Academic Phase 1, MITAGS East - Simulation Session A, April 4 - 5, 2024
The Unlimited Inland Mate Apprentices complete three ship simulator training courses specific to the program. Exercises reinforce concepts learned in the classroom and on board vessels to establish good watchstanding practices.
GRN Apprentices Owen Franco and Tyler Giblin operate a vessel model similar to a coastal tanker, with less than 50,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT), a length of 205 meters, and a beam of 29 meters, inbound for Valdez. Owen is the watch officer and Tyler is the helmsperson.
