7:11 Much respect to Toyota for designing the vehicle with a consideration for REPAIR-A-BILITY. GM or BMW would be happy to require you to remove the dash panel to get to the heater core. Respect to Angel for sharing the videos. You are a very talented mechanic.
I love how you still pressure tested the cooling system. Even though you knew it was the heater core leaking. Because you produced a secondary leak in the cooling system. Smart and straight forward, great job 👍
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Bishop Garrett Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
You also get my vote for the Good Dad Award. Taking your kids to the parts store makes for good memories. When they get bigger you can work on stuff together. I have great memories with my dad.
I looked up the stuff you are using as sealant. Pretty good stuff, to be used on various parts also. FIP stands for Forms In Place, for all you viewers out there :-) It sets to form an elastic body which is not affected by vibration or impact . Maintains a stable rubber body over an operating temperature range of -76°F to 482°F ( -60°C to 250°C ) and highly resistant to engine oil, various chemicals and coolant . To be used on the water pump, oil pan, valve cover, engine head, fuel pump, thermostat housing, oil pump and intake manifold Has a five-minute tack free time. but yeah, letting it dry over-night is a very good idea, just to be sure enough time was taken to let it sit and do it's work...
Texus Mad thank you brother for the information. It is very good. I use it for everything except transmission case and rear differentials. There is another Toyota sealant for that. Have a nice day.
Wow, I didn't know it was that easy to do a heater core on a Camry like that. Most cars you'd have to pull the entire dashboard apart just to get to it. Good job Angel 😇 👏 👍
Awesome video, man. Thank you. My Corolla started having heater core issues at very close to the same mileage as yours. 233,xxx... I've replaced the entire coolant system in my 2005 corolla already at about 200k because of persistent overheating issues. I didn't want to throw random parts at it and just guess so I replaced the thermostat, water pump, radiator, and coolant temp sensor all at once to be safe. I was a little confused at first when my engine temp started rising over normal operating temperature, but it was very obvious when I realized the heat wouldn't blow, and engine temp would stabilize untill high RPMs. Love the part with your daughter also, because my first child is on the way right now due I'm June 2025 lol. I'm sure I'll have many more similar experiences
Congratulation for your job Man you are the last one professional worked in garage and do It everything ! To accomplish you are the best Father God bless you !

To: Fix It Angel Hi, Your video is just great. Your shots are neither too short nor too long. You give essential information at the right time. In short, you did a great job of understanding. Now subscribed to your channel, I'll follow you in the future. Have a nice day.
I own a 2002 Toyota Camry le,but my mines is an automatic. Watching this video and seeing what you had to do made my head spin. I'm not a mechanic, but I want to learn how to do it to. I see so many different areas under the hood and even inside the car when you had removed the carpet.
I love watching you're videos Angel! You make everything look so effortlessly and do am awesome job! I feel like everything that I watch, I am learning a little. Thank you Angel.
Very excellent You are wonderful, my brother Karim gives you wellness on this good work I have asked you a lot since I own a Camry 2002 like you completely thank you brother so much
Хорошее видео! Привет из Сибири!)) Чтобы меньше проливать антифриз, можно снять трубку от радиатора на расширительный бачок и поставить ее на слив с радиатора!
wow it seems the most hardest work (due to weather and messy..) ever i watched on your video. i like the time lapse clips ^^ Great job thanks for sharing!
Oh my god... the autozone he went to is the exact store I used to work at until a few months ago. I know it’s nothing special but it’s a huge sense of deja vu
I love your videos, makes me seriously motivated to do my own repairs. Thank you again, I wish your subscribers increase huge and you gain wealth because you deserve it Angle . God bless
I had no problem when you removed the core, but to undo the crimp to pull out a pipe and then reassemble well that is real backwoods repair. You just voided a warranty for the core for sure. My thought for repair with that kind of mileage and not wanting to pull the heater box out would have been to cut the pipe and add a hose in-between to connect with spring-style clamps so will never have to tighten clamps. I would lose sleep over your repair. To each his own I guess.
