You got me into pigens, and i have 7. Right now, i fall asleep watching your vids😊
Gopher snake or sometimes refered to as a Bull snake. Basically harmless as they are just constrictor snakes but they do put a hurting on rodents and your pigeons apparently. Funny thing with them too... if you mess with them they try to strike alot and can actually vibrate and flick their tails so fast that people often confuse them with rattlesnakes.
I’m wondering if you don’t have a raccoon killing those birds it your trap?…
Could you cover the area where the snakes can get through with 1/4" hardware cloth or something too small for it to get through ??
Watch all you videos Bobby love all the progress you are making
thank you!
Bobby,
Use the garden bird net from Lowe’s or Home Depot and run it around your pigeon crop….run it very loose on around your bottom of your crop..snake will get stuck on the net. I raise pigeon and I have the same problem. Ever since I run the garden bird net on around the outside bottom. I never have snake problem. When I first started I trap like three to four snake every week…. Hopefully this help you out…
Just use finer mesh, snakes won't get in.
Looks like a cat or similar getting the pigeons in the trap.
Bobby Guy meet Bob Hansler. 😁😁 definitely check out Bob Hansler videos
"Snake Away" it's a granual that you can spread around your coup
i’ll look into this
You can get it at just about any hardware store that sells pest control products. Also, "Critter Ridder" is another option.
@@BobbyGuyFilms it really does that’s what we use around our goose pits
I'd go with a Raccoon, reaching in and grabbing the pigeons out the trap. Instead of killing snakes over and over, replace the wire mesh you have with 1/2 inch X 1/2 inch size mesh, that snake can't get in to eat the chicks in the first place. With the mesh size you have now, you have opened a restaurant, but you're leaving the door open 24/7 so your going to get trespassers, you need to close the door = smaller mesh holes. I'm willing to bet the snakes aren't really going to your pigeons, it's just where there is pigeon feed there are rodents (mice, rats), but they are coming across your chicks, so dinner is served, animal protection is also adequate housing, it's down to you as a owner to fully secure your pets.
Thank you for the contact for us all to watch
We put steal like 4 feet up then finer mesh on are chickens pens when snakes started getting in on the farm. Getting rid of the weeds around the pen helped a little to
Bull snake is the species you’re looking at. Snakes dislike the smell of ammonia. You can soak a rug in ammonia and put it in an unsealed bag. Place the bag around the loft.
Hey Bobby! Can we get a few more magnet fishing videos before hunting takes over for the fall/winter?
Yo bob can u do an in depth vid on all the decoys u and Preston got
Reccoon. You have to get him now, because he will be there all the time for supper.
Reccoon is having good suppers. He is on that roof.
I use plastic rolled small mesh fence material around my property. I have 1 ac fenced in with welded wire, put that stuff at the bottom. Not only keeps them out but catches the ones that can get their head in the mesh, the rest of the body cant go. Securing a chicken coop should be easy, get rid of the vegetation and stand off distance from the building and add the smaller mesh plastic fence to concerning areas. Good video.
Bob I love your content have been watching since 2019 and u gave lots of good tips keep up the good work
👊🏻 thanks man i appreciate that glad your here
I'd attach hail screen on the existing wire on your loft. Could stop them from getting in .
SHEEEEEEWWWW, let's go, you should post more of the never before seen footage of the hunting vids. I love those.
more
coming!!
yes bob they make snake traps you can find them for sale if you search for one on google.
Could be a prairie kingsnake, and for trapping try get some minnow or crawfish traps and bait it with an egg and some pigeon feathers.
Growing up my dad would tell us stories of when he was a teenager he would trap and sell Pigeons in California, he said some he sold to restaurants.
Orkin sells a glue that is made to hold snakes. u can put it on 2x6 around the pin.
You should put up a shed but make it into a pegion coop half for the pet ones and half for the ones you catch
Get a backpack to carry that corn in that way you have both hands free and it will be a little easier climbing those stairs and you can carry a onion sack to carry the bird in
awesome idea!!!
Trappers basket would work as well. You can also get a shoulder harness for your bucket.
One more thing that will help is keep the high grass and weeds cut around the pigeon cage, snakes don't like being out in the open where other predators can see them.
good idea
Drop some golf ball's in the bodem of your pin that will stop the problem and plastic Easter eggs work aswell
Spot on with prices, $5-$7 here in Minnesota
Moth Balls will keep them away, I have also caught snakes in one of those minnow traps that are metal and have like two inverted funnels for ends. Place some small rodent or large bugs in it for bait, once they get in they can't get out.
Bobby have you tried the minnow traps to catch the snakes!?
You actually got the price dead on for barn pigeons right now. Racing pigeons are running (in my area) anywhere between $50-$250 each
It looks like a gopher snake to me or a bull snake
I use rabbit drinkers on my traps very easy to swap and no contamination. All the gamekeepers in the uk use them on there crow traps extra.
Try cutting a piece of welding rod so you can zip tie it inside your pigeon trap door to stiffen it so whatever your catching cant get out as easy
Love the vids BOB!!
Thanks!!
I am guessing a goshawk. It is small enough to get in and out, and it’s a clever bird. Keep up the good content
Good Evening Bobby, a very interesting one! We are pleased that you killed the snakes which were killing the young pigeons. As we know, Jordan is having problems too. Something is taking his young chicks, as we have told him, we have known rats, weasels and stoats will take them if you have them in the US. Good trapping, Bobby but so many birds killed .We think it has to be a small hawk do you have sparrow hawks there, or merlins? They could get in and out of a trap, only your trail cam will tell the truth. We look forward to the mystery being solved! Take care and stay safe Malc and Ann (England) UK xx
Love the vids bobby amazing video dang snakes
We got you Bobby keep up the great videos!!
