Am from Uganda and new into dragon fruit. Planted 13 cuttings a few weeks ago. The weather here is very supportive for the plants and very rich in organic. Looking forward to learning more from you.
Thank you, I will be trying to keep it simple. like I say they will grow root just laying in the shade. I just receive a bunch of new cutting from a friend in California. I will will post soon. If its humid you might want to plant above the ground in mounds so your roots dont stay wet. Good luck with your plants.
Nice. Im in the RVG area, I had my plants outside for over 18 years and nothing ever happened to them.. But its not the same anymore. So I planted them in pots to move under a protected area during the winter.
HOWS IT GOING.. IM STARTING MY OWN DRAGON FRUIT HERE IN MIDLAND T.X. LETS SEE HOW IT GO's. BOUGHT SUM CUTTINGS FROM CALIFAS. LET ME NO IF U HAVE ANY CUTTING FOR SALE. GOOD LUCK.👍🏽✌🏽
Good luck. I dont have any cuttings yet but when I do I will be selling good quality cutting that have great tasting fruit. I dont want to get into hard to find stuff or bad fruit. Make sure to put them in large pots or in half barrels like the blue drums, that way you can move the inside when it freezes up. Or a mid size green house with some heating.
I dont know yet. for 18 years we never has hard freezing weather. I lost all my plants when I was gone and it got below freezing for two day. Now I think I will make a green house out of cattle panels or extend by metal building to cover them. We will find a way, thank you.
In lower South Texas we normally never freeze but a small freeze won't her them. I will find the best varieties that can grow in my area. some are a bit more cold hardy. You can cover them with a tree sheet or old blanket, ETC.
Hope they do well. Find a semi shaded area if you can. You can coat them with a white latex paint and water mixture to help reflect the heat. Do a test branch first to see if you see a difference. Good luck.

They don’t give discounts in SoCal anymore 😂😂😂 !!! It’s because I told the secret on my video 😅😅😅😅!! Great video
Thank you appreciate it.
Enjoyed your video & look forward to seeing an update on these guys🙏😊😊
Went to the ranch and got a bunch of cow poo powder and mulch for the potting mix
Straight sand works great also
Yes, but it had no nutritional value and you have to continually feed them. I have tried it in the past.
New subscriber !!
Thank you, Jay. I jump on your channel. What varieties do you have. I will send you an email from Southtx.

SOUNDS GOOD. THANK U👍🏽
What do you do during winter? Do you cover and just provide a little heat?

Thanks!
Cover the dragon fruit with burlap, if your plants are in full sun. This will keep them from yellowing
They are doing great, I just moved them out of partially shaded area today. I will monitor them for chlorosis Thanks.
Any new videos?
Yes I am working on it, and getting ready to plant them in 25 gallon containers. Sorry for keeping you waiting.
Super interesting video. What part of RGV you from?
In San Juan, TX. Where are you from.
We go to South Padre every now & then for summer, so maybe we can plant swap one yr🤷
We are only like 70 mile from SPI.
What do you do when it frosts

Just subscribe. I lost all my plants to heat 120°F . 2nd try this year . Luckily my cutting makes it ok Thru shipping.

I'm in Austin, the plant does well in the sun up to 95°, over that temperature I have to move the plant to the sade, otherwise it dies quickly.
I am in Corpus Christi
San Juan.
