting the captain of the jet came out and stood beside us and saluted to. We all held our salutes till the casket was gone. The men looked at me and said "but you are not Russian. Why would you salute?" I told them "because I too was once a soldier and we are all brothers."

It is true that America has a bigger army because they didnt sacrifice anything during the WW2 and got technologies from Nazi scientists almost for free while Russia had many casualties plus Communist regime. Still, Russian army makes up they lower numbers for higher quality army and America could never, ever in their existence defeat Russia. Because Americans cry for even a few dead soldiers, loosing for example like 10000 of them would extremely undermine their morale. Plus American army lacks discipline, which Russian army has. America can be defeated in an open field just fine. If there was a big scale war between Russia or America, I think that no one would have won and both sides would have just lost. Thats what Americans and Russians know and thats why they dont attack one another. Thank God that American army is not led by reckless egoistic idiots like you.