Looks like a Great Plains rat snake to me.. it’s possible it could be a bull snake, but usually bull snakes have mixed colouration in its markings, the snake in your video seems to be consistent in its colour the whole length. As far as I’m concerned the only snake there should be is a dead one! Love your show Bobby!
Blue Bills In Ontario!! Hit me up! 🙌
When are camo dux hoodies coming back?
I have caught snakes in the round long minnows traps put a mouse in there he goes in and get it and get stuck in
Sorry to hear about you baby pigeons Bobby
Great stuff..thanks 👍👌
Get some of the sticky mouse traps & nail one to each side of the post that are touching the ground.
You can probably use some glue traps for the snakes. You can put it around the plants that are around the loft.
More pigeon trapping pls!!!
Nice catch! them snakes give me the creeps... Great vid as always :)
no shit i hate snakes
I would love to see a fred training video
If it is eating your eggs too Hot glue a fishing hook to the egg tie some fishing string around your post. You will catch it every time
wow
I heard lime from home deopt repells snakes
Out here in the west we call them bull snakes they are the good snakes they say they will kill rattle snakes
oh really! that’s crazy
@@BobbyGuyFilms Yes out here I've seen them at six feet long
Yoo could put sulfur around the coup to keep the snakes away
Get some of the big glue boards and put along the wall, they make them for snakes. It will work, just make sure to place it along the wall. Snakes, rats, and other use the wall to travel around.
Zip ties, porch screen bout 5ft from ground up. Trim the brush away from your coop.
I don’t live where u r at but we got snake problems and I personally think that’s a gopher snake or some type of rat or king snake, I would dispatch those suckers it will help u out with the pigeons, love the content keep it up Bobby!!
Hey Bobby this may be a stupid question well probably is lol… but I was gifted a sitka duck oven jacket but I don’t want to spend $600 on bibs to match the camo. Does it really make a big difference if my camos don’t match.
no it doesn’t matter homie, i never match lol
You are doing a great video on your channell👍
Love to hear this
You can use a minnow trap to catch snakes.
You need finer mesh on your pigeon loft Bobby
You are more entertaining than anything they show on tv so why not watch every video
That awesome thank you!!
Looks like gopher snake to me.
Bull snake and they eat rattlesnakes. Had one over 6ft long for years but it killed itself in chicken wire in the chicken coop
It's a Gopher snake or a Bull snake, hard to tell which as can't see the head, deffo not a rattle snake species, can tell by the tail.
Try putting down powdered sulfur around the pigeon coup to keep the snakes away
Just a king snake
Use a 2 door minnow trap with a egg in it it works for snakes put put it against something like the cage or the wall
Awesome
If you put down minno traps on out side or build a big one out of chicken wire will catch them too.
We use minnow traps ard our chicken coop catch snakes n them quite often just put cpl ard the edge and they'll go right into their and can't get back out
Hey, I kills a 46 rat snake and water snake. My chickens in was in eggs he got all ate in rat snake chicken coop, snakestick for grad it in rat snake grad it gun and shoot head but he dead snake. There my house in everything snake I saw skin.
Bull snake! You can use snake barrier. It's a plastic mesh looks like a landing net sold at most hardware stores. Good luck sir!
👊🏻👊🏻
Use a minnow trap to trap them put eggs in side the minnow trap and you should be able to trap them
like regular chicken eggs?
Yes chicken eggs
You can put moth balls around or pour sulfur around & it will burn the belly of the snake to keep them away
The snakes definitely a bull snake
That’s what I think
Yup
In California, pigeons go for $3 a bird.
I haven’t been able to find any pigeons to train my dog here in souther Cali. Any info on that?
Is it not a chicken snake?
Set up a trail cam then move trap to different roof.
I usually like to keep snakes if they aren’t venomous because they kill so many pests but in your case it’s killing your pets so that’s bad
I had problems with rats getting my pigeons in my traps
Beast of a channel bro ❤️❤️💯
That looks like a Great Plains Rat Snake
Pigions sell for 6 bucks a bird at the training facility here in san diego California!
Hey I know this video doesn’t show it but I just want to give a shout out to Preston for his juicy footage. Ive already drawn two pictures of lessers from it. Keep on grinding Bobby!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I’ll tell him!!
Thanks!!!
Not a HOG Nose
Get yourself some Guinea hens, they will take care of any snakes you have.
Looks like a gopher snake.
Where fred
Replace your wire with smaller hardware cloth so the snake can't fit through.
Good snake is a dead snake also put a minnow trap or perch trap along Side of your pigeon loft and put an egg in it you will catch more than you would like
realllly an egg!?
@@BobbyGuyFilms yep you will get what I call chicken snakes but it’s the same thing as a rat snake
@@BobbyGuyFilms and mothballs work good for me
Cut the brush down around your pigeon coop the snakes are using it as cover to hide from you and get into the coop
It's a bull snake.
That my friend sure looks like a gopher snake.
You have to build floor and walls.
Gopher Snake. They look similar to rattles
Hog nose only eats toad frogs. It’s not a hog nose
put smaller wire for the snake won't enter I hope you see this
You are thinking you're a little too high for $6 or $7 now you're wrong it's actually $10 a bird
