You have to be careful with foreigners. The biggest letdown when you’re with one is that they like going back to their native country. If they don’t come visit or make major plans to see you for longer than two weeks or so, they aren’t really trying to become serious with you. I have no idea what kind of relationship you have with him, but to me, body language, his dialogue, and moments where he should take the incentive (like taking a dip in the water with you if he really liked you) are quick tell-away signs that he’s there to either squat (meaning he’s playing the “boyfriend “ but not actually being one) or is taking a break from his real life back home (which could mean his work that he’ll never leave behind or another woman--but listening to his 20 year old pick-up lines, I doubt he has another girl back home…which could also be another red flag because if he doesn’t have another one, that truly means something is off). I’m sorry to bring this news to you, you seem very innocent and loving. I hope you start getting him out of his comfort zones to really make him work for your love. You have a lot of admirers and perhaps he isn’t one of them except just a squatter.
