- Nigerian artist Burna Boy has won the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards after being nominated for a second consecutive year.
The singer is one of the most successful African artists in the world. He hit the music scene in 2012, after releasing the album ‘L.I.F.E’.
The singer talks to BBC News Africa about winning, his album "Twice As Tall'' and the importance of Africans telling their own stories.

I agree Burna deserved it. I'm a big fan from long but i also think if Asa dropped her first album in this time where she had songs like "Jailer" & "Fire on the mountain" she would have also been a worthy shout for the award.
It's high time his talent is recognised... Been a fan since "Tonight" and the moment I discovered him in 2012... I knew he's set to become Africa's finest... He was underrated for a while... But he trusted himself and never changed his style... And here we are...
"Tonight" was def a special moment. He took an average beat and made it into a musical masterpiece

I’ve been a fan since his song ‘like to party’. I was watching mtv base and the video and song came up, and I was like wow I love his voice. So glad to see him doing this great in 2021!

That title is quite misleading, it has pomposity in it yet the interview is relatable, mellow and motivating. Way to go Burna Boy.
I've always thought that he was very unique in so many ways. In my humble opinion, he’s the best in nija right now even without the Grammys. Lyrically, He's tasteful and unique. Congrats sir.