Hi car, First. ask me if the heater core is still good and working. FYI it is still good and working. No leaks no problem. It’s my friends car. He would come to me if anything is wrong. If you don’t trust yourself doing the job. Don’t do it at all. Or just do it your way if that makes you happy. Just saying. Thank you for the comment.
Great video When I work on vehicles the winter is sometimes a factor. Sucks to do a head gasket job outdoors when it's 20 degrees and raining/snowing. Get it done anyway
I love how you show us how this is done without a lot of crazy movement of the camera and unnecessary chatter..what is that gasket sealer you use and where and how much is it..thanks? I changed my valve cover gasket and used a 3-M sealer but it leaked 2 months later!
That's an easy fix at the side of many that you have to remove the whole dashboard.... my heater core went, I just bought some radiator seal liquid... 1 year later, still running good.
Pressure test that non OEM radiator cap. It is probably not releasing at 13 psi and causing the system to over pressurize. It creates the leak at the path of least resistance.
A relatively easy job on this Camry. A nightmare job on many vehicles requiring dash disassembly to access heater core. Kudo's to Toyota engineers. I doubt that Toyota sealant (RTV?) adds any sealing when an oring seal is "lubed". When you push the fitting into place all the sealant is displaced by the rubber oring.
Texas Pipeliner Uh ? Should by now all these so called manufacturers car engineers come up with a fucking heating core cover under the front dash to have access to the heating core . Same goes for the American truck manufacturers when it cones to replace a fuel Pump , and you have to drop the gas tanks , should them install a access recess door for them .
The sealant helps to adhere the pipe and acts as a glue around the rubber O-ring. Remember, that O-ring is what failed, causing the leak in the first place.
You know by far my favorite RUclips mechanic. Not much talking, all work, and get it done. A lot of RUclipsrs all they do is talk. Who cares. Just show us how its done. Thanks Brah!!!
B Maybe next time cut the pipes to insert a rubber section. Then insert core with small pipes on and after installed connect with a small splice section? That way to keep factory core/pipe integrity?
Great video, perfect for how-to! Thank you! It is odd they'd ship the new core with the pipes attached? Maybe the same core is used in other models where it can be installed without having to remove and reattach the pipes?
Thanks for doing this! I need to replace the heater core in my 2005 xB, I tried looking under the dash and it doesn't seem like I can access it and need to remove the dash to replace the core. Know anything about these?
Okay, now my camry is 2007 model which is the newer trim. Is the same to solve the problem or I should pull out the dashboard to change this heater core. My car symptoms are 1-water coolant bubbling & it gets empty with time 2- my car doesn't give heated air when I turn the dashboard button on, it only emitted fan air naturally dry & lukewarm. 3- my motor radiator works well because I replaced it recenntly & my car motor temperature is good & stable always.
have a question I have dried coolant and rust in my radiator and would like to know what should i do because a friend said I should flush would you have a video showing how to thanks again just subbed
Great video on Camry heater core replacement, makes me feel better I can DIY this on my own 2009 Camry if ever needed; I like how you are a seasoned mechanic and still run into those “what the f$&k”moments like the rest of us DIYers do when replacing what should be direct fit parts😂.
Lol, if you look in the Haynes manual, its talking about disassembling the dash, removing the steering column, unhooking AC lines, etc etc!! I was so glad to see it aint even all that bad.
My 2008 sienna heater doesn’t work at the back I have flashed change both actuators and changed heater core but I have heat front not at back seats any advice
Hey sir. I checked mine today and the bottom pipe on the heater core is hot and the top pipe coming out is just warm. Do you think it's stopped up internally.
Love your videos. Very educational and straight forward. Just wondering though if I'm not changing the heater core and need to replace the coolant, what's the easiest way to flush the old coolant inside the heater core?
Hi Thank you James. Remove one of the rubber hose that goes to the heater core. it is located at the firewall. stick the water hose in it and clean the heater core out.
@@FixItAngel Thanks. I saw you loosening the hoses using a pick. I'm assuming it's because of the sealant that was applied to those hoses before they were installed. Problem is I haven't got a pick. Did the high pressure gases from the stripped head bolts/bad head gasket syndrome pop that radiator and heater core?
