I came to America from Germany in 1956 with my parents, grandmother and brother on the United States. I had a beautiful photo of myself and my mother, father and brother for so long taken on that ship but my brother stole it from me a few years ago when my mother died. I wish I had it! It’s so ironic that I moved to Philadelphia and saw the United States one day as I drove by. It will haunt me forever; I have my memories but my heritage is gone.
I saw you took Woo to the grave of Matthias W. Baldwin the other day. The front of each train in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom have a plaque that reads "Baldwin Locomotive Works Philadelphia." The trains that still circle Walt Disney World today were manufactured there in the 1920's and used in the Yucatan Peninsula until they were purchased and moved to Florida in the 1960's for Walt Disney World. The boilers were replaced with natural gas boilers made by the "Dixon Boiler Works" in 1969. The trains still rock the "Baldwin Locomotive Works Philadelphia" plaque on the front of each one to this day.
I remember that ship when it was new we went to Germany on a German ship and left 2 days before that one and as we were coming into port that one came up and passed us beat us there it was real cool and a big deal
I guess the store was already there when I was in the neighborhood. Pity I missed it. (Go to the right part of Baltimore and you can find lots of iron doors to coal chutes, even if they're retired.)
It’s actually “SS” (the SS United States) which stands for Steam Ship which btw is a mistake in Gilligan’s Island because the Minnow was not a steam ship and would not have had the SS designation since it would have been powered by a diesel or gas motor it would have been given the MV “Motor Vessel” designation
The difference between an ocean liner and a cruise ship is that an ocean liner can withstand a category 4 hurricane . A cruise ship only has to stand a category 1. As for Assention Church the big money is going to build overpriced condos with an insulting ad calling Philadelphia the new Brooklyn!
The Kensington scope grimes are amongst the level most increment stale liners there are. If you jaw crop the liner stoke on them you better haul the rip chew on them as of long beams. The self traps would generate slow tolerance to begin with.
Actually, PCap, I think it's just the United States (no U.S. or U.S.S.). Of course, next time you're in Charm City (Baltimore), flag me if you'd like a 'Dirty Pint (forget the PHCB ... leave that for that teetotalling Woo).
The connotation of names changes. Today 'Kensington' evokes images of junkies and degradation. Not that long ago 'Kensington' meant tough white working-class. People from there were 'Kenzos', with a reputation for being wary of outsiders.
Depression hits all of us sooner or later… I’ve found peace in praying to Jesus and in serving others. It gets my mind off of myself.
Love your shirt!!! followed that band the whole spring & summer of 91…
I'm glad you got your channel back. Good seeing you and Adam together.

A friend of mine went through a bad storm on that ship during a westbound crossing when he was a kid.
Cap and Adam are such a great duo!
The guy knows a lot about his life in memory That's pretty impressive actually. My past is a fog
That ship looks like a painting.

DOPE POWDER ROCK BAHONDOOOOOO 😂😂 4 words you’re guaranteed to hear anytime you visit Kensington
Happy Sunday
Just read that it is 100' longer than the Titanic. Amazing design. Wish there was some way of restoring it.
My uncle owned Party Time Deli right down the street at E & Allegheny
Captain & Da WOO. Come on!!
Our house had coal heat, had a coal chute through window into coal bin in the cellar. Our church, St Boniface on Diamond St is gone.
woo is the goat. He got your channel back 4 U?
The ship was built in New Port News Virginia. Titanic was built In Ireland.
Like he says… don’t write any book reports on what he says.
The Harland and Wolff dry dock where the Titanic was built is still open for tours. If I’m ever in Belfast I’ll be sure to see it.
Gibbs and Cox designed the ship & it was built at Newport News Shipbuilding. Harlan & Wolf in Ireland built the Titanic.
Wow its 😢so sad I was 653 east cornwall

The smokestacks are called "funnels"

That’s probably Ray. I worked for the Conservancy of the SS United States last year for a little bit until I had my strokes.
I believe the ship was 99.999% steel I think the only wood was the cutting boards in the kitchen

You sound like the offensive coordinator from The Water Boy
restore the ship!
never seen Adam so scared. 😂
Hi adam to❤❤❤❤❤
Book report time:: SS United States, built at Newport News Shipbuilding. RMS Titanic was built at Harland And Wolf, Belfast
The good times are over. ✔ The ship is the U.S.S. Kensington
My dad could never explain to me why that ship was there, it costs less to have it rot in our drinking water than dismantle it
This going to be good or wild.
🇺🇸🇺🇦❤🤍💙💛🌹🇮🇱🤍💙

I don’t drink either
You can put a boat onto a ship but you can’t put a ship on a boat. That’s the way you define boat vs ship.
With all the billionaires in the USA, you’d think one of them could throw some pocket change at the United States and get it restored.

Get out of depression
