exactly. they dont own one and just comment to feel good about themselves on the internet. really pointless and useless comments. For me personally, one of my side hustles is selling oled monitors. I am able to get them abit cheaper and sell them as a middle man. of course i sell them cheaper than retail pricing. So i have used many different oled monitors be it WOLED and QD Oled. Personally i am using the LG 32GS95UE because i really like the dual mode 480hz mode as i play CS2 and i do work that is best use on a 4k monitor. The LG monitor really suits my usage. in the day, 4k mode and while gaming on CS2, i switch to FHD 480hz and i got no issue with the clarity in FHD. i just turn higher the anti aliasing setting and it looks sharp and decent for CS2. of course desktop in FHD is bad so i just switch to 4k when i am surfing the net.
LOVE my LG 34GS96QE. Hands down one of the most gorgeous pictures I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing with great gaming features. Coupled with my 4090 and 7800x3d I’m enjoying peak gaming
The g80sd is definitely the best of the ones I've tried. I've had the lg 32gs95ue, the alienware aw3225qf, and that g80sd. I'll never understand how some people think they know better than people who review products for a living.
So after using glossy and matte monitors you still choose matte G80SD? I'm planning to buy 4k OLED, it'll propably be matte S32DG80. I saw people saying glossy ones are better and have better image quality, is that true?
@@mrbartek3122 So I have an old matte TV and an old glossy TV. On those, the difference in clarity is night and day. I believe that's where the stigma comes from. On modern screens, there are no difference in dark room performance and matte is slightly better in bright room to me. Though I encourage you to go see for yourself. You should be able to go to your local best buy and look at samsung's flagship matte tv next to other high end TVs from LG and Sony and draw your own conclusion.
@@mrbartek3122 Due to matte coating, there is extra haziness to the image. However Samsungs matte coating is much better than your traditional matte coating, so this effect is much less noticable. If your room has a lot of uncontrollable light and you use your monitor during the day, glossy is not a wise choice.
@@mrbartek3122It's something you have to see for yourself. Many people won't care and if you get the matte screen you'll 100% happy with it, but many people who get glossy for their second monitor say the image looks clearer, which is simple to understand, a smooth surface will look clearer. If you look at the rtings site and look at a close up of the OLED pixels of a glossy and matte qd oled, you will see the matte one has a hazy texture to it, which you may or may not notice based on many different things like preferences, eyesight, room lighting. But with that being said, the G8 has one of, if not the best panels of any OLED monitor and it'll look amazing either way. If you have a bright room the matte one will be the better choice.
Yes, it is. Samsung typically markets its QD-OLED displays as simply OLED. That allows them to have a panel lottery in some regions and models, but don't worry, all of Samsung's OLED monitors are QD-OLED. However, watch out for the TVs, as some of them use W-OLED.
thanks RTINGS team for all the work you do! though, it's too bad you'll have to update this video whenever you finish the review on the ASUS ROG PG27AQDP :)
Very informative video, I do recommend you guys see if you can increase the number of monitors you test as they would inevitably lead to a more accurate best for x list.
Thanks for the review. I am not sure what is it, but I tried both the LG and the Samsung monitors from this review at one of the local retailers shops (I took my laptop to try it on both) and the image quality I got on the LG was superior. I even tried different use scenarios and brightness / modes and the LG kept showing better image quality in terms of color and brightness. I decided to purchase the LG monitor since it was discounted too.
The state of the OLED market is a bit sad. There are finally awesome options at 32" with high refresh rates on awesome panels that can hit pretty good brightness. Unfortunately the DPI at 4K at these sizes is a no-go for productivity. At 27 inches, the entire market is 1440p, and the few 4K options that exist are not just overpriced but also limited to 60hz. The dumb people running this industry continue to imagine that over 60 Hz is only for gaming, which is infuriating.
Something that's disappointing with every reviewer... No one seems to mention that 4k 240Hz with DP1.4 - no monitors have DP 2.1 yet as far as I know... means that they aren't true 240Hz @4k or even WOLED models with dual mode, they aren't true 1080 @ 480Hz. They use Display Stream Compression, which some people argue they don't notice, but others have bad notable artefacts. So yeah... bit disappointing that absolutely no one is mentioning thus fact. I'm going to be waiting to get DP2.1 for true 4k 240Hz and 1080p 480Hz if I decide to get a dual mode for competitive games.
I know you're using your hands & arms to properly sequence the accentuation timings in your sentences, which can be a good idea, but its fairly robotic looking and distracting from what you're saying once noticed. Try varying your gestures or crop just below your t-shirt logo.
@dezmondo007 Thanks for your review of my comment Desmond! However, the purpose of a RUclips comment section is to provide feedback & discussion on the video. A few people did agree that my comment seemed to be relevant feedback. Cheers anyway! Have a great day.
Truly disappointing video. I understand you guys have a high volume of products to test, but this makes your reviews invalid. For example, I find it insane that you guys recommended the 32GS95UE over the PG32UCDP. The LG has many HDR issues such as CPC dimming and wrong EDID data. It also does not have DLDSR in the 1080p mode. At the same price, it would be Ludacris to buy the LG over the Asus. I have lived with almost all the 4K OLED panels this year and the best QD-OLED is the PG32UCDM, the Best WOLED is the PG32UCDP, and the best bang for buck in the US/Canada is the MSI 321UPX.
Hey! You're right these are great monitors too, and in fact you can't go wrong with any of the OLEDs that have come out this year. That said, we take a few factors into consideration, including price and availability. As mentioned in the video, the PG32UCDM is fantastic, but it's expensive. The MSI is also worth getting when you can find it available, but it's not always easy to find. The race is tighter between the 32GS95UE-B and the PG32UCDP, but currently the LG is cheaper, and we didn't experience any of those bugs you mentioned.
I was testing the Samsung G60SD and the LG 27GS95QE for about 4 months and ended up selling the Samsung, even though it was a little brighter and the whites were a little better, I didn't like the finish for the reflections they put on it, with light it looks exactly like in the video, all opaque and gray blacks, in dark games when you have light in the room it looks horrible. I ended up being more convinced by the LG, especially for those deep blacks and it doesn't matter if there is light or not, it doesn't suffer from the same, plus it is more compatible with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
cant wait for pg27aqdp 480hz qhd review! some VERY different feedback i saw on this model - very BAD vrr flicker ... and some did said it is okay. I hope they will at least consider a glossy version since buying oled with matte coating makes 0 sense imo.
My best favorite small monitor? ViewSonic VX1655-4K-OLED 15.6 Inch 4K UHD Portable OLED Monitor Sad thing is, it only does 60Hz. But that's fine as I don't do eSports at all and I only play single-player games. I do have a 42" LG C2 OLED TV, but even with a computer connected to my TV and my TV set to PC mode, I cannot tell a difference between 60Hz and 120Hz, but I bet 100% of all the non-gamers and gamers could. I must be the only one who can't make out 120 frames per second with a 120Hz TV. And yes, my PC was set to 120Hz as well, but at the end of the day, 60Hz is fine for me.

I mean what's really the point of having an OLED monitor for work that is bound to get burn at an accelerated rate. OLED monitors are directly marketed to gamers for that's really the best use case of these monitors. If you are not going to game there's little sense to get an OLED. There are other options such as IPS, VA, or Full array local dimming monitors that would suit the task of work much better.
@@theripper121 How would we know that's true of the latest generation unless they get reviewed and tested for this purpose too?
