i know im really late to this video, but i cant wait to turbo my r33 gts :)
You made it look to easy
Follow me on instagram : instagram.com/cameronnjansz/
Love the video man heaps useful! But where did you plumb your coolant return line?
Its meant to go back round to somewhere on the intake manifold but you do not need to run coolant lines to the turbo at all
@@cameronjansz88 coolant feed from the top bolt right. I think he pointed to the bottom onr. Btw why there's a bolt on the bottom below the coolant feed bolt
Thanks for the info bro
Very nice video 🥰😍
nice vid mate
If only everyone make videos like this without useless crap.
nice video, do you have a complete parts list by chance?
Well done mate
gr8 work m8
Been looking for a video like this, could you list all the parts you need to do a conversion?
Turbo manifold, turbo oil feed, turbo oil drain fitting, turbo dump pipe and turbo. You can just take all the stock stuff from an rb25det and bolt them straight on. Then you will need other stuff like bigger injectors and intercooler and a tuneable ecu if you want to make real power.
90s Nissan is this emgine still working after putting a turbo on it and if so how much boost do you put on it
@@indirapeppe8167 Yeah as long as you get it tuned and have the proper supporting mods (intercooler, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump) and always use at least 98 octane fuel its fine
@@90sNissan what power did it make?
@@R32_Sam 280kw on e85 i dont trust my tuner at all though couldve gone for 300 but i didnt want to keep going
What did you do with the coolant line block to turbo??? liked and subscribed ;)
Did not run coolant lines to the turbo. Most turbos do not need coolant feed. Just make sure you let the car idle for 30 seconds before shutting it off to prevent oil coking in the turbo.
You can (best to run ) coolant feed from next to throttle body ( small pipe trace it down to radiator feed) return other side heater core( if you got S1 or S2 got these pluged like he showed you). You don't need to run coolant but factor comes with coolant because Japanese don't but unnecessary pipes for nothing 😅😅😅😅😅
@@sparklingsams3155 thanks for the advice. I decided to swap the entire engine for a Neo DET in the end.
other than the turbo manifold, oil feed, oil drain, dump pipe and the turbo, did you only swap in the red cam covers from the RB25DET? what about the cams, camshafts and the internals? which ones do i need to swap and which ones do i leave out? thanks alot
Yes you are correct, you dont need to swap anything else, I only swapped the cam covers because I wanted to keep my old ones. Just make sure you get it TUNED
@@90sNissan that's great. thanks alot for the reply.
Hello,
Do you lowered the compression?
How much boost are you running low and high?
Fuel Pump?
Injector size?
Is the Rb20 & 25 the same to coverted to turbo?
Thanks for the answer.
No compression is higher which is why I run e85 to prevent detonation.
15 psi low boost 18psi high boost only for e85
Walbro 450lph
980cc injectors
Rb20 and rb25 exact same exh manifold and turbo
Okay thanks.
Crazy running 10:1. 😅
here in germany running e85 on the street is problematic.
Maybe thicker gasket or better piston and rods.
How long would the motor last if i run 8psi in a na block because of the internals and stuff
8psi will last forever if you get it tuned
Which ECU are you using, just about to do an auto to manual and turbo swap on my rb25de
Nistune
How did that go ?
@@meatsauce8454 still to complete,
I just picked up a n/a r34 , was wondering if you needed to upgrade your ecu to the rb25det ecu or it worked with your stock ecu? Also. How much psi are you pushing without worrying about blowing the motor? Thanks bro🙏
Le Loup Rouge these motors are high compression so I *idk about him* used 5psi to make my engine last, i think anything above 7psi fucks it uo
You can run as much boost as a turbo engine can, but you have to get it tuned. Without a tune it will blow up almost instantly. Im running 18 psi with no issues.
@@90sNissan also depends on what ecu is thrown in. A apexi compared to a adaptronic will run about 10deg more timing across the map off the bat. But ofcourse a tune is the best bet.
@@90sNissan how's the 18psi going and any hp numbers?
It was 280kw on 17psi with e85 and 15psi on 98 petrol. Still no issues
What car the motor from?
R33 gts series 1
Were u running an intercooler and piping when u started it up in this video
And also did you use an aftermarket down pipe off the turbo and does it bolt up to stock rb25de exhaust
Yes had all cooler pipes connected. I had a full turbo back custom exhaust. If you dont have one i reccomend you just get the whole exhaust out of a r33 or r32
Okay so the down pipe off turbo probably would bolt up to stock na exhaust
@@SwdKlla it might but i dont know
F legend. Thanks. Bro ecu modified or turbo One?
it will probably be a stock 25det ecu
It is a nistuned rb20 ecu running a rb25det map
bro are these neo's or series 2
Series 1
from where did you supply the water for the turbo? or you didnt?
No water feed for turbo, not needed
hows it been holding up? planning to boost my 95 r33 with a de
Still going strong mate. Been about 3 years i even turned the boost up to 20psi and its fine. Check my latest video
also did you tune the stock rb25de ecu? or did you use the rbd5det ecu?
I used an rb20 ecu with a nistune chip
Can u use a rb25de ecu???!!
@@roseramsey7117 any r32 ecu. Rb20de rb20det or rb25de non vct ecu can be nistuned. I dont think the r33 rb25de ecu is tuneable though
Just wondering where is the coolant drain
Loops back around to the intake manifold. Didnt use one on mine, most turbos dont need coolant
@@cameronjansz88 thanks
Back of the motor, next to heater core return.
Wheres coolant return on engine if any!
It loops back around engine to intake manifold. I didnt run coolant to the turbo
@@90sNissan sweet , your engine still going?
would this be expensive to get a mechanic to do?
Probably, this entire thing took q couple days and less than $1000, a mechanic would charge alot more than that
Do it your self. Easy.
Can I T the vtc oil drain for turbo oil drain.
U can but its not ideal
@@deadlychoppa7791ceith a 10A instead of the stock one at vct drain. So it got got more room to drain.
Have seen it done. Just heard not ideal with the amount of oil flowing thru your turbo. I was going to do it but ended up getting a sump that already had a fitting for drain welded to it
This is an rb25de non turbo ?!?! Looking to do the same on my r33 rb25de gts man!
Yes rb25de series 1 from an r33 gts
@@90sNissan what did you use or did for a tune since it’s high compression?
@@robbienguyen4307 I used e85 for high boost and 98 for low boost
@@90sNissan thank you for the reply, appreciate your time! How about your ecu? Man, I’m in the eastcoast we have 93 and e85 certain areas Any recommendation for ecu ?
@@robbienguyen4307 i used nistune but i would definitely reccommend something better like haltech or something
What turbo did you use ?
Hypergear rb25 highflow
Hi mate, where are you from? Would you be willing to do this for me and I pay you to turbo R34 NA
Im in melbourne
hey mate interested in selling your r32 ?
